We recommend you to clean your air filter every 12,000-15,000 Miles (19,000-24,000 Kilometres). But this is dependant on your driving conditions and climate.
@@forgemotorsport Hi. I’ve emailed you guys a number of times asking if the pleated filter blocks out dust during dust storms because we get a lot of those where i live, i havent heard back. I’m asking this with the intent of seeing if its worth swapping the pleated cone for a foam cone or to see if you sell prefilter socks
@@SparkySubie Hello, which email address did you send it too? :) If you send it to media@forgemotorsport.co.uk I will get an answer for you first thing Monday!
@SparkySubie They do, but depending on the application depends on how much dust it is able to filter, due to the filter being oiled or non-oiled. If you require further information please use the email I referenced above :)
Would like to know the same. I'm pretty sure the cleaning spray in that might be corrosive though? He said not to use corrosive cleaners. Please correct me if I'm wrong
Hi, so I emailed forge and they told me the K&N cleaner spray is okay to use on the pleated one. Although its corrosive it's not as corrosive as something like bleach which is what they meant in this video
@@SparkySubie they responded to you? I've sent them 3 emails and they don't respond. During install I was confused because I had an extra part. Emailed, no response. Emailed twice about cleaning solution. No response. This will be the first and last Forge product I purchase.
@@tysoncolley8110 Yup. They got back to me, I asked like 10 separate questions and the guy who wrote me always answered. Though it did take a while to hear from him
Hi Scott, you can oil pleated filters but we wouldn't advise if your vehicle has a MAF sensor. Also, you can buy replacement filters on their own on our website :)
It might be worth splitting this I to two videos and maybe add a section with a list of products each video applies to… there seems to be some confusion about what is considered pleated and what wants to be oiled.
Pleated filters have pleats in them, and foam is the bubbly textured filter. On our website, for each induction kit we list both options with an explanation, but we can look at making a video discussing the difference :)
Used this guide to clean my PRL filter on my FK8 using the Pipercross kit. Cheers mate.
I have an i30N induction kit, inlet adapter and intercooler on the way! You guys make absolutely top notch bits of kit. I can't wait!
Thank you so much! Great to hear such positive feedback :) Do tag us in anything on social media so we can see what you are up too!
thank you for this video
after how many kilometre i need clean the foam filtre ?

@@forgemotorsport thank you
In my experience I notice the decrease in performance after 8-10K Km so as mentioned it depends per environment :)
@@msalwayssalty thank you for your reply
peace bro ✌
Does the second filter you cleaned require oiling?
No, the pleated filter does not require oiling :)
@@forgemotorsport Thanks :)

No oil on the pleated? The wire on mine is showing signs of rust

Did he use the cheaper washing up liquid or was it there to not be used?
Yes! The Washing up liquid is only used on the pleated filter though, you can see this being used at 6:29.
Can you use k&n filter oil on the forge foam filters?
