How do you stay patient on the poker table? And how do you develop self control over your money and your mind? Let me know what you guys think!

Fantastic stuff, thank you for the reminders. The simplicity of your meditation is helpful, and the reminder that the way we do one thing is the way we do everything, in that discipline is practiced in many areas of life is spot on!

Thanks for the video, I've recognized that these are the two most important things I need to work on most in my life as well as the poker table. Nothing else works - no advice, strategies, diets etc. useless without these two elements in your life.

    • @Sam_Ho

Hi Eric - absolutely I completely agree. Your mental game is #1 in my opinion, not just for poker but also for life. Especially when as poker players we are dealing with money everyday it is so important to be able to stay disciplined.
I'm happy you liked the video bud and thanks for your message :)

Thanks for sharing your experience. Even so I think you are a bit of an outlier in your ability to stay focused for 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week. With the best of effort, I don't think this is possible for most people. Anyway, you are a very good presenter as well.

Thanks Sam for the honest advice. I find your content very relatable and charming. Hope i can implement what you have said. I really enjoy the battle that is poker. I can usually have a good run for weeks and be highly profitable, but will eventually throw everything back in one crazy uncontrolled session. Loved and played and thought about the game for many years, at times thinking about just giving up and feeling i will never get any better. Hope i'm not the 'fish'. Will keep persevering though. Thanks heaps Sam. Regards.

Thanks Phong for your kind message I really appreciate you taking the time! Yes many times in the past I have built my roll online only to decimate it in just a couple of sessions, withdraw all my remaining cash then 'quit' the game for a year so. Any serious poker player who tells you they have never gone broke is lying :) Good luck at the tables and I hope you can take useful lessons to apply in your personal life too!

That helped a lot, I should be a winning poker player but discipline let’s me down. (I’m pretty sure I’ve a mild form of adhd) I knew I had to do something but didn’t know what/why/how. Thank you. Oh and, I’m betting ironing is not in your daily disciplines 😉😂

Hi Major, and thanks for your comment I'm happy you found the video useful! Building habits is very powerful way to build your discipline, if you haven't already I recommend you read Atomic Habits by James Clear - I will be making a video about this soon. Great name by the way :)
