And this is also why right to repair and serviceable products needs to be a thing. If the customer is going to be afraid that the warranty will be void by sending to anyone other than an authorized service center or worse, do it themselves when they know how to do it, it will never get maintained. Cars used to be the same way, if you didn't take it to the dealer while a warranty was in effect they would void it over something as simple as an oil change.
Some machines aren't easy to open up but if it is go for it for sure but what you can do to prevent build up from building more quickly is keeping it on a clean desk or surface and avoid the bed it can overheat and collect a lot of junk in the fans especially if you own pets
I never knew it can damage your hardware unless you talking about cpu and gpu. I need to clean my laptop as well but i had to take out my motherboard to get access to the heat sink.
Always elevate your electronics when possible, it makes a world of difference. I use my desktop in a room with a carpeted floor with two cats and two dogs and I'm not very good about vacuuming, but it's up on a desk-high table and barely had any dust inside from 2 years of constant use with no cleaning. Don't run laptops with fans on beds and sofas.
Part of it is that fabric mesh, it doesn't serve a purpose other then making laptops over heat, I removed mine on my older gaming laptop for better thermals, and no clogging, sure you have to clean it more often, but not as much different in timing of cleaning my desktop.
To be fair… they design these laptops with crazy amount of screws and hidden screens with special tape you have to carefully pull out. Basically weren’t designed to be user friendly and just “open up”.
Hmmm. I should probably take a look at mine soonish too. I know how important this is as my old 2013 asus laptop is still running thanks to regular preventative maintenance. To be clear, I sold that one years ago and I have a newer one with a 3080Ti in it.
My favorites are the people who use their laptops in bed. They let them sit directly on the blankets and so the vents are completely blocked and the fans suck in a bunch of fibers. Within a short time -- weeks or a few months at most -- these build up and prevent the fans rotating.
It's stupid to put fans on the bottom of something meant to either sit on a desk or on a lap. Put the fans back on the back or anywhere else instead of trying to make laptops paper thin and fragile
This actually happened to my laptop. Never cleaned it in 2 years of use, then one day I fell asleep with a big title open, when I woke up my GPU was damaged and had bad performance and heat even on the desktop.
my laptop has a broken screen, broken fan, and most of the case gone, and it still work's completely fine other than it being a fire hazard. I think his laptop is going to survive in my opinion
I've had stuttering issues with my laptop after only 3 months of daily usage. I decides to clean it after 2 years and it was horrible, dust everywhere, when i cleaned i repasted it somewhat stopped stuttering but it still stuttered. I sold it, saved up some money and bought a desktop, no problems so far!
The problem is if you're way within your time of warranty it won't do you any good to let someone else than the seller to work on your laptop and they'll probably not clean it. So you gotta wait the time
you can't really blame the average user though, many don't bother to clean their laptops in fear of breaking something, which often happens since the way they're built has been very unfriendly to end users.
Also I don't know how common this idea is, but gaming laptops are not rugged laptops. They are not meant to take a beating. They have good performance, but I'd argue you only get most of that if you treat it as a desktop PC that you have the option of using on the go if truly needed.
My first experience that taught me about how heat effects GPUs and other hardware was with an ATI X800 that used to crash if it got too hot. Incidentally, fixing that issue also led to me learning about over clocking. I tore off the stock cooler and strapped a double 90mm fan out of an Xbox 360 in to it and the difference was so drastic I was able to OC the balls off of it 😂
I had one arrive in the shop that wouldn't even turn on. The heatsink fins were completely clogged, and had been for quite a while. I had to scrape the liquid metal off the CPU and cooler and replace with MX4, not sure why it had oxidized or degraded but guessing it was something to do with the heat. Worked great after a quick reset.
of course they are often lacking maintenance.. these days the average person do not knoe how to open and fix electronics themselves.. especially since it is discouraged by the warenty being removed on most electronics.. all because if safety and capital gain... it is disgusting..
I take my 7 year old Acer E15 appart once a month and get any dust or dirt out of the ventilator and from the motherboard itself with a soft brush and compressed air. Recently also replaced the og battery w/ a new one and got no problems. When gaming I also have it on an extra laptop cooler w/ 3 big and 3 small fans, my laptop now runs so cold that I'd question wether it's on if I wasn't playing games on it atm.
Clogged intake vents is one of my biggest fears tbh. Constantly trying to monitor how vents look on my laptop. Would be glad to get some advice on how to properly clear them, because they look very fragile to me and I'm pretty new to all this stuff, but trying my best to keep my laptop in good condition
They should make the strips removable through a strip system because then even those with the typical knowledge of computers can make it easier to cool their laptops ( also before everyone spams i know some brands may do this but idk )
Noctua industrial fans FTW they can run in dusty environments for a while before causing cooling issues, they can even clear dust out of places at high speed

I get a mini hoover on the vents every two weeks, I not having a fire hazard on something that expensive.
This video is weirdly too respectful
Good work bro keep going u are greatest tecnician i ever see🎉
To be fair… they design these laptops with crazy amount of screws and hidden screens with special tape you have to carefully pull out.
When I looked in the title I immediately translated the sad to the f-word because THE GREATEST TECHNICIAN THAT’S EVER LIVED puts sad in his captions
Most laptops these days are painful to take apart to clean.
Most laptops didn’t have this issue when the vents where on the sides of the laptop but these days they are underneath
They have good performance, but I'd argue you only get most of that if you treat it as a desktop PC that you have the option of using on the go if truly needed.
exactly
Thanks for telling me to check mine. Looked clean to me, but I try to take care of my stuff, even if I'm not good at it.
My first experience that taught me about how heat effects GPUs and other hardware was with an ATI X800 that used to crash if it got too hot. Incidentally, fixing that issue also led to me learning about over clocking. I tore off the stock cooler and strapped a double 90mm fan out of an Xbox 360 in to it and the difference was so drastic I was able to OC the balls off of it 😂
and this is why my desktop literally has positive pressure to help reduce internal dust buildup.
Bro's got that tongue game
I had one arrive in the shop that wouldn't even turn on. The heatsink fins were completely clogged, and had been for quite a while. I had to scrape the liquid metal off the CPU and cooler and replace with MX4, not sure why it had oxidized or degraded but guessing it was something to do with the heat. Worked great after a quick reset.
of course they are often lacking maintenance.. these days the average person do not knoe how to open and fix electronics themselves.. especially since it is discouraged by the warenty being removed on most electronics.. all because if safety and capital gain... it is disgusting..
He: GPU and CPU

“signs of hardware damage”
*like WHAT?*
This was the first vid where he didn't roast my mom
listening to your voice feels like listening to Radio..
Rare time when he doesn't say, "The greatest technician who's ever lived."
That dude be making real easy money right here
I had my entire cpu and cooling system replaced thanks. This is a serious issue.
I have a roggl503ge 2019 model . I do it's servicing every 7 months (replace thermal paste and all dust Cleaning) . Always take care of your things. Sine 2019 I didn't have to replace a single part and no issue was seen in it .
