A super 10 outta 10 guys.
Thanks Alex for a great choice.
Stay lucky stay safe Mike UK.
MEGADETH songs... I'm sure everyone will steer you in the direction of Peace Sells But Who's Buying and rightly so. MTV even used the opening bassline for MTV news back when MTV played videos. Off Peace sells album the Conjuring is one I've been revisiting and really enjoy. The whole Rust in Peace album is a masterpiece you could do almost anything off that one. Just know nothing will topple Holy Wars. So far So Good So What album song In My Darkest Hour is the song that sticks out, as it was inspired by the death of Cliff Burton(Metallica legendary bassist) who was killed in 1986 in Metallica tour bus crash. Crazy story, as Metallica drew cards for bunks that night on the bus, Kirk Hammet drew the Ace of Spades and told Cliff I want your bunk. The tour buss hit a patch of black ice and toppled over and somehow crushing Cliff. Dave was told second hand not long after what happened and In my darkest hour was written in wake of Cliffs death. Sweating Bullets and countdown to extinction were popular songs that broke megadeth thru on mainstream radio etc. I'm not too schooled on late 90s to current Megadeth so I'll let someone else talk about that. Glad you enjoyed Holy Wars Good review today you guys.
While on tour in Ireland Dave not understanding the troubles in Ireland made a comment on stage between songs that pissed everyone off big time. They had to be smuggled out of the venue and escorted by armed guards out of the county because fans wanted to lynch them . It hit every news outlet the next day and his comment didn't go down well at all. That is the inspiration of this song, Dave fucked up and this song explains that he just doesn't understand why people kill each other over religious beliefs. Luckily for him he wrote a fucking masterpiece so all is forgiven.
Tornado of Souls! The guitar solo is just sick.
80's Metal was very different animal from the founders Black Sabbath, screaming guitars and vocals, less politics and self reflection.
It was a hell of a time back then to be a metal fan, concerts in arenas and stadiums, and of course Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll.
My little experience with Megadeth would be Countdown to Extinction, or the classic Peace Sells....
I've always said that Dave getting fired from Metallica is the best thing to happen in Metal
Metal Monkey you are probably right:)
@@Deniz_1637 No kidding. Dave pissed off is responsible for some of the greatest music in the history of humanity. Nothing pissed Dave off quite like being kicked from the band he made and named. Dave was no one trick pony.
i'm totally agree with you
And not hiring dimebag!!
At least for Metallica, it was. Who knows how Metallica would have progressed. Listen to "Kill 'em All." Even though Dave was gone by then, he was a massive influence on that album. That's why it's a lot like his first CD. "Killing is My Business, and Business is Good." I think that being fired by Metallica is the root of most of the anger shown by Megadeth's music.
Megadeth were out for blood on this track. There are more killer riffs in this one song than other bands will come up with over a whole album.
On a scale from 1 to 10, this song is an 11.
@shaitanlavey
Yup!!! 😁
Sez Spinal Tap. :-)
You mean 60
NIce spinal tap, but really its thir13en.
It’s one louder.
This is definitely a goosebumps kind of song, even after years.
Yep last 40 seconds every time!!
what I love about this song
-no chorus. no repetition
-the opening progression matches the closing progression, with pure destruction in between
may I request Iron Maiden- Run to The Hills?
28 years later and this song is still poppin cherries.
React to Tornado of Souls by Megadeth!! Also try the band ' Lamb of God'
I agree. Lamb of God would be great to react to. Many great songs, but I'd especially like to see their reaction to the LofG song Black Label.
You are correct about the first part of the song. The second part,"the mercenary" part, is about the Punisher comic book character. Hence, " the Punishment Due". Best Megadeth album. Killer from start to end.
Marty Friedman is the lead guitarist on this album. IMO best MegadetH album . I saw megadeth for their 30year anniversary to this album. They played it in its entirety to perfection. I've been to 100's of shows in my life and I must say that was top 3 ever.
@@DMiyash248 cool. I'll have to check out HAWAII.
Check Martin solo album, kiss of the dragon
@@DanielSousa-Ono need.
