Way to go, Alex! I'm so glad you are showing this song to Andy. The words are impactful and the instrumentation along with Mustaine's vocals are invigorating. Nice one.🤘
That was surprisingly good! I would never had contemplated listening to anything by Megadeath until hearing this!!! Thank you for introducing me to your music! :-)
The title track from Megadeth's Countdown to Extinction album won the Humane Society's Genesis Award for promoting animal welfare. Also a great song that is well worth hearing.
Please, oh, PLEASE keep on with these upbeat tunes!! I would love to hear Skin o" My Teeth, My Darkest Hour, Sweating Bullets, etc. I love Thrash! You could play almost anything from my prior comment and I would be ecstatic. It would be way easier to name the 2 songs I don't care for. from each band. I have noticed that some suggestions given you from a long time ago are more radio play, top 40, and back then, even some of the top 40 bands had some great deep cuts. I know you are younger and wouldn't know. It is cool seeing how you like them, but I like to like them too. I struggle here with some, ok, a lot of the choices. Guess that's the way it goes on a huge channel like yours. I really love the commentary at the end, the ratings, how you describe writing styles, and you guys do have tons of knowledge about music. I turn 60 in a month. Omg!! Your faithful fan for life and future Patreon.
these kinds of themes will recurr in their work again and again and again... megadeth really hits the nail on the head in a very consistent voicing and messaging that truly sets them apart. check out just about anything off RUST IN PEACE. that album is IMMACULATE.
Yeah!! When I go to work in the kitchen, all the bakers love when this song comes on. We always sing, "Quiche shells, but who's buyin" lol. Love this song. Thanks for covering this and rock on.
You guys need to see the official video for this song that came out in 1986, MTV used to play it often back when MTV stood for “Music Tele Vision” . It’s one of the best metal videos, and it will make your eyes sore trying to keep up with the visuals.
I am not a heavy metal fan but I love this song. Primarily for the message but the music is well crafted and a bit catchy, in a metal way. Plus Dave Mustaine is a good and descent man.
“In My Darkest Hour” should be your next Megadeth song. IMO it’s a strong contender for their best song, and was inspired from when Mustaine found out about Cliff Burton’s death
95% of all life that’s ever existed on earth has gone extinct and that’s before humans were even in the picture extinction is just a natural process of the earth, not something humans should constantly use to flagellate themselves over
On my bedroom wall is a Megadeth Peace Sells promo poster ( framed ) I got autographed by all four original members at the Peaches Records and Tapes chain the day of the concert. My prized possession ....Megadeth was opening for Alice Cooper on his Constrictor tour . We also somehow managed to get 3rd row floor seats . Who says regular guys never get lucky ! PK
I recommend the song Institutionalized by the band Suicidal Tendencies for a similar but still unique song with thoughtful lyrics. Who doesn't like Pepsi? 😃
❤️ ST!! You can’t bring me down/Go’n Breakdown They might want to check out Infectious Grooves (ST, Perry Farrell,Jane’s Addiction) Another band that came to mind was Death Angel. Their music video Bored was huge on Headbangers Ball back in the day.
Oh shit! You guys went right into Megadeth's early stuff. I saw this tour at a club in Sacramento. The now gone El Dorado Saloon. I still have the ticket stub. The Eldo had all the classic thrash metal bands back then. Peace Sells is one of their best. Being just the second album, and really their first with any real money invested, the budget was still small. This one opened a lot of doors for Megadeth.
