If you bought your Gladiator with spray in bedliner, you will need to get a 6mm 1.00 tap to chase the threads or you will have a hard time getting the bolts to seat.

Loving the idea! I may have missed it in the video, but is the unistrut a 12 or 14 gauge?

Where did you get the materials? Also, what the name of the trail rail bar? What are the sizes and type of screws or bolts needed for the installation? Nice work.

Great job! Do you know what size screws are needed for the factory holes with nutserts? I need to tap mine because they are filled with the spray bed liner.

Sweet mod I've been thinking about doing the same. Have you found any issues with mounting anything or has everything gone on as expected!

Everything has been great so far. I have a WaterPort mounted to the rails which is pretty heavy when filled with water and it does fine. I'm also working on a custom camper shell that uses mounts to bolt to the rails and they're very sturdy. I'll be making a video on this soon.

@@outdooreqt2469 awesome thanks for your time. I'll def be checking out your videos. I'm interested in doing a rack eventually as well so curious how everything would work.

I am curious about one thing. I noticed the unistrut you're using is about half as thick as the Mopar bed rail or some aftermarket bed rails. Have you had any issues with it being so shallow?
All of the other trail rails I've seen come out flush with the edge of the top rail. Also I was curious as to how long you cut your rails.

@@blackpearlvoyager4174 I haven't had any issues so far but now that you mention it.. I would recommend going with a deeper unistrut rail just to avoid any clearance issues. So far I have only mounted tie downs, my customer camper, and traction boards and haven't had issues with strength or clearance. I'll be sure to post an update video in the next week or so. Feel free to subscribe!

@@milanopat Thanks for taking the time to reply. Because of your video I was inspired to install some rails for a bed rack from Datin Ind that requires rails. It will fit around the Softopper on my Gladiator so I don't loose the use of it with a roof top tent.
