DandyCrew, happy Wednesday to you. Look… I know I am horrible with moving the map around on screen. I get into the game and don’t see it 😅 If it happens in future games then I’ll let you decide a future “consequence”. The comment with the most likes under this one wins. Stay great and keep that board in the center! ❤
love the games! Always watch these around my lunch time. If you move the board and forget to fix it. You have to type in a lame pun from the internet into the game chat!
At 28:00 if you he kept 2 wheat, 6 brick, and stole the two woods on the 7 and the knight from Black who only had 2 wood, then you have the win with a ported city.
Dandy is much better than me but I was losing my mind when he didn’t keep 6 brick and 2 wheat for the potential city play. But I guess he was thinking of porting the wheat for road
I guess at this time it's putting a target on him. He did really well by flying under the radar with that setup and wasn't robbed that much till late game.
agree. He could have build roads for days after getting the sheep port. I mean, interesting to pop likke a gazillion devs instead of putting yourself two roads from winning with 2 dope ports live
Who the heck sees that setup as a potential winner? The 9, 10, 11 gives you wood and ore and you are one road from the wood port and getting some brick. Only Le Chevre sees the potential in placements like that and takes it to the winners circle! You are Le Chevre indeed, Dandy Drew!
blocking everyone from brick and then always getting the 2:1 trades is what it takes to have a chance. I guess all the 7s counteracted the 2 Monos. the rest is the opponents just beeing worse then him.
That would only get him 7 roads, a tie. But if he kept 2 wheat, 6 brick, and stole the two woods on the 7 and the knight, then he has the win with a city.
lol, the beef between orange and red is what ulitimately gave you the win (apart for the 2 monos and 3 vps...lol). Red in the end was robbed 12 times, mostly by orange who kept robbing him all game, even at the cost of selfblocking and when it was very clear you were at 9 already and had a much clearer path to win, having 2 ports and both the options of 1+ with settlement or city. Not to talk about the last ore trade where he basically traded you the win. I guess he really didn't want red to win.
Drew: Alright guys I'm in the top 60. It's gunna start getting tough. I'm trying to get into the top ten. Also Drew: I mean hey if it goes wrong it goes wrong. Might as well have some fun.
I dig the set up. Ballsy. Locked up the brick so it's you they have to turn to. Robber on your turn is always brutal. But you produced a lot so it's your own fault. ;) LOL chat didn't like your second mono. :) That ending was really hard to watch each time the 7 rolled. Great you pulled it out! I think everyone was getting hit with the 7s so that probably helped you as well.
I think this video illustrates a big difference between competitive Catan and the games I play, the term "tradability" does not apply In my home games you usually get stiffed on trades and they rob you for the rare resource you might have
at 29:36 I'm pretty sure you had the win, black had 2 wood in hand and you had 3 wheat and only needed that last wood. but great game, way to trade youself into a great position!
i think not building on the 9-10 was a mistake. i think you wanted to build the extra road along the 9 to open up a settlement spot spot on the 10 brick. But that action cost you two roads (for the two settlements) and delayed you in building. If you built on the 9-10 (brick-wheat) immediately you could have used those two roads to build around the 9-6(wheat-sheep) to settle on the 9-12. This would have made for a more efficient settlement and would have allowed for a continuous road network. Excellent game otherwise - the trading was inspired.
Epic game. Everybody is grown-up except orange :D. I think you hugged 9wheat from the wrong side - could have joined all your roads into a single line.
Why did you build a road by the outside to sheep port instead of thru the 9/6/12 route, also why settle on the 9 wood port instead of the 9/10 wood port, wldve hit the longest road faster
Was this filmed before that video with Rayman? Because Dandy was talking about how it's important to clear the hand and buy devs early game and instead holds out for cities.
It’s a setup that requires hustling and a keen understanding of the overall board dynamic. I would advise MOST people to take the 91011 and work that position.
@@dandydrew I mean I get it, if you can extract political value from this setup it can be better than the 9:10:11 The two setups are pretty close as-is
This might be a weird thing to say, but I think the skill you're lacking in the most with online catan is actually typing speed. I see you in a lot of situations where trades could save you if you could offer them faster, it's something that's helped me in a ton of games. Maybe try grinding out some typeracer sometime? :p
Funny enough, my current setup has my keyboard in an uncomfortable position to make room for my microphone. So typing can be a pain sometimes. Eventually I will order a hanging stand for my microphone so it’s not in the way.
@@DanielSong39 8 10 is a great pick and offloads the sheep nicely. 91011 is a good pick but really doesn’t excite me too much in terms of getting an advantage.
In fourth position, would 8,4,5 and 9,10,11 (point up) be a better pick? I don't see anyone wanting the 6,9,2 since they all have great wheat and fourth could then build to it. Even if they don't get it, wheat should be very tradable. It also locks a big chunk of the board.
Please help me guys, how are the numbers on the colonist set up? What is the system used? I cant seem to find it anywhere, and they are definitely not random.
Great game! Can’t believe you win with 3 resources, the trading was so good! Would it be another option if you tried to port for road and start building to the 12! At 26:09? That way you could building for road and the potential settlement for the last point!
Ah 8-10 it was!! :) Someone had this idea in the comments of your post. Very smart, my guess of 8-5-10 would have lost the 3:1 port to black, probably.
I'm very co fused on the settlement on the 9. The explanation was what yellow wrote on the chat, that you wanted to get another setlle on the 1. This makes no sense to me. Before you settled on the 9 it was already impossible to get 3 settles on the 10 due to your settle on the top right of the 9. So trying to get more on the 10 doest make sense, I'd you settled on the 9 10 port you'd have the maximum 2 settles on the 10 brick that is allowed by the game-state. Can someone provide the actual reason to settle on the 9 instead of the 9 10
At 28:45 if you realize that black cards are the 2 wood that he just got you could go for the city! Keep 2 wheat + 6 brick + steal 2 wood. Hard to see under pressure tho. I didnt saw it live, only in another comment. Great game!! I was happy that you won!!
Missed city efficiency by not placing settlement at 9&10. Logic provided didn’t give you 3 settlements on 10. Sheep was going to be inefficient anyways.
Hey Robijs, nice playing with you. Unfortunate we dealt with some toxicity but it was a good, close game overall. Best of luck on the leaderboard in the final week!
You need to port your resources to stay below the 7. Ray, in your previous video, said it's like being robbed 4 times. Did you take anything away from the last video from Ray when you played this game?

