This generation wonders why we old folks think their music stinks, because we grew up with real talent
Well said my man
So right about that!
Well said, this is how a love song is written
!!!!!
I’m an 80’s baby and I think todays music stinks. There is no originality is music now. There are very few distinctive artists these days. And everything is auto tuned. I love music from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s because of the originality and no one sounded like each other. Songs also had more meaning to them.
I'm 72. This is the music of our coming of age. There is nothing like it anymore.
As much as everyone loves that great deep voice of Bill’s and the “baby, baby…I’ll get down on me knees for you”…Bobby rips people up with those highs…and so easily is able to harmonize back lower with Bill in the mid-range. Two fantastic talents that made a perfect duet.
bill my fav voice ever perfect i love Bobby but bill n dirty dancing great duo
Captain obvious
So magical together.
No auto tune
The song unchained melody Bobby sung in the movie Ghost.
Bobby vs Bill is an unfair comparison - Bobby can go higher with his falsetto, but if Bill went lower only whales and elephants could hear him.
That's pure talent. No autotune or other tricks!!
Great reaction
I bloody love watching younger people react to classic songs
Talent was just better back then. My generation can’t compare to this level ✊🏾
You'd enjoy their song, Soul and Inspiration...
Yes. Please. Soul and inspiration
My favorite!
Most Definitely do Soul and Inspiration!
This is the best video of it

“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duet Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on an 73 key piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary.
“You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century
"Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show (with his mother sitting right behind him) Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance.
Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers.
In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......
I'm 73 and back then that's when music was music 🎶
This gal gets it. I envy the people that are hearing this song for the first time.
Listening to this again solidifies the fact that I lived through the greatest era of music that's ever existed. Kids, your grandparents were way cooler than you think. Enjoy
I find it amazing that almost 60 years later, this video is within the top 5 most viewed videos you have…
This song is on the short list for potentially “THE BEST” song of ALL time!
There is not single person or duo today that can do this song as good as they did
THE most listened song of the 20th Century... fact.
Soon to be the most listened to song of the 21st Century ........ judging by the quantity of youtube reactions :D
not to mention all the soundtracks it's on.
Many younger fans remember this song from the Top Gun soundtrack. These boys had that blue eyed soul kicking🎵🎶
They were a great pair! Rest in Peace Bobby Hatfield.
This is, what is called Blue Eyed Soul! So much great Music came from the 60's and the 70's! Enjoy it!
It's the most played song in rock and roll history.
Two beautiful talented men still making women swoon nearly 60 years later. We boomer teens had the pleasure of hearing this blue eyed soul music going through our puppy love years. Thank you for your sincere reaction.
Young women who see this for the first time love them... They all of a sudden become much more feminine and look happy... The two were extremely talented and masculine, something most young women were taught is a bad thing and has vanished from society..... Turns out they like it a lot... Take care 2519.
❤ EXACTLY! I hope people react to more obscure songs like Just once in My Life, For your Love and Hung on You which was the A side of the 45 release of Unchained melody.
The Brothers were pure singing talent. What a time to be a young teenager with these guys, Motown, the British invasion, and on and on. We only had AM radio then and little transistor radios but it was one hit after another with new songs and artists every day. I'm not fond of the body feeling old and achy at times but my mind makes me still feel like a teenager, lol. Very happy young folks can and do appreciate these artists.
This was the most played song of the 20th century.
Your reaction when he sings "I get down on my knees for you" is so perfect.
This song by the Righteous Brothers was the most played song - 8.2 million times - on radio and TV in the 20th century
Nothing sadder in this life than what those words describe as it’s happening to you, and this song makes you feel it.
I may be 62 yrs. old..but young lady..You have a heart of GOLD! Stay safe and happy. You deserve the best in life!
The bar scene with Tom Cruise in Top Gun...lol ...These guys have had a gift from God to Touch our Hearts & Souls.
Also, a very faithful cover by Hall & Oates in the early '80s.
Roy Orbison, CRYING.
Roy O…. Anything….
57 years and the magic still works. Pure talent.
You're a beautiful young lady and it is a delight watching you react to songs I grew up with.
your initial reaction was absolutely stunning just remember these are actual guys singing with no gimmicks...just their voices...powerhouse at its best
If no one has said it, "Top Gun" is where you may have heard it.
Just love when youngins finally hear our music
Most played record on American radio in the 20th century!!
Loved this reaction to an oldie and this lady gets and feels music plus she’s the most beautiful woman ever.
