I'm now 34 and long retired due to a slipped disc in my lower back and my left-hand index knuckle has completely sunk in from breaking it twice. As a 200 pounder this footwork is so motivating. When I watch my peers we tend to just “survive” moving forward but man I want to be that big guy that’s moving and shaking. Confusing the shit out of my opponent. I can move but it takes so much energy after a while. And my jump rope is horrible.

      I started boxing to lose weight & learn self defense.. at 346lb.. I fell in love with movement & I noticed the more I moved around.. the better I felt & longer I can breath without running out of wind.. Pain Is Inevitable but Suffering Is Optional.. after 3 - 5 years (I lost count of time because I didn’t care how long it would take) I am at 230lb & my speed shocks my gym partners & sparring partners all the time when we train.. I don’t mean to brag but it’s the truth.. they do not expect someone my size to move just as fast as the lightweights.. my height is 182cm so it might look confusing to some.. but what you see in the video is exactly what I do everyday in the gym.. fall in love with movement.. it is much better than to force yourself to move

    • @ti2218
      @ti2218 Рік тому +35

      Not to mention, if somebody can't last jogging for 15 minutes how do they expect to fight in a 5 round boxing match? I know there are breaks between rounds but stamina goes out the window real fast and comes back a lot slower if you're not trained properly. I say this from experience 🤣

    • @lupus4687
      @lupus4687 Рік тому +17

      @@ti2218 Well you gotta train both aerobic (runs) and anaerobic (sprints)stamina/endurance. You need both as a fighter but mostly anaerobic. Especially in MMA where you are fighting either 15 mins or 25 mins. So why would you run 10k for 40 minutes+? Makes no sense. It's better to push for more kms in 25 minutes which is way more efficient for an MMA fight.

It hurts my knees and I did not get any benifit from it cardio wise that I could noticed in sparring , I got way better results from interval training on the bike and bag cardio drills using way less time 🤷🏿‍♂️ it's just FACT for me

    I've been bodybuiding and lifting heavy weights for 20 years, the last two years i've completely changed my philosophy about trainimg and somewhat about life, so I decided to drop some weight and completely change my way of training ( I was about 100kg at 183cm and now I'm down to 88).I Started jumping rope (and that's probably what I'm the best at so far) because I wanted to learn how and also for the cardio but it evolved with me trying to learn boxing, I joined a boxing gym but unfortunately mostly train alone because my work schedule don't allow me to take classes.. My goal is to learn to move like you, you look like a cat when they are fighting, I like to watch and try to copy the moves but it is actually pretty hard :)

    I wanted to say.i did bear crawls for 3 days .I never felt any excercise make me feel my whole upper body.like bear crawls does . thanks bro for adding your guidance to my workout.i hope you see this message.also here my workout routines. I take 1 day break after a workout.
    1:160 push ups( different variations)
    2:150 bench press ups
    3: 250 Hindu squats.(partly because they were done by great Gama wrestler.whom I admire a lot)
    4:few minutes hanging
    5: 16 biceps pull ups
    6: 40 dips
    I only lack in jogging as I hate doing it.

      i love the great gama!!! there was a time where i was doing 500 squats and 500 pushups everyday as a warmup because of gama!!! it would be 10 sets of 50 squats followed by 50 pushups. then i would do my freestyle calisthenics stuff right after. if you like this high rep wrestler bodyweight work, you should look into karl gotch. he was a beast. also ric flair. he had crazy bodyweight workouts for when he stayed i hotels

    You an inspiration brother. love the tattoos. Been boxing for about 2-3 years. Started off at 154 but now am around 170lbs, 6’3 in height. Run 3 miles 4-5 times a week. But staying light on my feet is difficult for me, i feel heavy when jump roping and dancing as i shadowbox or fight. You got any tips or reasons on why this is? No shame in taking advice from veterans

    You put running into perspective thank you. I’m former military and running was something I hated, but I want to get into boxing again and know I have to do it.

    I just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to do good in shadow boxing. Heavy bag and Shadow boxing are the least things that I wanted to do when I go to the gym. But now, these are my favorite. My feet are so much lighter now. I can do pivots and angles without dragging my feet (it just flows).

    Great work Chez. I’m sure the path you took was rough and I know you had to go through what you have to become who you u are. I’m sure God has his hands over you and needs you. Being said. I think your time to rise is now. You can use all your street wisdom to teach and educate kids going the wrong direction. These videos are some of the best. You should reach out and contact the school districts and tell them you’d like to teach a boxing class for kids or something? These teaching should be shown all over brother. Thank you for sharing.
