Honestly. The one VLDL video where they had a character play for years get mad about a new guy joining and buy new armor, explained the mindset best to me. The guy worked 15 hours a day 6 days a week, had 3 kids and 1 with the flue or some such. He just wants to sit down and play with his friends in the small amount of time he had. Buying armor made it possible.

They made their game hard in general (no map UI, no compass UI, let players figure out extractions, etc.) and then harder over time (can't shoot while healing, no insta mag packing, ineria, etc.) and the community complained every time they made it difficult. So they *knew* what the community wanted and they're scummy enough to put a price on it.
They created the "problem" so they could sell the solution.
Fallout 3 point lookout was not easy even with an endgame character.
Someone on a $60 dollar account can be 10 times better than the person on the $250 account.
Trust me it doesn't make the game "easier"

As a frequent Tarkov Solo player… there is nothing more frustrating in that game than running into Sweatlord Squad after Sweatlord Squad. Can’t fight them consistently because you have no reliable supply of armor piercing rounds. Can’t run away because they’ve maxed stats and are faster than you, carry more weight, and have more stamina. Only option is to stay away from places with good loot and just hope you don’t get into a fight with scavs that attracts them.
So yeah, I really understand the desire to just have an “I win” button. But it really is a bad idea to sell that “I win” button in a clear cash grab.
Matchmaking needs to group similarly leveled players, and avoid matching solos with squads. Of course, that’s unlikely, but a man can dream.
imagine scavs and cheater with the ability to call in squads. theyll completely ruin the game

You should feel proud of your ability to stop playing games with such blatent problems because the majority of players can't make that choice - it's not that they "don't" I genuinely believe they are _unable_ to stop playing.

This is just a fundamental issue with Tarkov in general. The basis of the gameplay is flawed in such a way that they can never truly fix it. People who play more will always have inate advantages over those who play less simply because they have more hours in the game. And this is how it's meant to be.
The concept of Tarkov would work fine if they weren't stuck on this weird "it's an RPG game" bs. It's just not. It's an overly complicated FPS game.
SPT(single player tarkov) mod + project fika mod (up to 32 friends) + a little VPN or port forwarding + mods = self hosted tarkov server
Not to mention just an objectively better version of Tarkov. With the AI mods they legitimately play better and more strategic than a majority of players. And mods fix almost every single issue tarkov has had for years. The challenge is definitely still there and honestly i sweat more in SPT than live. So unless you need the fulfillment of knowing it was another player you killed, its just a better game.
@@LjrobisonI feel that. with all the recommended special sauce of mods configured properly the only difference between live tarkov and spt that is notable is the lack of teleporting cheaters and I wouldn't doubt if swag+donuts could implement that if you really wanted an authentic experience 💀💀💀

I've not only quit, uninstalled, and uninstalled the installer; I've blacklisted BSGs emails.
As have most of my friends who play the game.
Hopefully Red River: Incursion will pick up. In the meantime SP-TKV project allows plugins, someone knocked up a LAN SP-TKV mod 😅

My parents were super strict regarding video games and "practical use" of the home pc when i was little, but contract wars only required the unity web player and i played probably over 1k hours as a result.
Sad to see what happened to Tarkov. 2 years ago when I built my Pc, it was with the sole purpose of me wanting to get into Tarkov.
I fucking hated it, and none of this makes me want to play it any more.

Exactly the same thing was said by the lead developer of World of Tanks from WarGaming. He said, and I quote: you need to suffer sometimes, so that the wins feel better. So if the price is a pack of in-game goods in order to beat a cheater, so be it.” It’s literally in the mind of most Russian players, that you must “donate”, yes, they don’t call those micro-transactions, it’s called a donation. Also allows them to circumvent laws as it doesn’t fall under category of an online purchase, but rather a donation of money to the free to play online developer. So yes, it’s not surprising with either WarGaming or Tarkov developers. It’s the Russian online gaming community mindset. Literally is, always has been, and always will be. Hope that clears it up a bit.
My understanding of Nikita's comment on cheaters increasing revenue is that he wasn't actively taking advantage of it but he noticed that when ban waves came through revenue decreased for the game. that was his theory as to what caused the loss in revenue. I think this is the most positive outlook assuming good faith (and giving grace to translation issues)

Ive got a buddy who would absolutely agree that pay to win in situations like these is good thing, would 100% pay for the special edition if it gave him a competitive edge like that vehicle call. Its insane and showing him gently how wrong these things are just goes over his head, a gamer against gamers

If I understand it correctly, that call in BTR feature just calls in a BTR on maps that already have a publicly accessible BTR taxi. I don't see how it can give you any advantage at all, other than not waiting for the regular BTR to come to your nearest location.