Dave was playing in Cleveland where I’m from with Megadeth I was working the venue. After the show I was walking around downtown with a girl and I seen a tour of us by one of the hotels and I said hey that must be the bands bus. As we were walking by it from out of the hotel came a tall man in a long coat with a sexy woman. As we pass each other I made eye contact with him and realized it was Dave Mustaine. He smiled at me and nodded because he knew I knew who he was I smile too but was in a state of shock as you pass me by turn to the girl I was with and I said that was Dave Mustain! She said what? And then I said really loud I said… That was Dave Mustain!!! It was so loud that a group of his fans heard me and they weren’t running towards him and his woman and before he took off running for the bus he turned and looked back over his shoulder at me and gave me his patented snarl and looked like he could kill me! I’ll never forget it LOL it was a great show by the way…
My friend loves Megadeth we had a bunch of kids over to his house. Megadeth came on the shuffle of CDs and he was like these kids are so lucky to get to color while listening to Megadeth.
After this review, I have to urge you to get into the premier West Coast punk band Dead Kennedys. Strong messages, frantic pace, great guitar work. With the anniversary of their debut album only a few days past, I suggest something off of Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, maybe Holiday in Cambodia, Kill the Poor, or California Uber Alles. Probably need to do a lyric deep dive and a quick trip to Wikipedia may be in order as well. Please consider.
Really tough to decide which... But I'd go with Holiday in Cambodia. It'd be great if they'd go back to back with California Uber Alles and then its follow up, We've got a Bigger Problem Now.
Megadeth has had a series of lead guitarists with Dave Mustaine as primarily the rhythm guitarist. Marty Friedman (1990 - 2000) is probably the most celebrated, but Chis Poland, the lead guitarist from this album was also uniquely talented.
Dave was the lead guitarist as well infact it is said that Dave can play all of Metallicas songs but Metallica can't even touch his and think about this who do you think played the leads when he was with Metallica it wasn't James. Dave plays a lot of leads why would say about half of them specially back in the day.
Andy, imagine that rush multiplied up to a full 2 hour live set, preceded by an hour support set from PANTERA!!!!! That was my joy in Nov92 at Glasgow Barrowlands. Pantera tore the place to BITS first up, which left us thinking wow Megadeth can't follow THAT, but no, we were so very wrong. They KILLED IT, I swear I have never been so happy in my life to ruin 3 shirts, get COVERED in bruises and nearly die of exhaustion 😆🤘😆🤘😆
This doesn't approach the precipice of their ability. I watched the boys do a double time rendition of Hangar 18 live as Dave was coming off a wrist injury. Incredible.
Happy Birthday Andy! Not a big Megadeth fan but I really like this song and and a few others and I like Dave. I have seen them live once and it was a good concert, really good band.✌
Happy Birthday guys. Probably only for you both would I try a song from Megadeath or thrash metal. It's not my groove, but I appreciate it more for your sharing it and giving the background. Have a great birthday and a Blessed year.
You 2 have NO IDEA how often that 1st bar (with the bass & kick drum) was heard EVERY. Single. Day. .. on MTV. #MtvNews "You hear it first" -- Btw, Mary Jane (musically) was just as good as the title track to that album.
What a cool surprise. Love it. . Megadeth is so freaking good. My favourite song is a tout la monde. Such a deep and amazing song. . It would be great for your next reaction to them.
Yo thats wat i like listening to the whole song without pause! I feel like im jamming out with these 2. Although i still like when they pause and react both ways are dope
Funny that you hit this right after hitting Alice Cooper's "No More Mr. Nice Guy". I'm pretty sure I heard AC's influence in the vocals, in at least the first half of the song.
A couple of ♍, happy birthday to you both from this ♌ !! I recommend checking out Ministry, Just One Fix, for some industrial metal from the 80s. I'm glad you reacted to this Megadeth song, even more relevant today than in 1986.
Since we’re talking about sweat…. “Sweating Bullets”. And some other hidden gems…”502”, “1,320’”, “Skin O’ Teeth”, “Ashes in Your Mouth” and “99 Ways to Die”.
Nice to see you getting back to metal. When this album came out, it was a game changer. I was a Metallica and Maiden fan. This sent us off in a whole new direction.
