Great range test of three great EVs. It would be interesting with a non performance P2. I would imagine that would perform better.

Glad you liked it. Tell your wife I'm sorry.. But in my defence. I parked outside the road authority office/workshop. They are closed on Sundays, so aren't no one there. Would never park in a disabled bay
Cancelled my xc40 order and ordered the p2 instead. Got the p2 3 weeks ago and love it!

Can't wait for my order to arrive! I solely picked it for it's looks and not having to "drop" in to drive. Mostly the latter. 🤣
You'll love it, got mine in May, the aggressive one pedal is a joy. Personally I've never liked screens sticking out of the dash like they've been bolted on as an afterthought
No rear wiper isn't an issue either

@@seatroutonfilm so, as a new ev driver in general, I'd highly recommend considering a level 2 charger at home (if this pertains to you).
The car itself, I went with the dual motor and wool blend seats, it goes well with the thunder grey color and I have no complaints in my 7 months of use. As mentioned above, the one pedal driving feels extremely good, very controlling and natural. Ride quality is great, really responsive with an aggressive pickup speed. I actually feel weird driving an ICE now with 2 separate pedals. The glass top is really nice, and bright hot sunny days feel fine. It was weird updating software for your car, but it is what it is, if the software is f'd the vehicle itself still functions, so I've been told (not that I've experienced it). The infotainment is a nice portrait style mounted into the dash. I use Android Auto, Google's interface works really well, it does not have that slow/lag/delay feeling when in use.
Rear view camera can get dirty easy if driving in a lot of wet/snowy weather, but this is probably a general problem for all vehicles for the most part, easy 3 sec cleaning fix. Rear window, lol. Be comfortable with not seeing further than about 20 ft behind you before adjusting yourself, but your side mirrors work very well. 360 camera for tight spaces is really nice.
Oh, one downside I think that plagues this vehicle is cold weather. Even with the cold weather package you really feel that 160-175ish mi. range. I also had a preheat schedule plugged in for the mornings, it's a real battle. With the warm weather driving of late I can tell the difference in getting the 200+ mi range, it really is that pronounce with the cold/hot environment. Morning routine difference between the weather is about 5%. Doesn't seem much but that doesn't account for your return and any other driving you do. No 500+ mi journeys yet but I have had to utilize a 150K charger (Electrify America) driving to the airport and back, a little more than an hour away. I left at about 65% battery, I only charged about 15-20 min, and still arrived home with 35-40% battery.
Overall, I still feel really good about the $62K price tag. Hopping in and just driving without needing to 'turn on' the car is an awesome touch (there's no push start function), small to average humans fit just fine in the back. The drive shaft bump is useless and can be annoying to know, lol.
If it was in the $70K range, I might feel different because of the range.
@christian vega Thanks! Nice to hear that you haven't had any big issues. I tested the 23 model yesterday, and I'm really close to ordering a 2024 model. It was such a great drive.
As for range, that's the most important thing for us. 578 km (359 miles) here in Scandinavia (🇩🇰) on the new RWD that's coming 💪🏼 200 DC charging. It's gonna be a blast, I think.
About the driveshaft bump: There's a very good reason. In this extended range, they use the space to pack the (xtra) batteries.
The new mk2 PS2 SM/LR would obviously do better, and is a car I’m looking forward to seeing tested as it’s in my shortlist for my first EV (in a few years time)!
Will get a C40 or P2 as a company car. C40 offers a lot more bang for ur buck. P2 only seems to win by infotainment. Havent driven them tho. What do u think?
Just to add info about (my) tesla Modelr 3 LR 2021 (Shangai factory), 18" factory wheels.
I reset the trip calculator on March 22 and counted until September 22nd:
A 3921km spring/summer period results : 13.6kW/100km on average with 50% of the highway.
I was not driving Eco way, but also not the high speed either(except twice when on Germany Autobahn, about 400km)
Now i am doing the same for autumn/winter period ( I already see higher consumption as the temperatures are getting lower)
I would pick the polestar 2 all the way!
Drive both like me and you will see that the i4 is the much, much better car.
In fact the Polestar 2 is one of the worst of All Cars and EVs I have driven...more than 20 in my live.
Noisy, claustrophopic, finds any hole and sends it straight into your back. And you hear each wheel turn... Noisy like crazy.
Laneassist rips the wheel out of your Hand...awful. I am used to my Passat and would never ever even think about to exchange the car for this awful Engineering.
The i4 would be a different story...
having actually OWNED a Polesrar 2 for 7 months, I have to fully disagree with absolutely everything you said. I've also owned a model Y and own an ioniq 5 and have driven many evs, so I'm not a newbie. MyPoleatar is by far my favorite ev I've owned. A test drive doesn't make you an expert, but owning one does.

It's better in terms of efficiency, and range 👍 Maybe better in other aspects also, but that depends what you need. If you need proper ground clearance it's not the best. Same if you need much car at a "low" price.. So best are are very subjective. The BMW i4 are expensive yes, but you get more power, bigger battery but most important for me are the increased interior qualities compared to P2 and C40
BMW i4 one pedal drive was set on low (not off) while Volvo and Polestar where switched off. Was wondering why you chose to switch it off? Polestar 2 has a massiv recuperation when going downhill which would positively impact the consumption.
Hello. Can't turn it completely off in the i4, but low are almost off. I'm not a fan of the one pedal drive. And there's been several test that shows it doesn't have a positive effect on consumption for such a trip. That's also a reason to turn it off, but main reason are that I don't like it. And neither do the other two drivers
Actually it does the exact same recuperation with the brake pedal when one pedal is off. Correct me if I’m wrong.
So far i know, is one pedal drive linked to B-Mode over the the drive selector. With the setting to low regen, you might lose the coasting capitibilty. The the adiptiv regen would show slightly better results.
Would non-performance P2 be more efficient than the performance version?
Non performance single motor is my choice, I have done 520km without charging. But performance if need, then performance with sw update. It’s snappy and nice to drive. It’s not like with bmw, you need to tint the windows to drive it😂😊 , Nah bmw is a nice car with awesome performance and range.
Yeah slightly, but that's primarily due to other alloys. Can get 19" that would be better in terms of consumption and range.

What? Are you kidding? 🤣 Polestar doesn't have any color. Volvo only have Fusion Red. However, i4 have Red, blue, green, orange, frozen blue and maybe also the individual options. Nothing you like? I'm a huge fan of the Portimao blue and the San Remo Green 😎
@@volvo_kristian but I want ordinary silver or grey paint. For example glacier silver or space grey! I'm too old for a red, green or blue car :)
get the i4 e40 in Skyscraper grey or pick one of >100 indvidual colors. Or just pick white or black.
I love the P2 but too bad its so unreliable with many TCAM issues.

Not true at all. Have it for more than a year, and no issues.

Telematics and Connectivity Module. It controls all of the connectivity with the car: GPS, LTE, Bluetooth, key fobs, etc
I have a C40 and have experienced issues with the TCAM.