I have that one. Dragon mistress
The anniversary tour was incredible! Testament kicked ass also on that tour.
Agreed Marty is fucking amazing, but he and Dave both took leads. As shown on something like hangar 18, they can just play off of each other so well and are both geniuses. Easily 2 of the best guitarists this world has ever seen.
Megadeth is AMAZING live! Yes they can play all of their songs live and often extend things out!! Outstanding band, I have seen them and I have met them Dave Mustaine is awesome! This songs is actually two songs that they combined into one. The fist half is Holy Wars which speaks of Holy Wars and was inspired by the fighting in Ireland. Punishment due is actually about the Comic Book character The Punisher which is why the abrupt change in lyrics. This is one song though and never broken into two songs or recorded as such always 1 song.
Love this track, packed with insane riffs and beautifully crafted solos throughout.
If you guys are gonna get into Megadeath Id recommend Tornado of Souls. It is probably the best Thrash metal song. The guitar work is mindblowing and the rest of the band kills it too.
Third bestthrash song is "This Day We Fight!"
Hard to fathom that this is old school now. Rust in Peace is a thrash metal masterpiece. Megadeth's best album. The remastered version messes up some of the songs though in my opinion.
Because Mustaine foolishly REMIXED and remastered the albums. The remix sucks.
keyserfunk For just the purposed of clarity it’s not bad.
Not everyone has every single note if this album memorized and it can come In Handy for things like this IMO
One of the best metal songs ever made! Check out Black Sabbath “The Writ” off their Sabotage album.
Oh yeah, i love this song, the intro is so creepy.
The first part is about how wars based on religion with lead to "the end" the second part is about the Punisher and his origin. The third part is about the part of the Punisher when in his comic book series he traveled to the Middle East. So if you want to understand the lyrics you must read the Punisher comic book series up to the point where this album was released.
YESS!!!!. Thank you so much. Cheers guys!! The guitar work in this song is just insane. . Thus was a total surprise.
@steve ratcliffe
Glad you liked it friend! The song was killer!!! 🔥🔥
Look up Megadeth concert in Italy 1992. Dave and Marty Friedman are insanely accurate.
Gotta check out good mourning/black friday by Megadeth, for me it's their best song, off peace sells any way
Creeping Death live Moscow 91 1.4 million people screaming
DIE!! we felt it in Canada,
Yes!!
Actually it was more than 1.4M, numbers estimate up to 2M...
Peace sells, but whose buying is a favorite of mine. Metal church badlands is another great metal song. Others: mercyful fate ...a dangerous meeting, and Judas Priest painkiller...Savatage ... hall of the mountain king ....yngwie malmstein ...queen is in love. So many to choose from.
David as far as Savatage I suggest anything from Power of the Night!!!!!!
Dave Mustaine and Zakk Wylde are the best guitarists alive. They're so good they have a unique sound in and of themselves that cannot be replicated.
"Next thing you know/ they take my thoughts away!" OMG what a perfect song! Dave Mustaine absolutely shreds on this.
Bro looks confused and satisfied AF at the same time lol
The first part (Holy Wars) is pretty much what you said. The second part (the Punishment Due) deals with the comic book hero The Punisher.
I played this album to Megadeath,r.i.p cd,a tout le monde is a cool listen,or any song on peace sells🙂
You want more blazing solos and riffs, more great drumming, more brilliant time changes, check out the original version of Megadeth's "Wake Up Dead" off the 1986 album PEACE SELLS... BUT WHO'S BUYING?.
I grew up with megadeth and the older I get the more I like them...like back in the day it was just another metal band, but after thousands of listenings to most those metal bands megadeth stands out .
This is an awesome song.
Great reaction.
There is also a video for it, too.
And lead singer, chief songwriter, lead guitarist, Dave Mustaine, kills it on *ALL* the insane lead breaks in this song.
At the time, Dave had hired one of the most insanely fast, shred monster lead guitarists ever to pick up an axe, Marty Friedman, as his lead guitarist, then used *THIS* song to remind everyone Dave himself could still shred like a beast.
