He is definitely way underrated. In 1969 as people were going to San Francisco with 'flowers in their hair', he was writing 'War Pigs'. Still a stunningly powerful anti war song now but the impact back then must've been like getting hit by a truck. Pretty sure thats why they were labelled Satanic. Rock/Metal bands have always written about reality and the sociopaths in charge hate that..........hence the classic projection.....THEY'RE EVIL!!!!!!!! In the mid 80's Al Gore's wife and her little gaggle of Democrat chums, branded metal as Satanic and tried to persuade all good Christians that it was evil music. Hilariously stupid but I did come home from school one day and my mum was about to throw all my Sabbath, Maiden, Motorhead etc records in the bin. I had to play her 'After Forever' with its Christian lyrics to get a reprieve.
WOWWWWW, YOU SURE ARE SKIPPING AROUND! 😊SO THIS FROM MY FAVORITE SABBATH ALBUM SAEED ( SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH ) 👍I'D SAY TO CHECK OUT THE TITLE TRACK FOR SURE! 💯
In an interview with Mick Wall, Geezer Butler told him "A National Acrobat “is about wanking. Not that anybody got it.” That is, a song about wanking “told from the sperms’ point of view”.
Nice to see that you enjoyed it! This song has turned out to be a favorite one to me after 40 years of listening to Sabbath. It's packed with so many good licks and riffs. Lesser bands wouldn't dare to spend them all on just one song. I guess that's why I never get tired off it. And on top of it all is Geezers cleverly written lyrics, that adds more depht to the composition.
You didn't know the rabbit hole these guys take us down. Thay actually talked about a fifth member of the band that was just always there and that some of this stuff just came so easy. wait 'til you hear "After Forever", it on the Master of Reality album.
Sooooo many great Sabbath tunes; pretty much everything on Heaven and Hell, Sabbra Cadabra from this album, many great ones on the Mob Rules, the first album is loaded with them as well. Also some really trippy ones like Planet Caravan, Solitude (still can't believe that's Ozzy singing on that tune). Thanks for the video.
Ozzy came up with most, if not all, the melodies!!! Tony wrote the riffs, Geezer wrote most of the lyrics (Ozzy wrote some as well) and add Ozzy's melodies and Bill Wards' drums and you have EPICNESS!!!1
Great reaction! This is actually my favorite Black Sabbath song of all. Very Scottish flavor in the riff and melodies, as usual for Sabbath. Brilliant. Lyrics are amazing, and all the rest. Cheers!
I'm reminded of the "Every Sperm is Sacred" song from Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life" movie. 😂 Great to see you getting into Black Sabbath. Such an awesome band, especially during the Ozzy era!
Yo idk know where to make a requests but here are a few you have missed Jimi Hendrix (Matching gun) Prof (Fire Lessons) Spark Master Tape ($ndby) lyric video preferred the recently-released fan made one that he put on his channel kinda risky. Aesop Rock (Holy waterfalls) Thank you
Masterpiece 🤘
Underrated song
Imo, Geezer should be talked about in the same breath as Neil Peart for lyrics. Love this band so much.

The secret to a good life in a single sentence. "Just remember love is life and hate is living death."

And live for every breath.
Top five Sabbath songs for me. ❤
@bobdelp2023 is right, Spiral Architect is the conclusion of this Butlerian masterpiece.
Favorite Sabbath song
Gotta check out Spiral Architect after this
WAYYYYYYYY AHEAD OF THE TIMES, NO JOKE! 💯😊
Indeed!
The next one should be "Hand of Doom". The lyrics hits hard, it's about Vietnam war soldiers and the addiction of many of them after the war.
Thanks for that recommendation!

gotta do sweet leaf !!
Will add it to the list. Thanks.
A good jumping point from here would be Symptom of the Universe. Geezer digs into his bag of poetry once again.
Thanks for that recommendation! Love great lyrics.

Yes, Scottish flavor now that you mention it. Great song!
Thanks for watching.
Excellent riff
I always alternate between Tony and Angus Young as the ultimate riff master!
And Jimmy Page