I think you have to run a costal pick next game 😂 something real wild
First pick has to be costal. :)
Speak with a foreign accent for an entire video
I honestly didn't even notice
God I love reading people argue on the chat
Naming yourself Donttalkmuch is just ironic

Just came to comment the same thing

Not taking double road to the Sheep port killed me.

It's so much fun watching yo get so excited even though you are such an experienced player. Your excitement is contagious.
I have never watched a Catan game, but still found this fun to watch
This was a crazy game. You had the win at 29 min if you used the knight since blacks hand was only wood so you would’ve been guaranteed to get it
That would only get him 7 roads, a tie. But if he kept 2 wheat, 6 brick, and stole the two woods on the 7 and the knight, then he has the win with a city.
Amazing game. Only you can win with that set up haha.
3 cities with no ore, multiple roads with no wood 😂😂
lol, the beef between orange and red is what ulitimately gave you the win (apart for the 2 monos and 3 vps...lol). It's a board game; we're watching this guy play an online bootleg of it

i guess one + about unique setups is, its harder too see the potential of it.
Exactly! The value of being off the radar and getting trades early is huge here.

Most unique setup I've ever seen haha. gg
I've had that kind of setup a few times and usually you finish with 7 points or fewer, Orange speeds away with the OWS and you're dead
It’s a setup that requires hustling and a keen understanding of the overall board dynamic. I would advise MOST people to take the 91011 and work that position.

I love this. Games with unusual setups are my favorite.
Ah, this is the same board as the one on the community post! Wild pick dandy, never would’ve guessed😂
Dandy knew the 9-10-11 was the better pick but picked the 8-10 because he thought it would be cooler
You only live once, might as well have fun

Here is a great video by another fellow catan UA-camr that talks all about this in detail! ua-cam.com/video/1xqeU-lSeUA/v-deo.htmlsi=mJLzmpAtPCHGiRmA
Thank you so much man, finally it makes sense to me why the games are so different online compared to my offline board ones :D @@dandydrew

I don’t understand the last discard. If you kept 2 wheat and 6 brick, you win by stealing an ore. What am I missing?
Back to the meme videos LOL
Well it was a fun game, sometimes you just play for the entertainment
Not me talking to the tv asking you to please center the board and zoom 😂
Can Colonist just add a lock board feature and save us all?! 😂
This game was nuts! What a unique setup

Ahh on that brick and wheat 7 out at the end it looks like if you kept two wheat and stole an ore you had the city. Mighta been a play
Damn I really thought orange was running away w it
the people arguing in chat is more entertaining than the game lol
You had the win in hand and missed it! :) And how did everyone forget that both rbs already had been played. lol
What am I missing? Why not build a settlement on the 10-9 port?
I don’t understand either. Then he could have used his other roads to build on 6-11-12 and then to the sheep port. Doesn’t make sense to me
For someone named dontalkmuch he sure be yappin

Beside would have had 3 wheat settlements. 3:1. Every roll.
Very chill background music my man

At 25:00 can't you just play the second night and win with army at 11 points?
OMG this game! Couldn't believe your setup here as black.

Wp. Man crazy how people can be so toxic at all elos smh
28:34 what are you doing? dump 4 wheat and 3 bricks double steal on black for 2 wood trade 2 wood and 6 brick for 3 ore build city win game.
11:03 wood port with no wood tiles. Lol
"Daddy Chill"
Wtf was that second placement haha
At 29 minutes could he not have kept 2 wheat 6 brick and then stole any city material for the win???
I see what you did here with « lachèvre » 🐏

love the name haha
Lol, the chat was so toxic
People like red and orange should be embarrassed by their behavior. There is no need to be acting like that.