In case we forgot.☺
On *THIS* song, Dave Mustaine plays *ALL* the lead guitar.
The late Nick Menza on drums was quite thr beast, and sadly far too underrated.
The lyrics are about any war where brother will kill brother, including the Civil War here in America.
Houses were very often divided between North and South.
Brother sometimes had to kill brother to fight for what they believed in and stood for.
Dave doesn't agree with that, and I agree with him, but back in the day, strong beliefs often divided families, and being for or against slavery in America did that a lot.
The other thing, too, is that history has shown, time and again, wars are often fought over religion.
The Crusades.
Any of the wars fought in the Middle East.
If you know any religious history, especially biblical history, outside of Cain killing his brother Abel (the lyrics "brother will kill brother, and it makes no sense to me"), and God demanding Abraham to kill HIS son (Isaac), there is not a whole lot of violence in the bible.
Some.
Admittedly.
More in the Old Testament.
John gets his head cut off in the New Testament, and Jesus gets whipped bloody and then crucified, but nowhere in the bible, that I'm aware of, does it say we are supposed to kill each other over our religious beliefs, even when they are in conflict with each other.
Jesus was a pacifist.
Not a warrior.
And yet, how many still kill each other over religion in the Middle East?
Still, to this day, too many, far too often.
I did rewatch the video for the song because it's pretty badass and Marty Friedman, Dave's lead guitarist, does play several of the slower leads during the slower, dare I say, more pastoral, parts of the song, which are basically in half time compared to the rest of the song.
Pretty much all the insane high speed leads are Dave Mustaine's handiwork.
As is that hard, metallic, speedy chunk chunk chunk jackhammer riffing right when they come out of the slower section.
All Dave. ☺
Technically speaking, as good as Dave is?
Megadeth could survive just fine as a power trio.
But Dave loves the sound of twin guitars and the power of having two beast masters on guitar playing together is awesome sonically.
And, not that they need it, but it might be interesting hearing a 3 guitar attack like Iron Maiden has in place.
(Three great lead guitarists in one band who are all friends with each other as well.)
I'm a huge fan of the dual guitar metal bands like Judas Priest, Metallica, Megadeth, Rough Cutt, Y&T, AC/DC, Guns'n'Roses back before Axl totally took over, and older Accept, way back when they still did the whole dual guitar format thing.
But with Accept, when Jörge Fischer quit as second guitarist, Wolf Hoffman took over ALL the guitar parts.
Which is fine, on record/in the studio, where you can double, triple, and even quadruple track, everything.
But live?
With just Wolf?
For me Accept lost a lot of their signature sonic heaviness live.
Even long time Canadian hard rockers April Wine had three guitars in the band, so they could get really intriguing dueling lead guitars and then the third guitar could come in and do something in counterpoint to the other leads.
April Wine's lead singer, Myles Goodwin, also played guitar and was a decent third lead guitar when they needed that.
If you get a chance, check out their hit "I Like to Rock."
April Wine are definitely hard rock that doesn't quite stomp into heavy metal territory, but I like Myles' voice and the outro to "I Like to Rock" has these cool three intertwined guitar leads.
What makes them cool is that each lead is from a totally different, non-April Wine song.
(Edit: the following two rock songs are actually flipped in their appearance order: Day Tripper comes in first, then Satisfaction comes in next. Sorry about that. Memory dyslexia.)
The first is the Rolling Stones guitar line from (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, then the famous guitar lines from the opening of The Beatles' hit "Day Tripper" come in, and then lastly the guitar riffs and licks from "I Like to Rock" come back in and all three are playing in counterpoint to one another and they all fit together dead perfectly.
(If you guys were a little closer to my age, and rock and classic rock fans like I am, I'd have made you play spot the Classic Rock riff at the end of the song there, but since you're both still on the younger end, I'm 58 myself, I filled in the blanks for you.☺
Only because spotting the riff for songs way before your time would not have been exactly fair.☺☺
Unless you both had cut your musical teeth on Classic Rock like I did, in which case you both would have spotted those classic rock riffs right away.☺)
As far as new Megadeth songs to listen to goes?
