HI everyone, i deeply recommend you to read " you can't hurt me" of david goggins, it's gonna put your mind and physical habilities on complete other level . great book and amazing autor
What I love about reading is the ability to study GREATNESS! What an amazing time we live where we can tap into the greatest minds that have ever lived.
I am very grateful that i watched this video when i did and am now halfway through "A New Earth" thank you, it's changed and will continue to change my life for the better.
Loving these videos about mindset. The power of now from E.T. is another great book. Vaster Than Sky, Greater Than Space by Mooji and Inner Engineering by Sadhguru are another great books. Definetely helping in poker. Thanks for an amazing content. Peace bro.
My advice would be to check Stoicism for every poker player. It's ancient roman philosophy. Dichotomy of control and other aspects of this philosophy can be greatly incorporated in poker player's mindset. Look for Epictetus, Marcus Aurelius and Seneca's writings.
Ben you are on my mind! I wanted to ask you about the books you have read and BOOM The new video! thanks for your great work man! your videos are food for thought and make new neurons in my brain not only for poker but also for daily life! Thanks a looot!
Hi Ben. Great video as always! Could you list the names of the books in the video description or in a comment below (or in discord)? So when coming back we don‘t have to search for the titles in the video. Would be awesome! :)
thank you Ben for sharing this, its really appreciated :). My next read will be 'deep work'! Personnaly, a book that change my view on life was by Eckart Tolle also, his well known "Power of now". I try to stay humble and show gratitude to be alive everyday...Enjoy the ride! Peace
very strong video Ben, thoughtful and wisely delivered, liked it alot! I was about to write the same thing about David Goggins - Can´t hurt me - it wil change everything one thinks about mindset profoundly for sure, it is a hell of a story and one of the most motivating stuff I´ve ever read. As you are also more and more into meditation and mindfulness I highly recommend the science of enlightenment by Shinzen Young - it is pure gold imo and completely reopened my mind within the realm of meditation. I´m pretty sure you will love it as much as I did in case you don´t know it yet, do you?? PS regarding Goggins...audible is king ;)
Hi Ben, great list, great video. I will check out the ones I have not read. Based on my opinion and Life experience, I would add the following ones: "The Obstacle is the Way" & "Ego is the Enemy" by Ryan Holiday, "Why Buddism is True" by Robert Wright, "Essentialism" by Greg McKeown, "Lying" by Sam Harris, "Principles" by Ray Dalio, "The Suble Art of Not giving a F***" by Mark Manson. Thanks again! Jerome
Hey Ben, thanks for sharing valuable information! My favourite book is Relentless by Tim Grover. I'm pretty sure you will like it. This book is awesome for everybody who wants to improve theirs training routines or simply get a huge motivational boost.
Thinking, fast and slow by kahnemann is a good book to understand how our brain works and how we can control our thinking processes. It has helped me a lot to make more conscious decisions at the tables.
Those are nice books and thank you for inside. Little feedback that would make the video easier to watch - while reviewing the book - keep it in the context - by mentioning it occasionally again by it's title - or - by keeping graphics that would refer to the book's title
My prefered books für a good mindset and personal development: Stephen R. Covey The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People „Switch“ ( chip and dan Heath) „Focus“ (Hermann Scherer)
Hey Ben, thank you for sharing your top 5 with us. It is incredible how much value and power books can have for our lifes. I'm looking forward to read all your top 5. My personal recommendation especially for poker mindset are the books by Jared Tendler "Mental Game Of Poker". @ben: Which Ranking has the book "Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself" ("Ein neues Ich" (in german)) by Joe Dispenza? (I recommend this book as well.)
Ben, i have a question regarding the profitability of the games today. I find that i run into player after player grinding out $50-75 per day (at pretty high stakes). I was just wondering, like what hourly do you aim for when you play? How many hours do you play usually? Is being a PURE poker grinder still a feasible method to earn decent money, or are poker players backed into the corner of doing something else on the side, such as coaching or writing a book? Or can some people really earn enough from poker to ONLY do that? If so, how hard is that to attain these days? Feels like the edges being so thin would lead to HUGE breakeven/losing stretches and be close to impossible to work through? I'm trying hard to keep the dream alive, but i'm starting to think possibly poker will be a better hobby for me than a job.... But i don't want to think that.
Hey Ben, I’m a member of your Raise Your Edge Tournament Master Class. What software/tool do you recommend for hand analysis/solver? And for PioSolver, which package should I get? Basic or Pro?
Hi Sam, Bencb uses Power Equilab & ICMizer 3. For Pio Basic should be enough to start with, but note that PioSolver is not a requirement, here is a video where Ben shows how you can also study without a solver: ua-cam.com/video/7FR1c58k87k/v-deo.html
Lieber Ben.... Man weiß, wonach man sucht. Nichts davon ist "Life changing" . Die Bibel ist Life changing. Brian Tracy. Es geht eben nicht um Long Term and sacrificing today for a better tomorrow... Das ist ausgelutscht! Ich will mich ja nicht komplett verändern (müssen). Ich will mehr hiervon und davon, um mich NICHT zu verändern. Short term thinking. That's why so many people started their poker career or any other in the gambling market. Jordan Belfort said it once very clear and I guess 99% of viewers felt that he understands them... He said: " Get rich. And do it quickly." As long as nobody can bring up a book/system which really work under this criterias, is everything bullshit and helping only the writer of the book. I have no idea, why you did this video, but I am disappointed. This is 0815 stuff, which anybody, who struggle for freedom (money and success) should feeling pissed. Because hard work and sacrificing today for a better tomorrow is not really new and obviously not life changing! Regards
That is your opinion. Those books have changed my life. Period. Just because you dont like them or you have a different approach doesnt mean it cant help othes. You have the right to be dissapointed. But sometimes people simply have different approaches towards life :) Have a good Sunday :)!
@@RaiseYourEdge I was not targeted to be disrespectful to you. It is simple, I expect more value from Bencb789😅 It bothers just, to read always the same stuff. Have a successful Sunday.
Un Allemand I haven‘t read the Books (yet) so I can‘t say if they are bullshit or not. BUT I can say to you that everyone is different. Me for example when I read a comment that recites Jordan Belfort as someone to take advice from I become very skeptical. If your goal is to aquire money/wealth short term, that’s fine (as long you don‘t screw people over which, lets be honest is the the most profitable way most of the time). But why should you feel pissed if someone has a very different approach to life and shares that and what literature helped/inspired him? I found the video interesting and will check out some of the books. If they don’t work for me, that‘s fine, books don‘t really cost a fortune and it’s never a bad idea/investment to read something, so why not read something that someone you respect recommends to you? I really don‘t get how a list of books that someone recommends (and even explains why) can make me pissed. It’s not like he is selling two-year contracts for an insurance-company that you can‘t get out of...
