Thank you so much. I am just beginning my tumbler journey and your tutorial is the best I have seen. I am very nervous as tend to get very impatient. lol. But, I am challenging myself to have more patience with my crafts. Thank you again!
Hi, after the universal white, can i use acrylic paints? If yes, do i need to wait 48 hours before applying glitter glue and glitters? Thank you so much. I love all your videos and crystalac products 😍
I have a BruMate and I love the color, it's Mermaid! I would like to add a tattoo to it. Can I spray Zinsser Shellac, Bullseye clear on it and then use CrystaLac alone or do I need to have a base coat before using the CrystaLac? Thank you.
I'm new to sublimating tumblers. As a result, I've ruined a couple of tumblers. Could I use one the the prep process you mention in this video, to remove the sublimating coating off the tumblers?
I had a question I told my mom I wanted to start doing the whole tumbler thing and she when out and bought me 12 white color stainless steel tumblers. The ones from Michael's. I was wondering if I needed to sand them down and also if that is going to take the white off of the tumbler?
Ummm that cup behind you!!! 😍😍😍😍 love it! So my question is kind of related to that cup. I have flip n awesome, can I use that as a base for my cup and then bling it with rhinestones? Also when sanding your cup did you use water? Or just dry sanding?
:) :) :) Flip'n awesome can definitely be used as a base! Just make sure you obviously prep first and id do like 2 coats of your base color! Then, you can bling it! I use supertite fusion tack glue to add my rhinestones! And when you sand to prep, i dry sand and wash it down when i'm done!
Awesome!!! Thank you!!! I also use supertite fusion tack! But usually use spray paint but I live in the Midwest and it’s freezing outside so I purchased the flip n awesome to try out so I can paint inside!! Thank you so much for the help!!
Hello, New to making Tublers. If you buy a tumbler that already has a color on it. Such as from walmart or so, and they are black, green, etc. Do you have to sand the cup all the way to the the stainless steel color or just enough for the water to fall off. Thanks
Hi Alison! Can I use something different than the Krud Kutter Metal Etch? I cannot find it anywhere and cannot buy it online. I hate sanding that coating off. lol
Question. If I use the Zinsser Shellac to prep. Could I leave the tumbler silver. Then add Brite Tone and glitter? Or would I add Brite Tone let dry 4 hours then add Brite Tone again and glitter?
So after putting a base on the cup I don’t need to epoxy it before adding my glitter? Just epoxy it after the glitter? Can arylic paint like from Walmart work as a base?
You just need something to adhere the glitter with - lots of people use epoxy to do that. Acrylic paint really isn't a good base - a primer paint with rust inhibitors is a way better choice!
@@AlisonCrafts Awesome! Sounds good. If I wanted the cup a different color than the base that is white spray paint would I acrylic paint over that when it dries? Or no acrylic paint at sll
After the 3 coats of shellac the tumblers are ready to paint ? No washing or rinsing ? I can see a film on mine. Did I use too much or is it supposed to look like that ?
Question. What if you think you’ve sanded enough and put on your base coat, how will you know if you didn’t. Sanding worries me. Which method do you prefer? I sanded for 3 hours today.
What if you don't have the 220 sandpaper to prep your tumbler? I also don't have the money to buy the other options to prep the tumbler. I have 400 grit sandpaper
I am soo confused. So 220 grit is to sand for prep? & then 400 grit is to sand after some layers of crystalac is on tumbler? Plss help. Bcuz I ended up buying 400grit.. should I get 220 instead or also...?? Thanks !!
Can't be used as a base coat. They don't have the bonding agents or rust inhibitors. They can be used over a primer though. so if you want to use them, you could paint them over the universal white.
Krud cutter....when it's prepped with it do you have to base paint it immediately..or can you let it sit like until the weekend before you base paint it

I love your videos because you not only explain it but you show it!
Thank you, I'm so glad they're helpful!!
Thank you for specifying how long it should take for spray paint to dry!
You're welcome!
Hi, thank you for doing these awesome tutorials. You mentioned that spray paint can be used, but what kind?
My tumblers that I order are original white. Is it still the same process to sand? Or would I have buy the these type of tumblers?

I honestly don't know, i'm sorry!
I cant find krudd cutter anywhere. 😞
can you lightly sand AND then spray with shellac? Would that be beneficial?
With acrylic paint pours do you seal with matte clear rustoleum?
I'm new to sublimating tumblers. As a result, I've ruined a couple of tumblers. Could I use one the the prep process you mention in this video, to remove the sublimating coating off the tumblers?
just give it a sand and you can cover the tumbler with crystalac!
Can the tumblers be cleaned after the shellac? They have a bit of dirt (trees and breeze) from spraying outdoors. Thank you!
Ive seen some use white shrink wrap…. What is this for

If they're powder coated they need to be stripped down to the stainless!
@@AlisonCrafts how do you tell if it is power coated or just painted. Thanks

There is a metal prep and etch you can get too
If I accidentally touch the spray painted tumbler while it's still wet, should I re-sand it & then re-spray it?
Can I sand my acrylic clear tumblers as prepping for epoxy resin
how long do you have to wait for the universal white to dry before you start with your epoxy?
What happens if you don't prep your cup? Will the brite tone or gf won't work?
Hold up you can use bright tone as a base coat?! Meaning you could do say a stainless steel peekaboo?
yes you can!

Hey Alison , could it be possible to use the curd kutter to strip a cup as well ?
I've never tried but i dont think so

after the shellac they're ready to use as is. You probably used a little too much.
Can water base acrylic paint be used for the base color?
Did you ever find out? I’ve asked several questions on this channel and some others and never get answers. Maybe you can help me.
@@Sheepshit no didn't get an answer
I have a stainless steal cup that I want to put vinyl decals and seal with crystallac. Would I follow this same prep process?
yep!
Question. What if you think you’ve sanded enough and put on your base coat, how will you know if you didn’t. Sanding worries me. Which method do you prefer? I sanded for 3 hours today.
What grit sand paper? It usually only takes me a few minutes of sanding. I just do the water test to see if it's ready
@@AlisonCrafts 180-200. I sand for hours sometimes and it still won't sheet off.
Same
Can you use krud cutter to prep a sublimation tumbler?
I recommend using shellac or jsut clear spray paint! Or you can jsut sand!
Hello can u use the shellec liquid instead?
I think so but i have never tried
Is the same sanding process used in glass wine glasses?
yes
Can you do one without glitter and just a vinyl decal finish?
Yes
If I want to add just vinyl do I have to prep
What about the acrylic tumblers?
Here is a video on acrylic tumblers: ua-cam.com/video/TaC5k7HZnFM/v-deo.html
Which Krud kutter? There is a lot.

400 is really not enough for prep. Maybe a neighbor has some extra sand paper you could use?
