Great job buddy 😎👍
And again great info mate👍👍👍
Thanks buddy 😎👍
Thanks mate, bit fiddly but think it worth it😎👍🏻
I always use piper cross filters with all cars I buy and remap. On my M135i it made the turbo sound awesome, so definitely makes a difference 👍
Can’t wait to get mine fitted mate see if there is more turbo noise 👍😎
@@330dfam definitely should have, as had it on my 335d and it did 🙌
@@the_jnlt_channel extras turbo tho 😎👍😂
@@330dfam true 😂
nice bit of content bro ther was a big differance on sound lovely little wistle from her great channel bro keep up the good vids bro stunning👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Thanks buddyHe did well need him to get round and fit mine for the f30 😂😂I thought it sounded a little different
Thanks appreciated the comment 😎👍🏻
Didn’t know M Sport uses a different filter. Good to know 👍🏼
Hi mate Tom told me this before had a quick read up and it seems to be a thing 🤷♂️I never had a clue
Nether do I mate but they do, worth mentioning if your getting yours serviced at a garage, probably cost a bit more but if your not driving down deer tracks all day worth it
I’ve had a look at the pipercross filters before. Don’t know will it make a difference to Diesel engines compared to a petrol
Should do mate it’s all the same principle getting the air in 👍😎
@@330dfam might one worth ordering in the near future 😁
Does the top part of the black plastic case housing sort of fold over the top of the filter?
Replaced mine today, was able to get the front clip back on but couldn't for the life of me get the rear clip back on... of course it then started raining so I had to abandon it with 1 clip holding it. The top black plastic ridge of the filter is above the top of the housing, not by much at all only a few mm perhaps but I suspect it's not been pushed down quite far enough.
I drive an M Sport (M performance styling and writing on the side skirts) 2017 reg F30 335D. My old filter was also just the standard one, with a white foam material on the back and the one I replaced it with was exactly the same.... apparently they had several options including a standard one or an anti-microbial one but there was no mention of an M Sport variant.
Hi mate, it is fiddly with the shroud, but it fits inside the lip, the only issue I had was getting the bottom to seat correctly, but with some patience it does seat correctly, 😎👍🏻
I got it sorted eventually. If I took the filter out, I could pull one part of the casing up and it would line up fine, but as soon as I put the filter back in, the detachable plastic air filter housing wouldn't line up properly at the top again, only by a few mm.
I found it was quite hard to push with all my strength across the car to push the filter housing back in with the filter inside, and also push the clips forward and then pop the clips into place. Ended up getting good old help from dad who pushed the casing as hard as he could whilst I pulled the clips forward with a screwdriver then popped them into place....
Before getting help i spent a good half hour faffing about with it.
When I got a hand it took less than a minute to get both clips in place, starting with the back clip as there's a plastic covering on mine near where the bonnet joins the lower part of the windscreen which makes accessing the rear clip a nightmare! Many hands make light work as they say.
Cheers! @@330dfam
Good u got it sorted, I found it fiddly 🤦🏼♂️😎🤷🏼♂️
I brought a pipecross for my a3 2.0tdi in the past, i think it did give a bit more throttle response, it might just be subliminal tho 😂
I know what u mean mate, the difference is subtle, but makes u feel like it’s better/faster😂
It does all help tho I do like pioercross over k and n tho
any problems with it yet? just had one delivered and was on google, some say it messes up the MAF system letting oil through the filter, don't know whether to fit it now, cheers
Hi mate Tom fitted mine it was in the car over a year and no problems obviously car is gone but all of toms cars are still running them no issues 💪
Whilst you’re under there, it’s worth checking the MAP sensor as they get plugged with EGR grime over time.
Worth knowing mate, was just a quick fitment for today as Iv also got one for lizs e92 330d (didn’t want her to be left out 😂) but I’ll look into it 😎👍🏻
Just be careful removing the map sensor as the plastic is really brittle and they snap off in the intake
Good call buddy 👍
Part number for the air filter is no different between M Sport and non M Sport models. There was a redesign at some point, but that's it.
Hi mate thanks for sharing 😎👍
Mines going in for a stage 1 dpf delete swirl flap delete and egr delete on the first. If I change this air filter what do you reckon the extra gains would be?
To add its also going on a rolling road with this map and xhp gearbox tune
The gains from the filter probably won’t be that much mate to honest
Little extra turbo whistle 💪
I’ve got a 430d and have been thinking about getting a filter like this, mine is already stage 1 tuned
Hi mate, fitted mine, was a bit fiddly, just got to make sure the bottom is located, only issue I have is the piper-cross filter is in two half’s, so make sure it’s located properly at the bottom, can’t see there being an issue with k&n BMC filters etc, it’s just when u clean them and re apply oil that u might get issues with maf if u over apply oil, mine has a better induction noise when idle and raved, u can hear it if the window is down while driving😂, and does feel likes it picks up better but it won’t give u any major gains, I still need to get mine mapped, we need to fit martins to see what it’s like on std 1 map, but it’s more easy maintenance than big BHP😎👍🏻
Only went pipercross as no oil, easy clean and won’t mess with mass sensor
Hi mate ile be getting Tom to fit mine soon as it’s mapped see if there’s is any difference 👍
Be interesting to know if there is any change, I find the stage 1 picks up a lot quicker than standard but it would be nice to pick a little sharper
Defo be interesting In happy with the performance from the stage one just hoping for a little more turbo noise 😎👍
I'd just watch the foam doesnt break up over time on them filters. They have for me on a previous car.
It's a shame it's too tight under the bonnet on these to run an open filter.
Hi mate I know what you mean I’d probably change it after a year or so anyway .literally no space under the lid for much on these 😩
Hopefully it doesn’t mate, but interested to hear you’ve had problems, the filter is meant to be a lifetime warranty, and has a mesh on the inside so shouldn’t suck the foam in, pipercross are a well known and long standing brand so interesting you’ve had issues in the past
I have just fitted one of these but soon after the engine amber warning light turned on. Have you experienced something similar? Cheers
Hi mate take it out re fit because it’s that tight when Tom
Fitted it he found it didn’t seat at the bottom and there was a slight nick the light came on …re fit use a torch check everything look seated it will be fine ..
He fitted it on mine no issues 😎👍
Hi mate like Martin said, just make sure the bottom is fully located when u slide it in as the filter is in two halves, the best advise I can give is make sure the plastic intake part is loose but located at the bottom, slide the filter in with the mettle back plate, and use a torch to make sure the filter is fully located at the bottom before clipping the housing back, it is an easy job just a bit fiddly 👍🏻
@@Tom-dz7of thanks so much for your help guys! I will give this ago tomorrow. 👍
@@supes323 how did u get on mate, u manage to sort it?
@@Tom-dz7of I wasnt sure if the bottom part was sitting right so I spent an hour removing the whole filter box including the section the maf sensor is on. Its a bit fiddly to remove but detach the air hose both sides, hex bolt at the top, unplug maf. Also need to partially remove the fuse box to provide enough room to remove the whole filter box out. I then assembled the whole thing outside of the engine and put it all back. Im glad I did as it would never sit right all round, especially at the bottom as there is a slight obstruction with the air filter box bottom mount where it meets the filter. Hopefully its all sorted now and no more engine light. 🤞