There are very few by Megadeth that are not awesome.
"Peace Sells...But Who's Buying" the album itself is pretty excellent all the way through, as are the monstrous "Rust in Peace", "Countdown to Extinction" (which features several of their biggest hits including the monumental "Symphony of Destruction"; maybe check that song out next, though, because it's brutal and, as always, it has awesome, deeply thought-provoking Dave Mustaine lyrics, and vocals), "Youthanasia", "Cryptic Writings", "Risk", "The World Needs a Hero", even the older "Killing is My Business...and Business is Good" is occasionally worth a listen.
There are competing camps, between Megadeth and Metallica.
Personally, I like both bands.
I don't like choosing sides because they're both awesome.
I think if you listen to one to the exclusion of the other, you miss too much.
Both are heavy, and thrashy, and both have released some great albums.
I can honestly say, however, that I don't recall Megadeth ever having horrible snare drum sounds as Metallica occasionally had to contend with from long-time drummer Lars Ulrich.😒
All the Megadeth albums that featured Nick Menza on drums, Marty Friedman on guitar, David Ellefson on bass, and Dave Mustaine on guitar and lead vocals, are probably consistently the strongest, most consistently heavy and intense albums Megadeth has released.
(But it's pretty rare to find any Megadeth album where there are no good songs on it anywhere.)
@@toddvandell85 except for Risk. That's a Marty and Nick album that is damn near unlistenable.
"Back in my prime when I was 18..." Hahahaha! Hang in there kiddo...
Plenty of great music for youngsters like you fellas to discover.
\m/>.
You MUST listen "Octavarium" from Dream Theater (especially if u like Pink Floyd)
For some reason, whenever I hear Octavarium (which is great), I think of the Octavision project (also pretty good - Victor Wooton on bass, of all things). ua-cam.com/video/_z-ZrQPfY5o/v-deo.html
Yep. One of the best Metal songs ever written.
I saw Megadeth with a buddy of mine from college in Charlotte on their Countdown to Extinction tour (the following album) and, yes, they can play it live. The opened the show with this song and it was almost indistinguishable from the studio recording.
No better heavy Metal band ever than Megadeth!!! GOAT!!!
Agreed. Metallica kept it real until the 90s, then became a mainstream sellout band. Still very good, but not the same. Megadeth however always stuck to their guns with honest, thrashing metal. (I give them a pass for Risk.)
See how the two headbang differently? You lose your Headbanging rythm when you don't know the song, it takes off guard so fucking much because there are so many transitions, and they're FLAWLESS! Man this song is perfection
the punishment due, that part is the story of the comic book character Frank Castle aka The Punisher
Band: Artillery, Album: By Inheritance, Songs: Bombfood, Don't Believe or 7:00 From Tashkent/Khomaniac.
Saw Megadeth in 2010. It was the 25th anniversary of Rust in Peace and they played the entire cd from start to finish with no stopping between songs. Around 48 minutes of music nonstop. Awesome show
I've always liked Megadeth for keeping their sound uniquely their own.
Their 1st album is my personal favorite but I do enjoy their entire catalog
Metal Church, Testament, a number of others.
Wow guys I was like Andy I loved Hanger 18 then I heard Holy Wars and it blew Hanger 18 out of the water for me a true CLASSIC the guitars SCREAM and almost burst ya ear drums especially when wearing headphones.
Great reactions guys my headbanging is in full motion lol.
Stay lucky stay safe Mike UK.
@Mike Embleton
Haha hell yeah man this track got my blood pumping for sure! Cheers Mike! 😁
Dave Mustaine is the second soloist on this song, his solos tend to be a bit more aggressive and speed-demony than the other guitarist, Marty Friedman. He played with Megadeth during the 90's, his solos tend to be much smoother and have lots of arpeggios. Nick Menza, the drummer, was influenced by a lot of jazz growing up, which led to him having a versatile style.
Marty Friedman did all the solos except the last one which was Dave. Peace!
