I want to ask you, do you think that at 35 years of age someone can start boxing? the last time i had a fight was in 2015 now that i live in the uk i have a chance to come back, what do you think?
Isn't this dangerous in fact? 1. Since you need to get in place and position, they can see you coming if they know boxing. 2. If you succeed, won't this do REAL damage and buy you an assault/manslaughter charge, since clearly you know how to box thus your hands are "deadly weapons"? Even if you point at the chest to be safe, you risk breaking a rib or the breastplate. Is it worth the legal risk?
100 pushups, 100 sit ups, and 10km run. Continue this everyday no matter what. Never use AC even on hot summer days. Continue till your hair falls out.
Thanks to you Tony, I used this technique when my grandma was closing in for a hug and she's been out cold since last three days. Didn't stand a chance!
I prefer to B-Slap my opponent into the face sending him flying twenty or thirty meters often ending with him/her crashing into a brick wall. My technique is ridiculous and my power is significant. That is usually enough to deter them before I have to throw the hammer down. Just my two cents. Your ideas pretty good too though.
I prefer to launch my ultimate technique to catch the opponent off guard and at the same time paralyze him in pain. It's kind of like a one hit one kill kind of thing. It basically targets men's ultimate weakness therefore it only works on men. It's very powerful so I tend to use it as a last resort type of thing.
I prefer to slide down my shades and give them a shot of my piercing "Blue Steel" look. It stupefies them and drains all aggression and bad intentions from their bodies. They usually want to shake my hand afterwards to thank me for setting them straight. Sometimes I oblige them sometimes I just push my shades back up and slowly walk away.
You have motivated me to learn boxing I'm 16 years old I hope to go pro until I turn 25. After watching your videos I have been improving a lot hope I will be improving.......
@@Pozo850 Dude..hit the gym asap! Don't ever show them you're scared. Build some muscle and keep a good posture. I got taught this (the reverse punch) when I used to practice Wado-Ryu Karate. I actually downed an opponent one time in a competition with this punch to his solar plexus.
The end of your punch (or kick for that matter) should be like a whip reaching it’s full explosive potential, and you should drive THROUGH, not to, your target. The reason why many people’s punches are not straight and extended is because they or their target moves closer or farther away from them between the time you initiate the punch and the time it arrives. Quickness counts more than strength, but preferably you have both.
Im prett sure he doesnt need a video like this. Me personally i watched this to see if i was punching correctly cause i kick box, as it turns out i am which makes me happy
I trained by myself but this is sure to come in handy btw like the first tip, you need to punch straight and steady. Ball up that fist and stiffens your hand second tip is to turn your body with the punch that you are throwing and third tip is to exhale your breath when punching and inhale before throwing another punch so that your body wouldn't get too stiff when throwing a punch and some of the energy you used will get recover back (slightly) and for the 'secret tip' is like my first one, STEADY and STABLE. When punching, you need to have balanced and control over your body and body weight to ensure a direct critical hit. Plant your feet on the ground with stability also exercise for more power, practice for more accuracy and experience

Hey Tony, love your videos very helpful. Could you do a video on how to take advantage when you see your opponent making specific common mistakes repeatedly.
Hi Tony, love your videos and thank you. Something I learnt from chinese martial arts as a youngster... the noise when striking actually restricts exhaling which allows your body to pull oxygen better giving you more power. If you strike without the noise the chances are your expelling most of the air out of your lungs which depletes oxygen quicker making you weaker. Noises actually slow and restrict exhalation which increases power and delays fatigue. I guarantee next time you make a noise when you strike you will realise this. Noises decrease exhalation which helps 🙏🏼
In the 1970's, Bruce Lee explained you hit with your body, the fist is just the point of impact. He also explained how this is done, starting at the back foot, then straightening the knee, twisting your hip, twisting at the shoulders, and all this energy is put behind your punch, punching your opponent with your body, and punching a foot or two past your target, effectively punching THROUGH your target. I'm here to tell you, this works.
When I was a teenager, I did 100 push-ups every day. But I didn't do boxing then. Now that I'm boxing, my punch itself has become more powerful, because in the past I've already started to improve it. I can hit a hard surface and it doesn't hurt. The force of the blow has also increased. Of course, in addition to push-ups, I did squats with jumps, pull-ups on the horizontal bar, but this does not change anything. Even 50 push-ups a day are better than walking around with an electronic cigarette and listening to the new rap
Step 4 reminds me of taking a penalty kick. Sure you could do it flat footed, but the keeper (unless they're totally fooled) will stop that every time. When you wind up with a step or two, you really get a ton more power. This is great! Thanks!
It’s amazing that i see how this could apply to so many sports. Hip drive could apply to baseball/golf/cricket/throwing ball and football. These sports always have stance and always power comes from the feet through the hips to the hands. It’s no wonder when someone who is “good at all sports” have this kinda motion

Moving your feet/using your weight and momentum is a requirement, but, those who are just learning also have to learn that the back foot needs to be planted to generate power. Too often beginners will move their feet and then lift up the back foot when throwing the punch. 👊🏿

