Sorry but the entire video shows how to use Canva while violating Canva rules. PRO and FREE Canva elements can not be used as you showed here.
The tutorial is good but you need to state all elements on all pages must be imported images from other sources. Canva elements can not be used like this.
I would like to ask you, if i want to make a children’s book with AI illustrations where is the best way to do it, because i tried with Canva and Midjerney and they make all illustrations different
@@MarinaArtDesign yes they can. If you’re making your own art from elements you can use it, it’s in their terms of service.
The only issue is if you just smacked a single element on a white background and tried to sell it as a sticker unaltered.

To add margin easily in CANVA, after creating the new design
Go to file - > click on settings - > click on add guides - > click on custom - > column = 1, Gap = 0, Margin = 0.375 becomes 0.38
Row = 1, Gap = 0, margin = 0.375 becomes 0.38
Add guides this will result in perfect Margins.

I still am getting rejected it’s saying that I need to increase margins so my content isn’t trimmed 😩 I adjusted all my measurements and want bleed, do I not need to drag my illustrations to the end of the page?

Thank you so much for the most simple, clear, and comprehensive explanation how to amazon kdp from beginning to end! And now I will share with you the simplest good word for the day: The good word of the day is you are perfect, righteous,and holy according to the words of Hebrews chapter 10 verse 14 in the KJV version (that has everything listed in past-tense, which is important because then it means we do not have to do anything anymore to become perfect in front of God because He has already done everything for us). “For by one offering He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.” Although at work or school it is based on how well we did, in terms of going to heaven it says here that it is based on how well He did. Did He do a good job in putting all the sins of the world to Jesus? He did. That’s why when He sees you, you are perfect forever. No longer condemn /or blame yourself/ call yourself a sinner/ask for forgiveness because Jesus has already taken all the blame so much that God can only call you perfect. Amen. So yeah I’m working on this theme as a children’s story so wish me luck

Excellent content. Thanks for the tips. You're a great teacher. Question: Do you remove the cover template behind the illustration when finished? or does it matter?
Thank you for your very kind words and support! For me, I usually don't bother removing the cover template and it has never been an issue for me as I ensure my background elements that I layer on top of it fully covers it. I also flatten the PDF when I export it from Canva (same as what I showed in the video tutorial). However, I have seen some comments that people are being asked by Amazon to remove the cover template, so I would say, if it is not too hard, then just remove it to avoid any problems. Otherwise just make sure it is fully covered and also "flatten" it when exporting, and I think that should be fine at least based on personal experience :) Hope this helps!

Nervous because I see people saying that using canva elements is a copyright violation. But why would it be available if that’s the case since canva is used for designing purposes. Anyway super nervous now about getting approved BUT honestly used your video the ENTIRE time and it helped me so so much thank you thank you 🙏🙏

Interesting to watch as an illustrator. I probably won’t use AI for the visual aspect, but great to see how Canva works. So much more intuitive/user friendly than Adobe InDesign!

Thanks for your kind comment! Regarding your question - I just created the initial square and then used the "Ctrl+C" and "Ctrl+V" to copy and paste the additional squares to create the margins on the other sides of the page. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your video. I am in the process of finalizing my childrens book, however I think I did it backwards. I did the writing ,storyboard and finishing up the pics. I am just now looking at what dimensions I want to use for the book. I was thinking of either 8.5 x 8.5 or 10 x 8. What did you end up going with on your book? Ivy you style teaching is great! I have a question. Can I design my kdp childrens book in two page spreads? With pg 1 + 2 having the same background and combined action covering both pages. Saving the double pages as PDF and uploading to KDP. Or do I have to upload as individual pages?

Thank you for an amazing video. I created my first e book on Canva and would like to publish it on KDP. When I try to upload the manuscript it tells me that my "ZIP file contains files in the wrong format. Zip files can only contain HTML files and images. Other formats shouldn't be compressed into a ZIP file. What am I doing wrong in Canva?
Don't upload if you used Canva elements. Canva graphics, free or pro are not allowed to be used in KDP.

Thank you for your kind comment and regarding your question, there isn't any KDP rule I'm aware of re: which amazon marketplace you can sell in (unless for whatever reason you are restricted from selling in diff. countries for your particular book). How did you make your PDF file from Canva to be 300 dpi, because I saw that before uploading on Amazon, they required us to make it at least 300 dpi? Please let me know. Thank you.

Regarding your question, if you are using Canva elements, you don't have to worry, as the quality will be sufficient to ensure your KDP books turn out to have good resolution. However, if you use ai images generated from other platforms, then I would definitely recommend upscaling them before using them for your books. Hope this helps!
Hi Ivy your tutorials are always so helpful and you explain things really precisely, i have a story ready , but i am wondering if Ai image's won't create a issue with kdp n 2nd using canva elements hope its safe n thirdly without reviews is it alright to use advertising fr promoting your book?
Thank you for your very kind comment! Regarding your question - AI images are allowed to be used for KDP. You will just have to be transparent about the amount of AI you used when you publish your book (KDP will ask you at the time of upload). Re: Canva, you should always make sure you layer multiple elements to create a unique design and never use any canva elements on a standalone basis. Also given Cava's TOS tends to get updated quite often, it would be best to check at the time of publishing to confirm latest requirements. Regarding advertising, you can certainly put ads on your book even without reviews (although your ads may not be as effective because people may click on your ad, see that you have no reviews and not certain if they should buy, and then they don't buy....then you end up having to pay for that ad click). However, I know some people find ads to be effective for gaining visibility in those early days even without reviews, so it is really a personal choice :)
@ivyhang5084 Thanks Ivy again for such clear guidance, with regard to Ai n canva elements. So reviews do seem to be very important, which is what I understand . Living outside of US it does make it Lil difficult to get local reviews. I saw in other kdp channels talk about platforms like Pubby fr reviews ,especially for middle n high content books ,would need to explore n understand it . Thanks once again.

I have a question regarding your copyright page - do you have suggestions for what language to use on that page in particular? Did you utilize a general copyright format? I was wondering in regards to KDP if there is a suggested format - especially since watching your video regarding Canva Licensing and Copyright.

Thank you for your kind comment :) Regarding your question, I've seen various different wording being used in copyright pages for KDP kids books, but generally they revolve around not allowing the book to be reproduced or used in any other manner without written permission from the publisher / author.