It's hard for me not to go on and on about this [my favorite] Megadeth album. Listened to it brand new, loved it ever since. I will say this: this first lineup of the band is the most bad ass of all. Drummer Gar Samuelson [RIP] and lead guitarist Dave Poland, were/are jazz guys. Mustaine put this band together to scare the shit out of everyone, and as far as playing goes, they absolutely smoked every one of the other 'big four' thrash bands of the day. Almost all except the most hardcore Megadeth fans [of whom I include myself] don't like the first album - but the guys definitely hit an amazing stride of this effort. Peace Sells is a total f*cking clasSICK.
A couple of Favorites from Megadeth, From their Album Rust In Peace "Holy Wars", "Hangar 18", & ",Rust In Peace Polaris", from their Album Coundown To Extinction "Symphony of Destruction", & the Title Track "Cundown to Extinction".
36 years old and the message of this song is even more relevent, that alone speaks volumes for the politicians we elect in our countries..... In My Darkest Hour and A Tout Le Monde are essential listening for Megadeth
Happy birthday 🎆🎉 Andy and Alex!!! Classic, classic Megadeth song gents. Glad you dig it. Very relavent even today from a lyrical standpoint. Megadeth has always been a musicians musician band from their beginning. Yes Dave Mustaine has his own quirky style for rhythm and leads and each lead guitarist they've had over the decades has their own voice. From Chris Poland to Kiko. ( Believe me I've seen them 9 times over the decades, I know I'm old and I've seen 90% of their line ups). First time was in 85 on the K.I.M.B. tour up to three weeks ago on the Sick, the Dieing and the Dead tour. There are several different mixes to this song and album over the years however my favorite is the original mix from the vinal back in 86. Cheers, 🥂
Happy Birthday guys!! Want to send presents, but need to know how old each of you are, and if it's Boxers or Briefs? Seriously. haha😅🤣😂 Megadeth is in my top 3 favorite groups, I'd have to say Judas Priest and Metallica are the others. Just don't know who is first! Thanks so much for hitting them!!!
Hell yeahhhhhh. Right on FANTASTIC SONG OFF A FANTASTIC ALBUM. Love this jam. Cool video too 😎 CRANK IT UP LOUD. Oldie but goodie. Old school classic thrash here 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
My favorite Song by Megadeath is SYMPHONY OF DESTRUCTION, and the one with the French title that I can’t spell. Lol. Christina Scabbia ( from Lacuna Coil) is the back up vocalist.
"What do you mean I'm not kind? Just not your kind!" Great line!
One of my favorite lines of all time, and I'm not a huge metal fan.
Best line ever written.🤷🏻♂️
This bass riff played at the beginning of "MTV news" for years.
Wow!! I forgot about that! You're right!!
Lol Kurt Loader and Tabatha Sorin
I remember with Kurt Loder.
Way to go, Alex! I'm so glad you are showing this song to Andy. The words are impactful and the instrumentation along with Mustaine's vocals are invigorating. Nice one.🤘
Hi Lisa, Agreed.
Like to see them do “Skin of My Teeth” Great riff.
Hi Gene. Nice to see you. I'd love it if A&A did My Darkest Hour, too.
That was surprisingly good! I would never had contemplated listening to anything by Megadeath until hearing this!!! Thank you for introducing me to your music! :-)
Megadeth is amazing. Take a dive into this album, plus Countdown to Extinction and Rust in Peace for a good grounding.
Rust in peace is an absolutely A+ album for sure - Alex
The best thing in Thrash was Dave getting the boot from Metallica. He needed his own thing and we all benefited from it.
Damn Right..... " Hello Me, Meet The Real Me"- Dave Mustaine . 🙃
Absolutely!!! TBH he’s far more intelligent than the mob who dropped him💯
Uh, no. Dave isn't thrash. May I introduce you to the godfathers of thrash, Slayer?
The title track from Megadeth's Countdown to Extinction album won the Humane Society's Genesis Award for promoting animal welfare. Also a great song that is well worth hearing.
Please, oh, PLEASE keep on with these upbeat tunes!! I would love to hear Skin o" My Teeth, My Darkest Hour, Sweating Bullets, etc. I love Thrash! The beginning of this song was the intro to MTV news for a while.
Happy birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊

