So funny you said this.... my first thought was “do a cute little bumble bee first, resin, then the flower, resin, then another bumble bee opposite side.” I know what I’m going to be doing this weekend 😶
Beautiful just lovely I love what Victoria said about multiple layers with a 3D effect brilliant I was thinking the same thing love 3D effect. Steve have you ever made a coi pond? 3D effect multiple layers for that would be awesome 👌 thank you again for a great video. I really want to buy you a few coffees I just can't find where to do that.
Wow, what a great idea. I could even imagine 2 stencils on two clear layers and a third layer like the blue at the back, to show depth. Like them both, and the blue is my favorite. Some false eyelash glue is plain latex (check the ingredients). It dries clear and makes a good sizing glue if somebody just wants a little bit to try. TY for this excellent addition to our toolkits. 😊
Hi Steve! They came out lovely. Would you please get a sheet of heavy white card stock paper as a base to show your finished pieces on? The light blue work mat is a pretty color but it makes it hard to see the colors and finished pieces. Thanks!
I've recently come across your channel as I'm new to resin art and been binge watching all of your uploads while I'm also recovering from flu! Have learned so much about resin and been inspired so much because of you thank you x I have many stencils as I also make celebration cakes and decoupage using mixed media as well as clay - resin is now being incorporated in to that in the way of embellishments as well as making stand alone pieces. Like you, I just love to upcycle and repurpose things. Isn't it fabulous how a lot of crafters often have many different creative interests? I love your videos and your energy, you do make me smile and chuckle! Thank you x
I love that you have “will this work?” videos where you try an unconventional technique. You are opening so many doors for artistic creativity! And these turned out SOOO beautiful. They’re both fantastic but I’m a big fan of the clear one.
Painting in multiple layers with resin between has a wonderful 3D effect that I’m obsessed with. I’m just imagining a decorative window with flowers and waterfowl in this style with micca.
Steve, I don't even know where you get your ideas, but I'm so grateful! I have lots of stencils I bought for working with clay, and I've heard you can do designs on cured resin and then coat, but this is a game changer. I think I will use my uv curing nail art glue. You just paint it on, cure it (it remains sticky) and then you can stick on foil or powders or glitters. It's also great for decals.❤️ to you, my friend!
I like both of them. With the clear one you can see the flower from both sides. The one with the background color sets off the flower. Both are lovely. 🤗
Before I watched this video, I tried out using Mica powders on a stencil, direct onto the coaster mould and it worked out very well. I have also had success with the etching idea using Baby Lotion, but found a thicker Body Butter worked even better! ❤
I love both of them!!!Each has its own unique characteristics... And I'm seeing so many future uses for each one!! When I learn to make the trays with a little lip on them I think I will do this around the edges. Also, maybe a clear coaster set with feathers in them using this idea. Thank you so much
Awesome idea! I don't know if anyone else has suggested this, but I wonder if you could achieve an etched glass effect if you used white Matt mica powder sandwiched between two clear resin layers? I'd love to see a video trying this.
I used that technique to make a keyring for hubby with a Scotland rugby emblem from a face painting stencil. :) They look great, I prefer the blue one but then again I just love blue 💙 lol
Thanks so much!! I’ve got so many stencils but every time I use them my mica leaks user the stencil and the picture is very distorted! This glue trick is fabulous ❣️❣️❣️
Put black paper under the stencil then put the mold on top. Only works with transparent molds. Also use a sponge tiny make up applicator. They work fabulously.
They both turned out beautiful. I have been using mica powder in my resin work but I put it directly on the mold and then slowly pour the resin over it and it still comes out perfectly. Maybe give that a try.
Love these, I think I like the blue one better, but both are lovely. Your new camera angles are awesome too. Like someone else mentioned, a white base to show off the final results would be great to really see the colours. Great work as usual!
These are beautiful, what a lovely effect, can you use a stencil taped straight onto the mold and use nail varnish? Then remove stencil when nail varnish is dry then pour the resin.
Outstanding! I like both but of course the coaster with mica powder sparkles so that would be my favorite. Like you I have sooo many stencils - this is an ideal way to finally utilize them. Thank you yet again for sharing your process!
What a lovely effect! You could do multiple layers and give it a 3D effect!!💜
Omgoodness, great idea!

BRILLIANT!
We have ESP I was thinking the same thing I love 3D effect

OMG this has given a new lease of life to my stencils and another reason to make my own with my scan and cut. 😃👍🏽

I like the clear one the best I haven’t really gotten into resin pouring yet I’m just getting started
I really like the new camera angles. You are amazing. Love them.
Thanks again Steve for all your help with the questions I never get around to checking myself you are heaven sent

This is awesome. I am new to resin and love it. Do you think I could use Elmer’s glue on stensils
Those look absolutely amazing my friend!!!!!!! I will be saving this video for future reference!!!!!!!
What a lovely idea. Another way to use our stencils.
They both turned out fantastically!