You are the first reactor to this song that actually listened to the lyrics. Most people, understandably, focus on the voices and harmonizing, but miss the utterly devastating story being told.
I was about 10 years old when this song came out. I sang along with it for many years not really knowing the lyrics. I was you tubing when I came across this. Watching her natural reaction made me print the lyrics. I then understood why this was the most played song ever on radio...and this is before FM radio. A very sensual young lady.
Angela -- you are a special person. Mult-dimensional. Thank you!
This is Blue-eyed soul...
One of the back up singers on this recording was a very young teenager named Cher. Saw them in Vegas, great show. My date was shocked at how tall they were-Bobby 6’4-5 and Bill 6’8-9. I met Bill years later and he’s a genuinely nice guy.
Phil Spector was the masterful producer and conducted this live performance. Cher was one of the background singers on this performance .

This was the most played song on radio and TV of the 20th century. Calling it a classic is an understatement.
See Grandpa's music was cool.
Can't beat the 60's --- agreed.
Nothing compares to the music of the 60s and 70s.
It was so pure and clean...no tricks, no theatrics. Just pure talent!
And lots of practice and rehearsal.
Beautiful song and anyone who doesn't think that oh well looks like you were ready to cry anyway
The two of them had so much talent and discipline they were almost playing with the audience... They sang with restraint but the audience knew it was coming and when it does, you just have to laugh because it's so unbelievably great... Great content young lady, take care.
“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Best Male Vocal Duet Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on an 88 key piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary.
I apologize for making the 88 key reference, not looking down the comments and seeing that you had already made the reference 3 weeks before me. Sorry, my friend. I'm 57 and had parents very much into music of the 50's and 60's and so I had grown up a huge fan of the Righteous Brothers, who were a favorite of my stepmother. So when I moved out of the house after high school, I took my stepmother's 3 original 33rpm vinyl LP's (she wasn't nice to us kids so I felt justified! lol) and still have them today!
A sure-fire way to create pop impact is to record something sounding bigger than whatever else is around at the time.
"You've Lost That Loving' Feeling" has a fantastic acutely heartbreaking opening line, telling you that however loud the song gets, this is a hopeless battle.
I love how you said, "in slow motion". Again, your reaction is from the heart. Well done!
My first ever dance with a girl was done with this song , I’m 70 years old now.
You have a golden heart.
You've Lost That Loving Feeling by The Righteous Brothers was the most played record on American radio in the 20th century; in only 35-years it was played over eight-million times.
Thanks, Angela, for being the one among many who listens and understands the music.
Most listened to radio song last century. ❤️
Kudos to you girl - you actually listened to the song and reacted appropriately (and honestly) to one of the saddest lines ever written.
This is why their known as the Dynamic Duo! This song was the #1 requested song to radio stations in the 20th century. I've been a big fan since 1964, still am. Hard to believe Bill Medley deep voice is now 81. He's doing 10 shows in FL at the present time. Sadly not with Bobby Hatfield but Bucky Heard. Bobby sadly passed in 2003. Sadly missed, was one of the best.
Perhaps you saw the movie "Top Gun" and vaguely remember the bar scene where the guys sing this song as it's playing on the jukebox.
I love the fact that you are willing to express your emotions,
This song was in the movie TOP GUN. Tom Cruisesse briefly sings to the woman.
I was 15 when this came out, riding a bus on Natural Bridge road in Pine lawn Mo. 1965.
shout out to whomever staged this cause the way its filmed & the lighting is actually amazing. The way the background singers appear later on then it goes back to spotlight. Its brilliantly moody & really suits the song perfectly.
I wasn't old (mature) enough to really appreciate the brillance of this song in 64; I do now though...
This was the most played song in the 20th century according to BMI.
“You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” was released (and became a hit) in 1965.
“Top Gun” was released in….1986.
Please, folks-neither that movie nor Tom Cruise had anything to do with this song’s popularity. It hit legendary status twenty years before Cruise was wearing starched underwear in “Risky Business”.
Ummm, people are talking about where they heard it or are familiar with it. Get with the program.
Just think about this for a second these musicians back then had to sing that with no help from auto-tune or any artificial assistance that's the real deal there that's playing pure and simple awesome Talent.
no to mention the timing snd harmony all on their own
Four words: These dudes could SANG!!!
That is real music . It’s what we used to have,
Beautiful reaction by a beautiful young lady
Loved your reaction to this one. Great song.
great music touches the soul...gives you goose bumps.....yeah come on
The perfect reaction. Thanks! God bless you!
