It is high dollar. I have about 2500-3000 invested, but it's a side hobby! My co-worker's (not a close friend) 16 year old daughter wanted to get in on it, but they freaked out at the cost. She asked couldn't they just come use my stuff (free of course). Nope...
I'd say bare minimum is $350 to start. Most places will sell 1-2 items at low price, but what kills the price is the shipping. So it's cheaper to buy more with free shipping.
Thanks for putting the time in to make this video, Alison. Super helpful, clear, and to the point! Looking forward to watching your other videos too :).
well, you'd have to decide on how much you are selling your tumblers for and then calculate how many you'd have to sell to break even or start turning a profit :)
@@AlisonCrafts okay! I just bought someone local’s entire collection of glitter and other random stuff and think I will buy the crystalac kit tomorrow!

By the way, your channel has been the best and has had the most helpful videos by far! Ive been wanting to start making tumblers for a while but the thought of getting started felt too overwhelming. After watching your videos I've been building a shopping list and your amazon list is so helpful! Turns out I already had the same cup turner in my cart that you reccomend too so that helped a lot! When there's too many choices i have a really hard time making a descision and usually give up, but now I'm giving it all a go! ☺ Thank you, Alison!
You will usually need way less when you use polyester glitter to get the coverage your looking for as opposed to buying the cheaper glitters. A good way to cheat a little is to base paint your cup the same/closest color to your glitter or use cheat glitters but overall a higher quality poly glitter is best in the long run.
Good morning Alison! I just want to thank you for creating videos as such!!! You have no idea how much h you've helped me! I'm new this craft and watching your videos has helped me a lot!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!💜❤💙
Hi! Have u ever applied Brite tone on top of a powder coated tumbler? I would still and it down first and wash it etc but do u think Brite tone would work with it?
Just found your channel and love your videos. Many I ask, what font do you use for the on screen words that display during the videos? It is very pretty.
Lol I definitely didn't pay attention when I first started but as I thought about making this video I was like dang... I know I've spent a lot of money 😂
I'm in for about 10k. Plus, I purchased a very large home with crafting space in mind. Lol! I also have a brick and mortar shop. It is very easy to go down the rabbit hole. 🕳
I made a fresh gmail account to sign up for the checklist download and immediately flagged the download link as suspicious. Maybe a fluke, but why not just link the list versus artificially bloating a mailing list with nevergonnabeused accounts like I did. Find a better guide, this seems money grabby more than helpful.
Alison, I enjoy your videos but you speak so fast and don’t really explain yourself. Can you tell me more about the flip n awesome paint you use and where do you get it. Thank you
I'm sorry, the purpose of this video was to discuss costs, not go into details about each of the products. However, I have so many videos talking about the products I use! The flip'n awesome paints are from the crystalac company! thecrystalacstore.com/products/flipn-awesome-3-in-1-paint-primer-built-in-top-coat?sca_ref=301559.RjXXsfrXmN

When I started I bought stainless steel tumblers at five below
Can you use any stainless steal tumblers?

Is it possible to add captions to this video for deaf folks? Thanks! Love your videos!
Yes I'm so sorry. I'm working on going through all of my videos to add captions!
So lets just say I use 500$ to buy all supplies how much will I gain out of that selling? I already own a cricut maker air 2.
well, you'd have to decide on how much you are selling your tumblers for and then calculate how many you'd have to sell to break even or start turning a profit :)
Would you recommend doing the universal white and the set of pigments or doing the flip’n awesome instead?
You have more flexibilty and more color options with the UW and Pigments. I recommend those first but i REALLY love the flip'n awesome :)

What difference does it make using say glitter from walmart vs the high quality glitter you reccomend? :)

I don't know the science if I'm being honest but the Walmart glitter may bleed or lose its sparkle 😭
@@AlisonCrafts I didnt know cheap glitter could bleed! Thank you!!

Hi!
Have u ever applied Brite tone on top of a powder coated tumbler? I would still and it down first and wash it etc but do u think Brite tone would work with it?
The powder coating needs to be removed first! You can use citristrip to do that.
Acetone works better and costs less
Thanks!! Just realized my words made no sense... It was supposed to say I'd sand it n wash it lol but thanks for the responses!!
How much it cost to make 1 glitter tumbler?
There are a lot of factors that go into it and really depends on the prices you pay for your materials
Good info! I’ve been buying supplies here and there trying to get started on things!
Alison do you sell vinal decals?
I don't typically but I could if you want to message me on instagram!
Just found your channel and love your videos. Many I ask, what font do you use for the on screen words that display during the videos? It is very pretty.
Thank you! It's called Gistesy.
Where is the glitter links

Lol it is way more than I anticipated, but at this point I'm committed, even if I only really make for family and friends. 🤣
Lol I definitely didn't pay attention when I first started but as I thought about making this video I was like dang... I know I've spent a lot of money 😂
I just started about 4 weeks ago and I have everything but the machine to do my own decals. Not sure about that.
Thank you so much for this really helped me out!
I just started and I’m a bit overwhelmed I’m hoping I can start a business for some extra money but I have no clue where to start
It's definitely overwhelming! I will have some videos coming up here soon that should help!
I didn’t know the “de-stash” groups were a thing. You may have just created a monster 😂
How do you know how much to charge for your tumblers to sell?
You should figure out your cost for supplies per tumbler and how long it takes you so you can figure in your hourly rate!
I'm in for about 10k. Plus, I purchased a very large home with crafting space in mind. Lol! I also have a brick and mortar shop. It is very easy to go down the rabbit hole. 🕳
Haha it is so easy!!
Yeah I just started and spent over 750.00

I went recently and saw several! Was pleasantly surprised!

For stripping cups use Acetone it's quicker and costs less.
I've actually been using Isopropyl Alcohol for the last few months, works great too!
