Hello, im just wonder what are the measurements for the image? What program did you use to print?. Im currently struggling to get a full covered cup like this. I doing 8.2x9.4 and it still falls short where it will not cover the entire cup. Thank you for your time.
The dimensions vary based on the brand of tumbler. I often have to go up to 9.5 inches for some tumblers. 8.2 has alway been tall enough for me, but again, it depends on the tumbler brand. I print from Inkscape.
Yes, you should. You can get there!!! I messed up several tumblers before I got to where they were looking great! Mostly from not wrapping/taping well, and also having too much pressure.
Good morning Ms. Marilyn. I been looking for one of your live on the settings for the brightness, contrast, saturation & density for sublimation. I really appreciate your help, thank you
I have the basic default settings on for those when printing for almost all of my sublimation items. I do change the paper setting to premium presentation matte and I change the print quality to high. Other than those two things, I leave everything else alone.
My first several tumblers were not very good so if you are having issues, keep at it. It is so much fun and so pretty when you find the process that works for you.

You need it firm enough to touch the tumbler and keep it in place but not super tight. Let me know if you find a solution.

After you do the first one, does the press get back up to the temperature that you used on the first one before you put the second one in? Temperature is the only thing I can think of that it might be.
I have bought tumblers from Alibaba, but I mostly get my tumblers off of Amazon. I have used various brands, all with great results. You mentioned you have a subscription for the images to sublimated, but can any printer or ink be used? Or is it special paper? I'm new to this, so I was wondering. Other than that, I enjoyed your video! ❤
I'm so sorry I didn't explain all that very well. You need to use sublimation ink, but you can purchase a true sublimation printer or you can use an epson ecotank printer and put sublimation ink into it instead of the ink that comes with it. I have information in the video description as to my printer and then I linked the ink and paper in the video description. Thanks so much for watching!
I would like to do this myself and a several questions if you don't mind answering them would be great? What do you use to get your designs and is there a current software you have to have to do this on your computer? Do you know if you can convert a printer you already own to do sublimation? I would also like to know what you do to make your shirts? Is it sublimation or something else?
I get most of my designs from Creative Fabrica. I have an annual membership. You can use any design software and some people even print from programs like Microsoft word or Cricut Design Space (size limitations though). Personally, I would recommend a design software such as Inkscape. I use Inkscape to print my designs and it is free. To convert a printer you already have, you would have to take all of the ink out first, including that which is in your tubes, and you may have to flush it out, but I am not sure on that. There are videos on doing it, though. And not all printers are good for doing this. Epson Ecotanks are often used as sublimation printers. On shirts, I use sublimation, vinyl, the dtf/sublimation hack, rhinestones, etc. So, I have various methods that I use. Thanks so much for watching! And let me know if you have more questions.
Are you using sublimation ink and sublimation ready tumblers? If it is not transferring at all, that is what I would think is happening - not using either the right ink or tumblers. What time and temp are you using?
Hi, do you leave the sublimation paper on the tumbler to cool down completely before removing it, I take mine off while it's still hot and sometimes the picture isn't always as vibrant, am I doing it wrong please 👍
I do not wait for the tumbler to cool. Factors that I have found affect vibrancy - what paper are you using, what print settings are you using, are you using too much pressure (that can cause problems too), are you undercooking or overcooking your tumblers? I find that brown and dark red tumblers are really finicky. I was overcooking them and found that less time resulted in a much better color for me. Also, are you using a press or a convection oven.
I use Inkscape and I resize the image in the program to the exact size I need. I made a spreadsheet for different types of tumblers so I know what size to make it. Then when I print the image I just cut off the excess and it wraps perfectly to the other side every time.
AWESOME tutorial and the tumbler came out SO beautiful! I am SO happy that I found this video, as well as your channel! Thank you very much! ❤👏 Stacie in the Youngstown, Ohio area.
Would 45 and 45 work or would the 20 be needed as well? Thinking about getting this one because I keep getting ghosting with the oven even though it was fine before. 30oz just isn’t working in the oven for me.
I do not put anything on my tumblers. But if you wanted to, you could spray them with a clear protective coating that is made to not yellow over time. I think it might be UV resistant or something like that.
I have two printers for sublimation. The Epson Ecotank 2760 (which prints on regular sized paper) and the Epson Ecotank 15000. The 2760, being regular size, was far less than the 15000.
Tumbler looks great! I just recently got into tumbler making, well honestly just did my very first one today lol. I have a question do the tumblers kinda bend a little? Mine was a little bend if that makes sense, my husband had to make it go round again on the top so the lid could fit. I was wondering if maybe the press was to tight or is this normal? Sorry for long message
It sounds like the pressure was too much. The tumbler should not bend. I did that also on one of my first tumblers 🙂 it took me several tumble before I felt good about how my tumblers looked. Thank goodness for UA-cam University 😀
I use the butcher's paper to protect my press. Sometimes sublimation ink seeps through the back side of the sublimation paper and I want to keep my press from getting ink on it.
I use premium presentation paper with high quality setting. I also use the extra dry time feature. Other than that, I use the basic settings that are defaulted on my computer.

I make one early and either I butn it or take out too soon. Love your video thanks 🙏🏾. So its 2x 45sec and 1x 20 sec right?
I have tried various timings. I used to do 50, 50, 20, 20, but how I think the 45, 45, 20 is sufficient.
So you only put on press for right at 2 minutes?
Yes, close to 2 minutes. It's much quicker in a press than a sublimation oven when you are only making one or two tumblers.
Can you recommend a cheaper printer
@@MakingwithMarilyn thank you so very much for replying back and I’m going to adjust the pressure.
Why do u have to use the baker paper?
I use the butcher's paper to protect my press. Sometimes sublimation ink seeps through the back side of the sublimation paper and I want to keep my press from getting ink on it.
What sub paper do you use? Beautiful cup😊
Thank you! I used one of HTV Ront's sublimation papers. I almost always use this paper when I am printing on 8.5 x 11 paper. amzn.to/44yFuex
What is the name of the svg that you got from Creative Fabrica?
Here is a link to it. www.creativefabrica.com/product/comic-style-pop-art-girls/ref/1340608/
What are your printer settings for your epson?
I use premium presentation paper with high quality setting. I also use the extra dry time feature. Other than that, I use the basic settings that are defaulted on my computer.
Do u put any type of sealer afterwards?
No, I did not put any sealer on it.
Great video, question for you. ? What printer did you used to print the image, that came out great
I was on UA-cam responding to comments when yours popped up:) I used an Epson Ecotank 15000 with Hiipoo Sublimation Ink in it. Thanks for the comment!
