The song is the perfect Black Sabbath song. Lyrics as usual by bassist Geezer Butler, guitar riffs by Toni Lommi, melody and singing Ozzy at his very best, and highlighted throughout the song Bill Ward just attacking his drums; it's one thing to hear Ward, but the 1970 Paris version on UA-cam makes you realize he was simply a superhuman on drums.
I just watched the Paris video again and I suddenly realized the stage was set up completely different than most Rock shows. Bill Ward is actually front and center on drums, Ozzy on the leftleft (slightly forward of Ward), Geezer on the right and Lommi on lead guitar in the background behind Ozzy. So the visual emphasis is on Ward and Ozzy.

They are the template for all heavy metal bands that followed. They defined it, and they could jam. Young Ozzie was a force of nature gone out of control. Great song & LP. ✌️❤️🎶

The absolute best anti war song to date. OZZY's foghorn voice is unmistakable. Geezers unrelenting bass pounding. Bill Ward's bashing of the drums, and Tony's perfect Riffs make for a masterpiece of music.🤘🔥
Absolutely love this tune and the band. Although always a confrontation in my head between a lot of their songs. Also love AFTER FOREVER Ozzys first ever gig was in Carlisle UK. The city I now live in and the Black Sabbath venture was extremely prominent in Cumbria in their early days.
I bought this record as a young teenager in the early 70s, and I still listen to it in my car on CD. I'm a 68yr woman too. The paranoid album is definitely my all time favourite. True words to this song, unfortunately. 😢
One of the first bands I had a love affair with. Tony Iommi is the riff master. Gotta give a heads up to Bill Ward though, who adds so much to the early Sabbath sound with his jazz influenced swing beats, fast hands and endless energy. Also Geezer Butler's influential bass playing. Such a cohesive unit from the very beginning.
@@SaeedReacts. Children of the Grave is another anti-war song by them, though more subtle. Best line " Children of tomorrow live in the tears that fall today" Very true.
John Lennon said it best "The people have the power, they just don't know they have the power. It's time for the people to take the power back!" A quote decades old that still rings true today! Appreciate the channel and the expansion of knowledge!
Dude, drop everything you're doing and react to the 1970 live Paris version of Sabbath's War Pigs. They were all at the top of their game. You will especially appreciate Bill Ward beating his drums like they own him money.
Legendary song and band 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥 Geezer Butler is the lyrical master behind most of the songs. Tony Iommi is the riff lord 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Saw them live in the early 70s. u gotta go thru their discography starting with the debut at least first 6 albums! they are a must hear you can’t go thru life without that experience every album sound ms different from each other in its own unique beautiful way with lots of pleasant surprises trust me
Always liked Guns n Roses Civil War as an anti war tune - " You're power-hungry, sellin' soldiers in a human grocery store " is a line from their tune . ---------- but Sabbath been the center of my music universe since the mid 70s
If you like this one, you should go to the beginning, the song "Black Sabbath" on the album Black Sabbath. It starts out like an old horror film then goes into a nightmare the bassist (Gezer Butler) had one night. Great reaction, Thanks.
@@SaeedReacts. Hey, thanks for responding. You won't regret listening to Black Sabbath, all their music and lyrics has substance. Every song is like a little excursion. If you want to keep with the war theme, "Hand of Doom" is about a Vietnam vet who starts shooting up and the fate that brings. It leads into a follow-on song "Rat Salad" which is an instrumental and drum solo. It's at least as good as War Pigs. Thanks again.
There is a protest song about a dark day in our history. Ohio was written in response to the actions taken against peaceful protestors at Kent State. Written by Neil Young and recorded by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