What a FABULOUS idea for securing the mica applause applause!!! Can't wait to try it👍🙏
Like watch you do.I like your idea with the stencil sheet I have a few my self!! Will try it out! Big thanks from Canada Quebec,

Love them both. I will definitely be trying this out
I like both of them. With the clear one you can see the flower from both sides. The one with the background color sets off the flower. Both are lovely. 🤗
Both are lovely. The blue one pops better than the clear.
I love that I’ve only just started to do resin crafting as in key rings crosses etc but really don’t know what I can use in resin and what you can’t
Before I watched this video, I tried out using Mica powders on a stencil, direct onto the coaster mould and it worked out very well. I have also had success with the etching idea using Baby Lotion, but found a thicker Body Butter worked even better! ❤
Only just started with resin love your stencils thank you
They are beautiful. I like both. Not sure which is better. If I had to choose I would choose the colored one.
Got stencils galore so quite excited with this tutorial. Thanks Steve. 😊
Thanks, cool idea! I haven't worked with resin yet but I like the clear one so far for this technique.
I love this idea and I’m going to try it myself
The blue is definitely my favourite, love this idea. Great video.
They are both beautiful.
What a lovely outcome!
They both are gorgeous
I think that's a wonderful idea I think I'll use that the next time I play with my resin thank you Steve
They are both beautiful, I really like the one with the blue background!

Looks great!! I like the blue one
Really nice...so many possibilities!
Both are so beautiful !!!
One of the best resin artists I've seen. Great job.
Thanks for sharing a great idea.
Oh. It's so beautiful! Thank you for sharing❤
I think they both came out beautiful😊

Love the colored one! Nice to know you can use stencils..
They look really nice.
Thanks!
What a great idea, will definitely be giving that a try. They would be great as coasters
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts awww that's beautiful
So sòooo BEAUTIFUL TECNIQUE
I like the one with the mica powder background.
Very impressive, they look lovely.
Very beautiful I think that with the colored one a darker green would show up more
I like the coloured one best.
perfect to use on a tray or candy tray or even a notebook mould.
I love both..I've done this...
Beautiful both of them ... great job
What is the advantage to Gold leaf glue versus modge podge or other glues?
Thanks!
Beautiful will definitely try this technique
You are creative and deserve more subscribers, I hope you can get your credit
This is your second video I've seen. I subscribed and rang that bell. Great work.
I have following you for some time and find myself watching the videos over and over. I guess you could say you are timeless and sweet
Love those!!! Fantastic idea! I'm going to definetely try this myself!😍
What a great idea!! Thank you again for another awesome tutorial!

Yes very good idea and the 3d idea is a great one too...cant wait to try it myself..thanks for all the training !!!
Loved them both!
I LOVE the blue mica one!❤
Both are lovely.

The one with just clear resin looks great. The one with the blue would probably look better with just a bit of dye to color it but without the mica.
I love the clear one. These turned out so nice. Thanks.
Very pretty thank you for all your experiments
They both turned out beautiful. I have been using mica powder in my resin work but I put it directly on the mold and then slowly pour the resin over it and it still comes out perfectly. Maybe give that a try.
I love both of them..
What a fab idea!!
If you brush mica powder in molds it actually will work. Try it in moulds
I love them both.
I'm hooked! Best of luck on your endeavors ❤

Beautiful, beautiful
So fun to follow your experiments and learn. I like both results.
I liked the little flower
Have you ever used rubbing alcohol tonpop bubbles? These came out splendidly!
Blue backed one is my fave ❤
I've done this with acrylic paint but not the micro powders. Thank you for sharing ❤️
Love this idea thank you for sharing
I like both but clear is my fav
I am so glad I stumbled onto this video. Now I know what to do with my tons of stencils other than my wood working. Thank you so much 😊
Thanks for increasing my possibilities. They are so pretty.
That's awesome..Thanks for sharing..I loved both of them.
hey Steve i love them but where can i find the gold leaf glue?
They came out really well. I was banking on the clear to come out best but i really liked the blue one too. Great idea!
I love your channel.. I do keep sharing your channel
Beautiful love ❤️ the blue
Love it will be trying this x
I’ve never seen this done! Wow good job
Good idea 👍 I have loads of stencils as well
Thank You for answering my question and for your awesome experiments.
