    Imo what a lot of people miss out on is watching film. I don't mean just watching fights constantly, I mean breaking down what the best technical boxers do, replaying every technique over and over. Like NFL players do studying opposing defenses. The average person doesn't want to put the time in to do this, and your average coach will not implement most of the high level technique into their classes because majority of students simply don't have the ability to do it yet.

    I suggest getting into an infighting martial art like wing chun, alongside boxing. Research the 3 laws of physics, jog with your feet straight, keep your knees up while jogging, and jog almost like you're marching, swinging your arms in rhythm with your legs. In old school boxing it's called roadwork. In the army, marching accomplishes the same thing. 3rd law of physics. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Makes your running faster, and it makes you able to do strong punches with each hand. It's about form. Makes it easier to carry a gun while running, fire it, or hit someone with it. Think about baseball. A baseball bat is a lever that you swing in Orthodox or southpaw stance, in boxing terms. Left or right handed stance. In Orthodox, your left hand is faster and has more reach, while your right hand is stronger and has shorter reach. Southpaw is right foot forward, left foot in the back. Fencing works the same way. Wing chun knife fighting and fistfighting work the same way. Wing chun is known as the science of infighting. It works exactly like infighting style in boxing. Ever heard of jack Dempsey? The Dempsey double shift? The Dempsey roll? This is a great channel. I saw your vertical strong right in another video, very good in my opinion. I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong, just think bigger. In wing chun, it's exactly like infighting boxing but using different parts of the body than just fists. It's something to look into, and very easy to learn for any boxer good at infighting like you. For anyone who doesn't understand what I'm saying, there's infighting and outfighting in boxing. It's like the difference between someone like Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson is the modern jack Dempsey to me, a great infighter in my opinion. Whether you're an infighter or outfighter, you've gotta respect both ways of fighting whether a person uses them defensively or offensively. Not everyone's body works the same way, so it's ok to just be yourself. Not everyone is built to be an infighter or outfighter. Everyone is different, and that's ok. Weight classes exist, but you're just using your footing, your form, and your skeleton to throw your weight, either fast or hard. Not reading or answering any comments

But you give me an idea to make my skill a lot more better but because it is muaythai so some techniques in your cheat sheet might not work. But I already training for 3 years and my coach said I have a good basic. Probably I will have to change something in your cheat sheet to match my style that will level up my skill. Cuz right now I didn’t have an opportunity to train with my coach due to my personal problem(I’m lazy to explain)

    Thank you so much, I've learned a lot about boxing from you and now I'm confident about defending myself to some degree but do you have a video or make one about how to fight against someone bigger who swings mindless and fights rough, like really rough where their moves become unpredictable.

    • @oi8518
      @oi8518 7 місяців тому

      Coming from someone who knows less about this than you, this type of person is unpredictable because he is fighting in an unorthodox manner. Hence, he should be open to an easy counter like an uppercut. Keep in mind this is my own opinion assuming you would be able to keep your cool.

    • @eulachonfish
      @eulachonfish 7 місяців тому

      I'm not a big guy and had to fight like this often, I find these guys throw a lot of wild hooks and haymakers and also you want to avoid getting charged and taken to the ground where you'll lose a wrestle every time. Always keep your distance, keep moving and throwing out jabs for range, look for an opening in the hooks to step in with an uppercut or a hard cross. Often bigger guys neglect low defense, look for a liver shot or wide open solar plexus and swing for the fence with the bolo punch or what we called an "uppercut to the body".
      Rough fighters throw wild and leave big openings. Look at Tyson for how to throw an uppercut against bigger guys, power comes from the knees and a big follow through. Land a good dinger and you'll put anyone on their back foot, then press hard.
      Remember in a true defense situation you are just trying to create an opportunity to disengage, if you get knocked down some of these guys will boot you to death or pull a knife. Sure, it's fun to scrap but if you feel like you could be fighting for your life, throw a couple jabs and ditch out to fight another day.

    Thank you so much mr. Jeffries.
    Respect.
    I really apreciate your teaching and sportsmanship spirit! Its a gift that we have someone so passionate about sharing knowledge with the more inexpirienced people.
    I try to work the same way in my proffesion and I really support this kind of help.
    Thank you very much for improving our boxing . Keep it up.

    my training experiences are; the meanest coaches are the best, solely because they dont let your mistakes slide(prolly just me tho, lots of people get the opposite of motivated when someone yells at them)

      it also helps to do research on the coaches in your area before you even walk in. I have so many coaches in my area but the one that stuck out to me was this one that trained around 10 pro fighters and crafted 4 golden gloves champs

    Tony, please consider reading a book called " 5 thinking hats" by Edward DeBono . I have used this all my life and applied it to my training. It discusses subjects you just brought up
