26:46 Why not drop a city after the first pop? Gives you winning rolls with the 4 and 5, 4/5 and 9, or a single 10. Is it about fending off the robber?
I do agree the 9 points that turn is cleaner and move likely the better play. I calculated monos and VPs still alive in the deck so if I snag a VP while grabbing monos or knights, I can easily close out the game. I also wanted to get the last VP as a defensive measure against md pulling it.
@@dandydrew Catan players often say that they buy devs so that other players would not get VPs. But buying devs does not decrease chance of other players getting them. If there are 5 devs left and one of them is VP, then each of them has 20% chance to be VP. If you buy 2 devs then each of the 3 devs left still have 20% chance to be VP. Because even though there is 40% chance that you will reduce it to 0%, there is also 60% chance that you will increase it to 33%.
Awesome game and really up and down throughout! I had a question about why you decided to settle on the 9 4 11 over thr 9 4 2. In my mind the 9 4 2 would be 1 less pip of production but you would gain a road settle spot on either the 6 2 or the 5 2 depending on which way you face your road. Not to mention that the road settle spot would be on more sheep and a new number and potentially the wheat port which might come in handy if 9s are rolling or you pull a mono and the 6s and 8s are rolling? Just my thoughts. It was a great game though and you did end up winning!
Awesome game, i got two questions since idk the discord could you provide the link? 2) when you pace too fast and the boards focus you with 20+robs to the stone age, what can you do to get out of that? I have a tendency of pacing to fast and when i slow it down it's too slow. Playing ows is 10+ robs and fast road settlements also runs into same issue. Im thinking i slow down and trade for dev cards more.
Why wouldnt you point your road right on 5 9 10? You would discourage the second player for going to 3:1 and lock the board more with 6 5 11 like you suggested. Also you would double up 9 since you had slight excess of ore. It didnt matter in the game since you calculated well but just from the instincts I would be too scared of someone going 8 10. Very nice game!
@@happydog4095 Yeah, that would be a bit tough, but it doesn't happen. If it did you would still have one settle, rather than losing the race and having none.
It's called "colonist" and it can run on a PC in a browser. It's pretty poorly optimized though; it's much more demanding on CPU and GPU than your average flash game of yore...
Why not use monopoly in the second to last turn? It seems you have the guaranteed win with knight, so sucking out some resources out of the other players' hands seems like a good idea, or not?

Is there not a value in making that decision and knowing what's in the deck?

Good chance you lose the race as the OWS player, plus it gives you one easy settle rather than the two that you typically need in this sort of game.

Not if someone takes the 8 10

Real question:
is it common Catan speak to say “here” when referring to any current state of the game?
Is this a app or just pc play possible , love playing Catan

Link to the game?
Is it balanced or random dice setup? just curious.
Hello! It’s always random for 4p games :)

Whining about “table talk” in a social game is pathetic, real bad look from blue.