I don't even like metal, and Rust In Peace is a top 20 album for me. Just a perfect record.
For Megadeth, I would check out Tornado of souls....some best guitar work from any metal album you will hear.

Megadeth is one of my favourite bands of all time. This is a great song and album, there’s so much gold to discover in their catalogue.
Happy Birthday 🎁🎂 Andy N Alex
Happy Birthday, @Andy & Alex!!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Hey @@Shadowrider1872! Happy Labor Day!!!
So glad to see you guys hit this song! Megadeth just released a new album this week too.
It's some great stuff! Have you seen the videos they put out with it too?? So good!!🤘

Took a trip from Phoenix AZ to Bremerton WA with my mom, listened to Megadeath….she was 70 yrs young!

Dave was the lead guitarist as well infact it is said that Dave can play all of Metallicas songs but Metallica can't even touch his and think about this who do you think played the leads when he was with Metallica it wasn't James. Happy birthday gentlemen!!!
Dudes..the albums with Marty Friedman are the legendary records
the best ones
Happy Birthday boys!
Metalhead graduated in 88 so this was a treat!
You guys got to do a 80s metal livestream. Megadeath, Judas Priest, Metallica and so many more bands worth looking into to.
Happy birthday 🎉🥳✌️
Happity Belated Birthdays to you both..
Happy birthday guys!

Tornado of souls Next for sure! Arguably the greatest solo in metal!
Thanks for the tune. Big fan of Megadeath in the day so was cool to reminisce with these legends of metal
The intro to this has been my ringtone for years.
I would like to start a 80's metal-themed restaurant called Pizza Sells...But Who's Buying
They'd have to have a drinks menu that features the Blacktooth Grin
Happy Birthday guys.
Probably only for you both would I try a song from Megadeath or thrash metal. It's not my groove, but I appreciate it more for your sharing it and giving the background.
Have a great birthday and a Blessed year.
Sweating Bullets
I got to see them after he recovered from his surgery. He was actually smiling to be back on stage.
Dave's talk-singing reminds me of I'm An Adult Now, by The Pursuit of Happiness. Really underrated song you guys should check out.
Dude, I haven't heard that name in a long time, saw them live back in the early 90's. Moe Berg had a unique swagger.
That album is complete 🔥
Used to listen to this often back in the 80s and haven’t heard it in at least 10 years.
You 2 have NO IDEA how often that 1st bar (with the bass & kick drum) was heard EVERY. Single. Day. .. on MTV.

"You hear it first"

Btw, Mary Jane (musically) was just as good as the title track to that album.
Kurt Loder and Tabitha Soren! Serious nostalgia when that kicked in.
How funny. Im mowing the lawn listening to this lol!
What a cool surprise. Love it. .
Megadeth is so freaking good.
My favourite song is a tout la monde. Such a deep and amazing song. .
It would be great for your next reaction to them.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DUDES!
Marty Friedman is such a unique player.
It's Cris Poland
@@elcanaldeozzy I fucked up. But Marty is good.
Used to pick on a guy at work we sang along changing the words to:" Keith smells like he's dying " Aah.. being a teenager in the '80s was pretty fun
You gotta show him Tornado of Souls
Yo thats wat i like listening to the whole song without pause! I feel like im jamming out with these 2. Although i still like when they pause and react both ways are dope
Forgot how smooth megadeath could be ! I can play ok fast guitar but thats pretty darn impressive and clean ! Didnt hide behind too much distortion
So what's the answer about music genre for Andy? Happy Birthday to you both BTW! Mine was the 3rd.
Thank you.
I know this album
Wake up Dead!
Dave Mustaine saved my life!
✌🕊🎈😎✌🎸🎶.
I love this song! "What do you mean I couldn't be the President of America... It's still the People, right?!"
I love this album. Good Mourning/Black Friday is my favorite track
Funny that you hit this right after hitting Alice Cooper's "No More Mr. Nice Guy". I'm pretty sure I heard AC's influence in the vocals, in at least the first half of the song.

I tell ya to this day this song slaps like no other when live

Iron Maiden- Flash of the Blade!!!!!!
Have to support metal on this channel. Don't get enough of it. Very early Megadeth here.
GOOOOOOOD MORNING A&A FAMILY!!!!

Peace Sells....and Wake Up, Dead are my two favorite songs!!!!
I saw Megadeth years ago at the Ozzfest in the late 90s. Great all round show… Ozzy, Tool, Limp bizkit, Seven dust, and others I can’t remember.
I know no one will probably agree with me but High Speed Dirt is one of my favorites from them.. such a crazy banger!!!!
Its fun watching the younguns discovering Dave, the drunk.
Saw this tour live at a small venue in Toronto (Masonic Temple) Dave raising his flying V over his head at the climax of this track - what a rush!
"Rrrrrrrrrright?!"
How about some My Chemical Romance?
one of the great thrash records of all time in my opinion, this album is one of the first of this genre that got into thrash as a teenager in the 80's
One of my fave Megadeath tunes, thanks A's!!!
