She also thought if you dont i will. These guys were all about talent, style and class.

I fell out of my chair when you said: "They really had our grannies panties". Funny! It may be true (definitely before my time) but the songs of Righteous Brothers are deeply romantic. Each soulful song is sung as if meant for a specific woman and is about the love, passion, and longing the men feel for that woman. (It’s why so many women respond to them). Everyone needs love and almost everyone wants romance. All normal men have these feelings; these songs are from an old-fashioned time when guys viewed romance as normal and understood they'd never find true love if they treated intimate relationships with women as transactional.

They got their name from the Black Marines at El Toro base. After a song or the performance they yelled out "That was righteous, Brothers!" The name stuck. They actually talked about this on the Andy Williams show performance of Unchained Melody that you reacted to. That part was cut from that version of the video. What a night that must have been for the audience! This is THE most requested song on the radio in the 20th century.
Women just love the part of this song when Bill Medley sings 'Baby, Baby, I'd get down on my knees for you' with that deep voice of his. It's what happens when you put two great voices and talent together with a masterfully written , arranged and orchestrated song. These guys were among my favorites in the mid/late sixties. I'm 74 and sang in a band for years, heard a lot of music and still am amazed at the Righteous Brothers music. Among the best in pop.

You are absolutely right young lady. This was pure singing talent without all the auto-tune voice enhancements etc. of today. Many of the singers and groups had this kind of talent and I was fortunate to grow-up during this period. We grew up in the 60's and my brothers and sisters remember ALL these groups they were called "BLUE EYED SOUL" because we'd listen to them on the radio BUT when they appeared on Ed Sullivan Show or American Bandstand we saw that they were WHITE, blew black people's mind. There was a table full of Marines and when they got finished performing one of those Marines told them they were "Rightous" brothers because of their soulful sound, which later was dubbed as blue eyed soul. There was no auto tuning back then so what you hear is their actual voices. Bobby, the blonde guy, never had any formal training. Bobby learned how to sing all by himself. As many artist, like Elvis, did back then.

They often related how they found their stage name. It seems that they were performing in a nightclub one evening and a group of black marines came in and some expressed surprise that they were white. One of the marines shouted up "you are righteous brothers", and that became their stage name from thence forward. It should also be noted that their albums were usually a mixture of duets and solo tracks, with Unchained Melody being Bobby's alone. Of course Bill also sang solos too. Bill is still with us, and I hear still singing, but sadly Bobby left us several years ago.

The original Blue Eyed Soul group, but don’t forget that this song was written and performed by the famous “Wall of Sound”producer Phil Spector.. its a great recording in so many ways! Even had Cher as one of the background singers on the risers in the back.
"You've Lost That Loving Feeling" was THE song of my senior year in high school. It was a great time to be young and tuned into the radio while driving in the car with friends. At that time, we didn't know THIS SONG was going to turn out to be the most played song on the radio--not for the year, not for the decade, but for the entire 20th century! Also, when we first heard them, it was on the radio. We didn't know what they looked like until we saw the album cover. Then maybe, months later, we might catch a TV appearance. If you had told me then that one day, I would have a device that would enable me to watch them perform anytime I wanted to, over and over again, I would have screamed!😂 I loved watching your reaction! Soul & Inspiration (corrected...ty) is another beautiful song. Also...check out their song Rock & Roll Heaven. Done in the 70s so they're a little older. Pays tribute to just a few icons (singers) that had passed.
Studied musicianship and artistry couldn't be faked back in the day. Today, most artists aren't learned musicians and many are more out for the payday than the love of the art. Take a lesson from that. Today's pop singers will be forgotten while music like this lasts forever. Whatever you do, do it because you love it.

They were the first concert I ever attended back in the early 60s. Great then and still amazing. They were know as having blue eyed soul. How many babies do you think were made as a result of their singing?😊 They got the name when a black marine at one of their performances stood up a yelled, "that is righteous brother".

I love watching reactions to this song, especially by black people. Because it reinforces my belief that there is no difference between black and white. To think that a different pigment in our skin has caused so many problems is not only sad, but mind boggling. I just wish we could all get that loving feeling.

Sweetie, you got it right-even 60 years later-they got their name from a black crowd who after hearing them came up and said they sounded righteous, and they do. The original Blue Eyed Soul group, but don’t forget that this song was written and performed by the famous “Wall of Sound”producer Phil Spector.. its a great recording in so many ways! Even had Cher as one of the background singers on the risers in the back.

"You've Lost That Loving Feeling" was THE song of my senior year in high school. It was a great time to be young and tuned into the radio while driving in the car with friends. At that time, we didn't know THIS SONG was going to turn out to be the most played song on the radio--not for the year, not for the decade, but for the entire 20th century! Also, when we first heard them, it was on the radio. We didn't know what they looked like until we saw the album cover. Then maybe, months later, we might catch a TV appearance. If you had told me then that one day, I would have a device that would enable me to watch them perform anytime I wanted to, over and over again, I would have screamed!😂 I loved watching your reaction! Enjoy this gift of music; it connects the generations!

The music from the 60's and 70's are the best. Great lyrics, great arrangements with so many songs. The talent pool was exceptional.
Artist back in the day has to work hard to sound like this. I don't think many artist work this hard today
Soul & Inspiration (corrected...ty) is another beautiful song. Also...check out their song Rock & Roll Heaven. Done in the 70s so they're a little older. Pays tribute to just a few icons (singers) that had passed.