Some people are just naturally born with power. I wasn't trying as I knew if I did I would hurt them and it was just for fun. They were taller and could punch faster, but I outweigh them and I guess I naturally know how to transfer that mass to my fist, and I didn't even train. Alot of boxing gyms are like that ! it used to be around 105 or more in one gym I taught at.. the overhead doors Could have been opened to let air In but the owner was adamant about making the guys sweat and work extra hard so he kept it shut..there was so little air in there, the space was small and the combined body heat of 15 or more guys drove the already brutal temps even higher! it was literally a hell box... I was in my late 50;s at the time and believe me, it was tough, even for the young guys but man, at my age I could barely stand it..while there was no AC ,there could have been air allowed in and I was against the owners logic here becuz it was Not improving the students, they were Less capable since the oxygen had diminished and the room was full of CO2..It would have been More productive to open the overhead doors and let the air in,even though it was hot as hell, it would have brought oxygen back into the room..no boxing gym ive ever been in had AC ,nor swamp coolers running.. they were Always old school and all about the Work...zero attention was given to making the enviroment hospitable, let alone comfortable....LOL

There's a lot that have come and gone but I've been there strong for 4 years. I think he might let me compete at masters this year. He made me a dangerous person in the ring. 37 keeping up with the 20'y old's is gratifying. I'd really like to coach one day.
Im 6’5 ft muscular build 24 year old man with 8 month of boxing experience. Im usually keeping my distance and mostly rely on my long reach jab, but sometimes ı have issues with the guys who sticks very close to me. What can u suggest to me mr.Tony
Ahhh. The Pendulum Step. I recognize that. Bruce Lee loved doing that, especially leading into his side kicks. You can find videos where he sends a grown man flying with a pendulum kick.
You can get more power thru the peek-a-boo technique or by moving your weight forward, pushing off your anchor foot and un-torquing your body while leaning inward and aggressively/accurately timing throwing your punch to be at full extension about 8-12 inches through your target. I have to be careful when I punch, I'm afraid I'll break my wrist if I dont hold back just a little.
I thought this wouldn't make an honest difference, but where I needed my heaviest jab to knock down my cardio bag. Now if I just get some momentum I can do it the same with a light one. The only thing is, I think the final step where you bring your legs together then step forward might be inconvenient. As if you randomly do it, it will easily alarm someone. Then you can get countered, instead I'd do short side hops all throughout. Then when your gonna actually punch, just side hop into their guard. They won't be as fast to react, due to thinking your just in your idle stance still. Doing the side hops also keeps you continuously focused, and cause your constantly in motion your basic jab is gonna be more destructive.
philly fighters stamp there lead foot in as there turnng hips in, transfers body weight similar way to you buts yours is easier to learn, enjoying your videos top work

I also shadowbox, do mittwork, use the double end bag, double end prescion ball and work on technique and constantly improving form and my knowledge base ...I also sparred up until 3yrs ago ,its just a matter of finding like minded people who are game... I dont have the cardio of the young ones but I Do have knowledge and technical skill that has been aquired over time..best of luck to you brother!
Using sppeed too! With speed as an addition, punches get more painful
Just off to the pub to test this.
❤❤❤❤love your couching learning are lot from you ❤❤❤❤
This video really helped me grasp the main ideas!
I can't wait to get back to training. It's over 100 degrees F outside, and we train in a small warehouse with no ac.
@@skip741x3 Well sir, you just inspired me to go back next week. I'm 37/M, and my coach is 62. We also, have no fan, or the like, but I get a pass to step 1/2 a foot onto the rocks for air, but back before the bell goes off. There's a lot that have come and gone but I've been there strong for 4 years. I think he might let me compete at masters this year. He made me a dangerous person in the ring. 37 keeping up with the 20'y old's is gratifying. I'd really like to coach one day.
starts at 2:59 welcome
The YT algorithm is psychic I was literally just about to look up how to throw a proper punch
i ain't even looking to punch harder, this was just extremely entertaining
Does anyone know where to buy this long sponge that he punches?
I am very graetful for your work you really helped me improve
Glad to hear that mate! Happy to help 🙏🏻
Im 6’5 ft muscular build 24 year old man with 8 month of boxing experience. Im usually keeping my distance and mostly rely on my long reach jab, but sometimes ı have issues with the guys who sticks very close to me. What can u suggest to me mr.Tony
U mean a pressure fighter mate? Check this out ua-cam.com/video/2m64qiJVtRs/v-deo.html
I’m working on it… so far I can make the noise. 👍
Ahhh. The Pendulum Step. I recognize that. Bruce Lee loved doing that, especially leading into his side kicks. You can find videos where he sends a grown man flying with a pendulum kick.
Thank you for your insight and direct , honest approach to teaching . GOD bless you brother.
Cheers lad I want to be in the ufc and this has really helped
I like the way how you explain. Its full of passion!!!
Well done very informative
Boss video big fella YNWA
Karate teaches that too in the first form, the nuts and bolts are different but its the same principle
Help me, my baby momma's nose won't stop bleeding and I hear police sirens.
now i can finnely start fighting with my classmate
Never seen any professional fighter making sound during fights, The more you punch the hard things the more power you get in your fists
This technique felt very nice
Thanks for the video tony, I will try it on my grandma
😅
Thanks tony because of you I became so much better in boxing
Wow! Nice to hear that mate, let me know if you got any questions or there are videos that you want me to make to help you better 👊
thor should feint the jab bait the overhand right, fade back and rear leaping hook counter. I like how eddie fought orc stance!
philly fighters stamp there lead foot in as there turnng hips in, transfers body weight similar way to you buts yours is easier to learn, enjoying your videos top work
Ty for u uploading this video this really helped thank u Kate
The footwork on the 4th reminds me of Bruce Lee’s burst kick. Very similar movement, similar power but in a punch.