@gashthrasher v.2 No they don't switch back and forth lthey do that on Hangar 18, not holy wars.
@gashthrasher v.2 That is what I said.
Listen to Grateful Dead - Althea live October 1989 (without a net)
What an excellent pick! Marty Friedman playing his ass off, showing us how it's done! Kudos from Canada.
I saw megadeth with anthrax, Alice In Chains, Primus and a couple other heavy hitters. Ya they play that shit live and yeah it was an amazing show!!! This was like in 91 or so. First mosh pit I ever saw in person too.
🤘😎🤘🎶🎸🎶🎸
"Fools like me
Who cross the sea
And come to foreign lands
Don't look now to Israel
It might be your home land"
This was written after Dave caused controversy during a gig in Ireland after he commented on the Troubles.
Best live version I've seen is the one from the Hammersmith Apollo in 1992, probably because it's the same line up as on the album.
Best Thrash Metal Song of All Time ..
Good live Performances of this Song are.
The Big 4 from Sofia,Bulgaria
And
The Rude Awakening Show
Also from Rude Awakening a Must see is the Extended version of "SheWolf" it is an Amazing Performance.
Are u kidding, right? This song is not the best song of Megadeth...this song is not even the best of the "Rust in peace".
Alex is bringing the heat! Epic song.
I still get goosebumps when I hear this, and I've been listening since it was released.
Funny how the dude on the right was staring at him the whole time like "like it like it like it" 😂😂😂 so awkward
@Chris Tolson
Same thing happens when it’s my turn to share on a Monday, maybe we should get a mirror behind the camera so we can see eachothers reaction? No clue lol
Dude on the left, his mind was clearly overloaded from the get go.
Sounds like they were listening to the remasters of that album track.
The guitar and vocals were crystal clear.
Path of Golconda - Return

Band Name - Path of Golconda
Would be great to hear/see you reaction to Path of Golconda. Links to the songs below:

Wolves - ua-cam.com/video/Q-ITKSS2CwQ/v-deo.html
Marty Friedman was the lead guitarist on this album. Of course Mustaine takes solos, too. The 'mercenary' section of the lyrics were inspired by The Punisher comic book character.
You guys are killing it with your song choices in my opinion. Metal is so underappreciated! It is so good to see younger people keeping an open mind and appreciate the depth of the music. Rust in Peace from beginning to end is a masterpiece and one of my top 5 albums of all time. You should eventually listen to it in one sit down. Another great Megadeth song is In My Darkest Hour, check it out. Oh and Frank Castle is the PUNISHER! Hell yeah!
@Chewbacca Wonka
Thanks man! Loving checking out the new tracks! Literally so fun! This song in particular was KILLER!! 😁🔥🔥🤟🏻
First 2 solos played by Marty Friedman, the 3rd superb absolute masterpiece solo is played by Dave Mustaine. The song has two topics, Holly wars speaks about war in the middle East and the punishment due speaks about the Marcel comics character the punisher
J R Dave also played that solo exactly one time while recording. The solo on recording is done in one take....
In this album, the second guitar player was Marty Friedman, while the drummer was Nick Menza.
Caught Somewhere in Time by Iron Maiden 🤘🤘🤟🤘🤘🤘🤟🤘🤟🤘🤘🤘🤟🤘🤟🤘🤘
As for the lyrics, the second half of the song (The Punishment Due) is supposed to be about the Punisher (Marvel comics vigilante/anti-hero).
Holy wars live also from rude awakening. Dread and the fugitive mind and Trust. Great concert
This is the remastered version, FYI.