Just like the song “Unchained Melody “ sounds familiar to everyone because it was made popular in the movie “Ghost”, so with this song, it revived popularity after being played in another popular movie called “Top Gun” with Tom Cruise.
The term "blue eyed soul" was invented for these guys. It's old school (1965), beautiful and everyone who heard the first time stopped the car and usually cried.
Still give me goosebumps all these years later. Great song.
Righteous Brothers plus Phil Spector wall of sound equals winner. What voices those boys had.
You probably remember it off of the movie Top Gun.
you need to listen to unchained melody. Unfortunately, one of them passed away. We need the younger generation to remember ours, I am 72 and had the privilege to live through 50,60,70, 80, 90, 00, 10, 20 and I have found many songs that I love and touch my soul, please keep it coming I will be waiting.
So happy you like this. In 1964 I was 19 so you know how we loved them. Unforgettable.
R
Good music always hits you in the soul, on a cellular level. These musicians give a part of themselves for their fans. No electronics at all!
Your moving reaction..brought me a tear...
Talent, class, and hot!
The music, the lyrics, the voices. 1964. They don't make 'em like that anymore, huh?
At the 5:33 mark, she was bitten. Her reactions are pure gold.
I loved your reactions! It's so nice to see a younger generation enjoying this. It's timeless.
Amen! When I first heard this I was 15 and my “steady”, Karen, was going to dump me for Mike. And when this song came on I criiiieeeed! My ❤️ broke ! That is a memory. Thank you, Bill and Bobby!
Everything about this song is perfect. Barry Mann's melody, Cynthia Weill's amazing lyrics, Gene Page's arrangement, Phil Spector's production, the studio group led by drummer Earl Palmer and pianist Leon Russell, the backup vocals by the Blossoms and of course Bill Medley's baritone lead vocal and Bobby Hatfield's tenor. This song is a 3 minute 50 second miracle.
And there's no tenderness in your eyes when I reach for you. Classic sorrow put into poetic harmony.
Glad your generation has finally given these guys their due
I know the feeling. There are no words to say 60 years ago.
Was in a 10 year relationship, and felt her love slipping away. I tried to bring back that loving feeling... unfortunately it was too late and she'd found another. It's strange some days to realise your best friends is gone, but truly believe it's possible to find love again. Maybe even stronger? Stay strong everyone
I feel the pain. been there. not 10 years though. I feel for u and hope u were eventually able to move on and find someone even better.
19 years... I admit I gave too much slack and she took advantage of me. I'm remarried and much happier. Such is life. God helped me thru the wormhole...
"Wow" is right. And, nobody can sing/say/pleas "baby" like Bill Medley.
Best "Baby baby" in the business! 💙
I'm 75 and this was the music of my youth. The music of the 50s - 60 s- and Early ,70s was beyond compare. In all venues. Rock- country. - soul and all others. The youth of today need to listen and learn what real talent was all about
What separates today's music from music like this is the emotion and depth of feeling. Bill and Bobby made you feel their songs.
This song makes the short list of ALL TIME great songs.
“I heard the best of the best was going to be back here”, that’s this song by the Righteous Bros…
Those two singers of the Righteous Brothers were decades ahead of their time and their ability to harmonize such different tones and pictures together and make the major impact that their songs make. Major soul from these two great singers.
You mentioned a couple of times, 'someone falling out of love with you'. I believe that when you come to love someone, you never stop loving them. You may force yourself to walk away or you may convince yourself that you don't love them anymore but it's just that. If you have ever truly loved someone, then you still do. Good reaction; these guys were awesome.
Facts.
Over 8,000,000 plays on American radio, who knows how many around the world?
It blew away every recording from the last 64 years and stood alone on that mountain top for 36 years.
Heck, how many times has it been played on UA-cam?
I was 2 months old when this came out. Baby, baby, I'll get down on my knees for you
Oh that gets me every time. The vulnerability in the lyrics and his voice
Respect. You nearly stopped the song. But you didn’t.Listen to the song and then react. One classy Lady
The singing artists were so much better back then, period.
Well I'm old enough to remember the first of the song ever came out and I was fortunate as a kid my grandfather was with the producers of the Andy Williams Show and I was sitting in his audience Bobby his family was sitting in the audience they never heard him sing but it's really sad at the top of their careers the drugs had it intervene and destroy their fans and their family may God bless everyone
