    Great video, this is a really good group. Usually there's at least one person in VC videos who gives me a headache and makes it hard to watch but this was just great friendly competition and strategy :) Excited to see how US Nationals turned out!

    Geez. That 7 comes up at the worst time. You probably would have won so fast if it didn't come up on your turn as often as if did.

      No doubt about that. If I survived those few critical rolls, the game would have been over 30 minutes earlier at least.

    That was some high level play: the table talk was amazing as everyone worked out the changing dynamic during the game as to who need to be attacked and slowed down. Good natured and smart players!
    Couldn't beat your lucky 6 wood and the wood port though...

      The 6 was very strong but the game balanced out with the robs and 7s. It can be like that sometimes.

    Hey dandy, a question what do you do when the other three players collude against you when you’re ahead

    • @princea5886
      @princea5886 Рік тому +2

      Gaslight them into thinking you aren't winning. That's what he does every game

    • @dandydrew
      @dandydrew  Рік тому +2

      That’s an overly simplified view to say “just gaslight” every game. Everyone has a different orientation to a game. For me, I am very much locked into all the threats on the board. I think it’s important to take some heat when you are clearly leading and understand it’s part of the game. Equally, don’t be afraid to keep other threats in check on the board as the board catches up and do your best to cooperate to balance the board accordingly. Example here is I took a lot of heat (because I was winning) but I was still working with the board to help give Andrew road to balance the game. This helped put me in an advantageous position as the final rolls came around and no one got too far ahead. A lot of players will tell you to STFU if you are winning and be quiet but that’s an incredibly bad strategy and will lead to a lot of boards losing the balancing mechanism that’s needed.
      Ultimately, when you are clearly leading don’t try to hard to convince them otherwise as this might lead to frustration and bad emotions towards you with the other players. Keep good vibes the best you can and keep the conversation light but logical.

      DyLighted and myself are very good friends in this space and have learned a lot from each other. At this point, I have put a lot more work into my game over the last 2 years and would say I have the strategic and tactical edge over him, and he would agree with that. That being said, I do admire how thoughtful he is when analyzing plays as I tend to be a very fast, intuitive player due to my strong fundamentals.

      @@DanielSong39 I felt the sheep port was quite secure after Whiteclawlaw committed to dropping roads towards the wheat port. The issue with dropping 1 hanging road is that it might encourage the board to feed blue the plow on me. Also the deck was decently stacked since so many knights were pulled early. Getting a 2nd VP would be huge in this position.