TORNADO OF SOULS NEXT PLEASE
YES! Megadeth can play this live. Megadeth doesn't jump around the stage like other bands but they are technically great live...if a smidge boring...because they just stand there and play but it's amazing just the same.
i have a playlist for Megadeth called "Skull Beneath the Skin" that goes:
99 WAYS TO DIE
HOW THE STORY ENDS
CHOSEN ONES
BEGINNING OF SORROW
VORTEX
BLACKMAIL THE UNIVERSE
SET THE WORLD AFIRE
GEARS OF WAR
RETURN TO HANGER
VICTORY
MY LAST WORDS
TIME: THE END
DEADLY NIGHTSHADE
POISON WAS THE CURE
ASHES IN YOUR MOUTH
ABSOLUTION
Peace sells but who's buying and In to the lungs of hell are two songs I would highly recommend! The first one is a classic in the metal world and the second is a high powered instrumental that showcases Dave Mustaines incredible playing abilities! There are so many megadeth songs to grace your ears! Another one that made it big was symphony of destruction
This song is a banger
Everything up until the song speeds up to double time is Marty Friedman and at that point Dave Mustaine vocals/guitar plays the final solo.
The second part of the song is based on The Punisher Comic stories.
When I was younger, I was a huge Metallica fan (even have a Metallica tattoo) but when I got older, I really began to like Megadeth more. Both are great but I almost want to give the edge to Megadeth because they were a bit more raw.
I saw Megadeth in July 2017, phenomenal performance! The Dave and the 2nd guitarist trade off solos, don't know the new guy's name. I stopped keeping track when Marty Friedman left the band. Glad you didn't pick a compressed / remastered version of the song. Stay away from new compressed remasters, always opt for original releases of older music.
The best part is, Dave plays the rhythm guitar and solo's WHILE singing. Fuckin' madman he is.
You guys need to listen to Queensryche 'Operation Mindcrime'
the greatest concept album ever created,
the remastered 2003 version is on spotify, it sounds amazing!
Yes. It's brilliant
Saw the operation mind crime tour when they warmed up for def Lepperd. Queensrych blew them off the stage!
I know this song for about as long as it exists , and it's still amazing every time I hear it, one of my favourite songs ever! Would be really cool to see you listen to the whole Rust in peace album, you probably will not survive that!
My first ever Megadeth song....pretty amazing. See where Queen has led me?? Can't wait to check out Alex playing this at 13!!
@sheerqueencat
Haha link is in the video description! And that was my second song, try out Hanger 18! It’s wild! Cheers friend! 😁
@@andyandalex Just checked out the vid....you were pretty awesome at 13!! Will try Hanger 18. Thanks!😀❤️
Devin Townsend - “Deadhead (Live at the Royal Albert Hall)”
🤘
This song is awesome. I bought this album when it first came out when I was in the Army. Check out Symphony of Destruction and Liar (with lyrics).
It was fun watching the guy on the left watching the guy on the right . . . This vicarious thing has levels.
The personal part you're talking about is "The Punishment Due" part of the song. First you see a panned out lens of what holy wars are about, and then Dave puts himself in the position of one of the victims of holy wars coming out for his revenge. It's 2021, and this is still arguably one of the most ass-kicking songs ever recorded in music history. Marty Friedman is the other lead guitar player.
Should have done the video version bro it's fucking killer
Weather is live or recording , they kick ass. Like metallica. Both bands should tour together
There was a big four tour a couple years ago.
Edit: I guess that was last year. Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax.
Dudes, you've GOT to watch Tornado of Souls, it's from this same album (Rust in Peace, 1990)... the whole song, especially the guitar solo is AMAZING ! ! !
Yep. 10. Great choice.
Look up Marty Friedman, and you'll hear quite diverse music (he plays what *he* likes; if you do, too, well that's cool, too, but it's not what he's aiming at these days). Diverse music played by a true maestro. If you hear something you like less, try listening again in a few weeks time (giving him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to taste - what with him being a master of this art -- not that this means his taste is always "right").
And now for something completely different (as Monty Python once said) ... Cardiacs again. If you just want to listen to where they add a bit of tone colour they borrowed from Queen to this song, that happens not long after 2:10 -- and "maxes out" at about 2:30 with the Queenishnesses. Obviously I'd recommend the whole thing, but it's probably in the category of "deep end Cardiacs", so some of it might not settle down nicely in your ears on a first listen. There's quite a lot to digest in this. It might take you a bit of time to finally decide if you like it or not.
