      Same bro. I definitely struggle when I’m in one of those awkward stack sizes around the bubble, like 10-20bb range. And especially if there’s big stacks to my left who are aggro and 3 and 4bet a lot.

    • @SoFasT99
      @SoFasT99 3 роки тому +1

      Same. Had a tourny today where i was chip leader at the start but then around the bubble stacks got shorter, i think i tightend too much cuz i was scared the short stacks will jam on me. I didnt wanna open marginal hands and played too passivly. Blinded out from 30 to 12bb . shoved it with TT vs QJ and lost a flip. I would rather never put myself in that position where i have to shove but there is much more for me to learn and improve.

    I like this type of content. Picking a specific part of the tree. I would love to see something similar about overbetting and blockbetting. Especially overbetting. Sometimes I feel like I would get paid more by betting pot instead of an overbet. And get more folds with my bluffs if I overbet (eploitative). I have no evidence of this though.

      After seen the video. Knew it was going to be good! Worth every second. Thanks Ben! Agree with the statements. Kindoff surprised we do so little jamming on BB vs UTG at 30bigs. I thought we were crazy and mixed both Axs, some Higher suited broadways and even jamming stuff down to A8o. Not all the time but probably 50% or more. I for sure have played this spot way too aggressive.. I even jam those lower-middle pairs. Guess I have to tighten up a bit and call more, raise less! Raise your edge, not raise your stack away :D

    Hi Bencb,
    Great content. I struggle at the moment playing from the big blind with 8 - 12 bb. Am I supposed to call an open-raise (2x vs. 3x) or should I stick to a fold-shove strategy?
    In case I am supposed to call, should I check-jam every pair (including lowest pair) and every draw (incl. gut-shot straight draw)? Am I ever just calling the c'bet on the flop?
    Recently I was in the big-blind with 7d-6d with 11bb on the final table of low-stakes MTT and the button opened with 3x - I decided to call and "hit" a Gutshot on a Kh-8s-4s board and was quite unsure what to do against a 20% c'bet from the PFA - ended up calling his c'bet. Appreciate if you could let me know your thoughts for this exact situation.
    Thanks for taking the time.

  • @pavel8602
    @pavel8602 3 роки тому +1

    Not to forget, all this is a general quide... All these numbers and % only right, if we think our opponent has the "perfect" opening range. For example - once you face a 2.3x open from the CO, who has 11/8/2 stats over 200 hands with high % barreling freq..., u wont have the same equity postflop, as Ben mentioned in Video.
    Since the opening range much tighter there and you will face double barrels much more often from a much tighter range, I'd drop the lower bottom of my defending range there and fold pre. This wont hurt me, since this tight guy will also fold much more often and not go for a steal

    • @RaiseYourEdge
      @RaiseYourEdge  3 роки тому +1

      Indeed Pavel, it's important not too look too much into the numbers and think more about the why and try to understand the concept, so you can apply it in other situations vs different opponents as well and make the adjustments necessary!

    @shamarbauyrzhan7997 3 роки тому

    Hi Ben! Subscribed to your channel about 2 months ago, so far huge fan of your content! Can I ask you a question related to the equiy realization concept? What is the correct way to model your opponents fold likelyhood to your bet. If you do only a fold frequency calculations it has a big problem, it does not take his equity into consideration. Again, if you make it equal to your estimation of his equity (1-your equity) then it becomes indifferent to his equity realisation. If you take his HUD numbers it is like a huge black box that shows aggregarted data and does not allow you to analize why he would fold this often. Would be very glad to recieve some tips of thoughts on this question.

    Amazing content! Thank you! I have a question. What is recomended EV on 20k hands per month on filters for 60bb? What is your advice how to make this EV growing playing 20$ ABI?

    • @RaiseYourEdge
      @RaiseYourEdge  3 роки тому +1

      Here is our guideline:
      -5bb - 0bb = loosing player => move down ASAP
      0bb - 2bb = playing too high, late game & ICM Mistakes make you a loosing player
      2bb - 5bb = slightly winning player, roi is still low and variance can be brutal
      5bb - 7bb = good win rate, you should be one of the better regs in the games you're playing, still take care of Late Game & ICM, if your ROI is not as good as expected.
      7bb - 10bb = Crusher of your Stakes! Place to be!
      10bb+ = probably playing too low. Move up Nit!

    Hi Bencb, thanks so much for the great video. Just a quick question for you or anyone that has an answer in the comments - Is there a reliable way to work out equity realisation yourself?

    • @RaiseYourEdge
      @RaiseYourEdge  3 роки тому

      Thank you Robbie, unfortunately there are way too many scenarios and factors to consider. So all you can do is keep in mind things that impact equity realization, such as the opponent you play against, the stacksizes and your hand. Suited hands and connected hands will always have a better equity realization

  • @lobsterworldwide
    @lobsterworldwide 3 роки тому

    Isn’t equity realization impacted by range composition? For example, when you had AA etc. in the flatting ranges, it’s really making your weaker flats appear to realize more equity than they actually do.

    • @RaiseYourEdge
      @RaiseYourEdge  3 роки тому

      The equity realization is being calculated by solvers, where indeed ranges impact things because if we have a stronger range, villain can bet less and we will see more turns and rivers.

      Kjs performs better as call. Both are profitable jams, KTs is a little bit better as a call than jaming. KJs is better as call since we dominated more of his opening range. Kjs is still a good rejam too but again performs a little bit better as a call. Also with KT we fold out a few more better hands than KJ.

      Paul Jones BBvsSB is not easy to play and it takes lots of time and study so dont worry and work on it. The number 1 tip is actually wacth the player on your left and evolve your ranges based on how he plays
