    I used to need at least 10-11 hours of sleep everyday, sometimes I even slept for 12-13 hours and still felt like it was not enough. A year ago, I began having a morning and an evening routine, which both include meditation. I also do relaxation when I am in bed to fall asleep. I slowly began needing less and less sleep and now, I sleep 8 hours a day and feel perfectly fine. It works. And not only for sleeping. I had never tried to implement such routines, but I decided to give it a try after watching the video you made about your own daily one. Now, I would never go back.

    i almost burned out completely after years of multi-tabling without giving myself rest. i compensated with a lot of caffeine, it took me a while learning the hard way that working out and resting is necessary to keep playing your a-game and not burn out. the cliche, good diet, working out (boxing in my case) and enough sleep is really so important.

    as a recovering alcoholic it is meditation along with a spiritual belief that has kept me sober for 11 years. yes it OK to feel anger but remember its you anger your emotion and you can do the fuck what you like with it . someone some place or some thing might have sparked it BUT OWN IT .you can use it positively or negatively.
    always bring your self back to the breath to ease the monkey mind.
    Thanks Ben

    You actually did keep it pretty simple considering the complexity of this subject. Really enjoyed the video. I have personally noticed a direct correlation between meditation and positive results in sessions. (I primarily play live cash)
    It can get pretty granular when it comes to neuroticism and its sub domains. The conclusions of varies studies on neuroticism indicate its 40% genetic and 60% environmental. That is a generalization and debatable, but it seems fairly accurate. There are ways to alter genetics via epigenetics. Likewise, there are often ways to control our environment to make more suitable for flow. This video drops a lot of quality points.
    Very good healthy content you put out. Much love 🙏

    The key to mindset on bad beats and getting sucked out on ect is you must accept that poker is not a sprint but a marathon and those bad beats, 2 outed ect are just all part of that marathon. It’s funny because we get so used to not getting 2 outed that we don,t expect to get 2 outed and that’s why it’s such a strong shock to our brain as it’s used to the same waves of not getting 2 outed and that shock to the brain courses anger and leaves some people to tilt or not play there A game ect from that point! But as it’s a marathon this means these things must happen as it’s 100% probability correct for it to happen.

    At what point do you just quit? At what point is enough, enough?
    I'm currently about 700 buyins down in 2020. I study 2-3 hours a day, every single day. I meditate, eat healthy, shower cold, work out, rest, play with good focus.
    Before every session I go over some key spots of last session, read my notes a few times and I like to sit in silence and process this for about 5-8 minutes before starting my session.
    I do not tilt when I lose, but I am slowly losing hope of ever becoming a profitable player again. After every session I recap and go through every single tournament. Look at all spots, see where I can improve, what I could do better, make notes, look up answers, run some hands, edit my main note file with whatever I find went wrong and needs changing.
    I do not play with scared money, I am happy in life, in love, with my job and with myself and with where I am in life. Yet, literally 95% (i could send you my HM3 stats) of my deepruns end in getting sucked out on at the final 4 tables, final 3 tables, final 2, etc. Huge equity spots.
    I review the tournaments and come to the conclusion I play to the maximum of my capabilities. I don't make major mistakes, i just run bad in a sickening amount of key spots, leading to the -700 buyin streak I am currently going through.
    My question? My question is simple. What should I do? I am literally doing every single thing I should be doing to become a profitable player and to do it the right way. Everything Ben teaches, I've absorbed into my routine.
    Do I take a break? Do I keep going hoping my luck turns around? Do I quit? Do I study more? Less? Any tips are welcome, because I'm more and more thinking about giving up the dream of being a poker pro if this run keeps going. I have 4 close friends and we all started studying and grinding at around the same time and they all have progressed into the midstakes and even lower highstakes and have brilliant ROI doing so. Two of them have already been able to quit their jobs and live off poker and I am 700 buyins down in the microstakes.
    Help.

      moment of silence for this guy :(

    • @danilostevanovic
      @danilostevanovic 4 роки тому +4

      You should always have some alternative. There will be always high stake players that are crushing, but those that are losing are always silence. If you really studied, your brain should be in good shape so you can study something else. If you have less than 5bb/100 hands, you should move on lower stakes even if that means that you can't get out of makeup. I was learning too every day for the last 6 months and basically at some point just saw that I should learn something else just to have an alternative and started some programming course which you can buy for 10$ nowadays.
      And on microstakes you should really focus on how to exploit fishes, no gto and similar shit at all. No balancing, if you think that you have knowledge try to avoid big spots in late phase of the tournament as much as you can and to steal small spots from fishes.
      Don't know is it helpful, but this is my opinion. :)

    • @pabl1to33
      @pabl1to33 4 роки тому +1

      You have to play smaller fields to become profitable on a constant basis. If you can up your avg buy-in a bit and play tournaments that have less registered players it will be better. The skill of players in higher buy-in tournaments is not staggering. Im sure you can beat higher stakes if you focus on each decision you face. Also I do not recommend to play on Pokerstars. Look for a smaller site, which offers some lower stake tournaments.

      im far from being a good poker player as i am only a casual player in the weekends but heres my advice:
      in your situation you REALLY need to calm down and stop hunting the adrenaline! you have to be prepared to grind for alot of hours on lower stakes without losing focus or motivation. it is the only way!
      i have a friend who does not have BRM at all and goes broke all the time..
      he loads up 50 bucks and than he plays a 50 bucks tournament because all he cares for is how much money he can win if he grabs the W. ofcourse he never ever wins and goes flat broke. every weekend again. because he chooses to gamble instead of playing solid poker.
      me on the other hand, i deposited 3x 10 euros in total in the past half year to play 1 and 2 euro tournaments.. now im sitting at a healthy 380euros bankroll strictly from playing 1 and 2 euro tournaments.. lots of time spend for basicly no show but if i can keep this up for the years to come it could be a very nice bankroll in the future.
      if your not prepared and motivated to grind low stakes and build up your bankroll very carefully than you will NEVER be able to maintain a bankroll at higher stakes either. if you play 5k buy in tournaments for a year, than after that year you wont get a adrenaline rush from it anymore and you want to play 10k or 25k buy ins.. there is no end to it.
      dont play to feel a rush or gamble.. play because you want to be good in the game and make a long term profit.
      if you know you cant get yourself to that mindset than you will never ever get to where you wanna be in poker as you constantly will be punting off your bankroll.
      you are capable of building a solid bankroll from 50 to 2600.. impressive. but all will be wasted if you cannot control the urge to gamble by playing to high stakes or managing your tilt.
      hope this is of any help to you and best of luck!