(It's a video someone made for them in 1989 - in a kind of "lo-fi" style that might be distracting. If it is, look away. Easy.) Song is called Maresnest (not the All That Glitters is a Mare's Nest concert album, though). ua-cam.com/video/mpXNkfQajk0/v-deo.html
Anyway, really glad to see you've gotten round to Megadeth, (and my favourite Megadeth song of all time - try to find time to listen to the whole of Rust in Peace if you can). Now I must go and watch Alex's shred video.
Apropos Marty Friedman, Rick Beato did a great interview with him a while back (they're friends, so it's not just some journalist asking down the question list - well worth a listen). Here: ua-cam.com/video/_SDwWQGhZ6c/v-deo.html (He talks about his life after Megadeth).
5 MAGICS Megadeth!!!!!!
LOVE THE LOOK ON HIS FACE!!!!
listen to the whole pswb album, or kimb!rust in peace was always good, its how i got into megadeth . when i heard the full album of peace sells , i fell in love. incredible jazz fusion.
The second half of the song (after the middle eastern guitar passage) is about the Marvel comics chatacter, The Punisher. Hence the title "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due". Notice the title is split in two.
"Some people risk to employ me
Some people live to destroy me
Either way, they die
They die
They killed my wife and my baby
With hopes to enslave me
First mistake...last mistake"
Megadeth leader, Dave Mustaine, was a big Punisher and comic book fan. Of course the "Holy Wars" section is about a different topic.
Bravo Andy. You nailed it. And kudos to Alex for bringing this masterpiece to Andy's attention. I used to drive around my piece of crap Oldsmobile Omega with this album blasting from a boom box on my back seat, burning through batteries like crazy. CD or MP3 players in cars!?!?!? No chance Lance. One of the greatest metal songs ever.
lead guitar, Marty Friedman. Rhythm guitar, Dave Mustaine
Kind of true, but they do alternate leads
Someone teach these youngsters how to headbang 😝🤘
Kudos for playing the original version!
This is the remastered version
You should check out the live version from the gig at The Hammersmith Odeon London in 1992. I saw them the year earlier at the same venue when Alice in Chains were the support act. Brilliant gig, still remember it well🤘🏻
You should check out Tornado of Souls from the same album as Holy Wars. The guitar solo is exceptional in this. One of the best I’ve heard, Marty Friedman is the best guitarist that’s played with Dave with Megadeth.
The whole gig from Hammersmith Odeon is the best on UA-cam. Well worth watching mate🤘🏻
First part is the wars in the middle East second part is about the Punisher in the Marvel comics.
Love this. "Rust in Peace" is such a great album.
Keep reacting to *MORE* Megadeth. Holy wars...the punishment due is but a *TASTE* of their awesomeness. 🤘😎
Since you already did one of my favourite bands every (Tool), I'd really like to see what you guys got to say about another one of my latest favs: Dir En Grey - macabre live at tabula rasa 2013
Holy wars is there encore song...............they still tour, go see them live!
The second slow part was more based on the 80s punisher comics dave was reading it I think they fit fine. As for like yeah musically they're always on point but Dave's vocals have suffered for years now and he recently found out he has throat cancer
Marty Friedman does most solos on this song
@Black N White Cookie You would be incorrect. Dave Mustaine plays all the solos. In the video version of this song, it's Dave on the entire song.
@@toddvandell85 - dig deeper my friend. There are considered 3 solos in this song; Marty plays the first 2 & Dave plays the final solo.
Hey guys, I love how you both get into and feel the music as it was intended, its really refreshing to see appreciation for music like you guys have. That being said, have you checked out any primal fear? They are badass and you would like them.🤘🤘
I loved your guys reaction. This album is so dope!! React to tornado of souls brother.
This album and a few albums after had marty Friedman as lead guitar and Dave on vocals and basicly second lead. Probably their best line up. David elfson on bass. And the drummer nick... The newest line up is awesome!
My favourite Megadeth album since I was a teenager. Holy wars is lit 🔥🔥🔥. How about reacting to Pantera--Primal concrete sledge ?