The only way the BTR would be ok, is if it only works on maps that already have a BTR on them, and all the “Legacy Device” does is summon it to your position.
I bought EOD back in 2019 and I've been loving the game, if they wanna make money, release more clothes you can buy for real money. I'm not touching the game until they undo these terrible changes...
I have always said this: do NOT support a product if you don't like it. Do NOT buy a product it you don't like it. Do NOT spend money you can't afford to throw away. Talk with your wallet people, including not opening it.

there are cheats were you can equip the btr gun and run around with it
If you have SPT, make sure to download your files and put them on a hard drive so you can always redownload it and play it even without internet or the website being shut down
Contract wars was actually sick! Used to loved that game, not browser or mobile game it was a free to play game with its own launcher and such. Went hard af

I’ve played Tarkov since the very first patches. Back when PACA was the best armor in the game.
This isn’t even new it’s just a much bigger issue because the following has gotten to that size.
BSG have always had these shady business practices.

That interview was 2015 on the topic of contract wars 2015 in Moscow {contract wars was BSGs first game they let be hacked} also, they have gone over multiple translations, and it was 100% correct

Plus kinda stupid to say "Why play shooter if you don't need to actively shoot everything" when Helldivers 2 is really popular and revolves around Stratagems that are very similar to CoD's Killstreaks. It's just another aspect of a shooter game.
I was considering buying the game before but now I definitely won't, even if they manage to win over their existing customers. I don't like the way their running things and they'll definitely do this again

I got my moneys worth from EoD. The last time i played live was Dec 2020. Im spending the rest of my tarkov life on SPT Fika with mods to fix all of the terrible design decisions. Youll have to come to my house and get past the roombas to delete it off my PC, Nikita.

Cheating exists in games because cheaters are the ones actively buying new licenses and subscriptions. Remember those captchas where you just have to click on check box of "I'm not a robot?" Yeah that's machine learning looking at how you move your mouse and checking "yup, that's real". You know where you could also implement that without almost any cost? Games. That would effectively end all fps cheating without any issues.

Boycott and stop playing those games people. Look at Helldivers, the community won (for now) because loads of people complained on multiple media outlets + steam. Warzone has so many bad ratings, yet people still play it because there is nothing similar to it. The only mode I enjoyed from CoD recently was DMZ(very mild extraction shooter) and they made it pay to win to eventually ABANDON it. You can still play it, yet there is no new content making it stale for most people.
The difference is Sony has shareholders to answer to, and when Helldivers took a hit those shareholders were probably asking why their runaway hit cash cow was suddenly tanking. Tarkov is run by an independent dev who will do whatever they want no matter how damaging it is to the normal player because they answer to no one.
@@Toastybees Very true. Still, hopefully we will see a day when gamers can unite and stop playing a specific game altogether or simply get beat by competition. Smaller studios make better games than big ones with thousands of employees(in multiple cases). There seems to be a massive disconnect between players and studios. Baldurs Gate was such a hit whilst games like Skull and Bones are a massive flop.
The only good thing to come of this is P2W denial EoD owners crying that their P2W isn't as good as the new version.
I bought Tarkov and got more than my money’s worth. It is a shame I never got the experience the product that was promised to me.
I loved Tarkov, I remember when I first experienced the game *just* before it blew up in 2019, with a crap PC and I was TERRIBLE! I was mediocre and got destroyed and still did when I played, but when I stopped because of life I was getting better with experience and knowledge. The badass, tacticool but most important to me authentic element of Tarkov has been lost I feel in the repetitive questing every single wipe.
I waited and I will continue to wait for a main story, and I hope for a community which values everyone being equally poorly equipped, rather than equally given crap, overpowered mechanics.
I'm honestly more excited for Arena Breakout on PC. Already has a better reputation than Tarkov lol

I play .fika mod for 4 days now with my friends and it is so frikin good I cant play official Tarkov now. Like I just cant xD. No cheaters, waaaaaay more fun killing Ai PMC rather than paying against sweatlords that kill u in 2 sec. Yeah, I wish I knew about co-op SPT sooner and didnt have to play 1500h in normal EFT.
Like, EFT is super original, is very cool, I love the concept thats why I have so many hours.... but its insanely flooded with die-hard sweats, campers (if u think u know what camping is play EFT x3), CHEATERS (like every 2-3 raids), bugs (where u cant shoot etc), Vacuum-looters, hatchet-runners like..... Official Tarkov is just dumb compared to SPT.

The callin mechanic is roumered to have a very long time before the player can get into the game, were talking 10 minutes or more.
And its earnable in game.
The BTR call in is a straight up death trap for anyone who uses it. Its not going to be aggro when you call it in, and all someone needs to do is watch thr Btr, wait for the idiot to go for it, and throw a nade before they get in it.
All of the items they added are useless. On top of being useless they have large cool downs, large recharge expenses.
