    Nice mod. I did the same thing a few months ago. Works great for my 12 volt cooler.

    Nice. I may do this once it cools off in Florida so projects are easier. I have that same expandable bar in my bed. Really handy and convenient for keeping things in place.

    Excellent video. I was going to do a direct connect but now after watching your video, I will hook to Jeep aux switch and program to turn on only when running.

    I know old post but you can ground the plug back near the plug and then just run one wire to the battery.

    I think, and this is just me, I would not have cut around the plug to pull it off. Instead I'd leave plug in place and drill hole into plug then run wires from bed side into hole

      That works too. Its just easy for me to work if its out.

    Hey man - Nice channel. I'm doing this exact mod on my JT. I did cut away the bed liner too...I know it opens up a small gap where water can get behind, but I run a Diamondback HD cover so I'm not too worried about it. One thing though that happened to mine...I was prying the cover off after cutting through the liner and the rubberized bedliner actually separated from the plastic square. I just put it back on and assembled the same way. It brought it all close together again after the screws and the back nut were added. I may (not sure yet) hit that gap with a little black waterproof caulk. We'll see. Nice channel man...check out mine as well.

    Not that it matters, but the back plate is upside down. The cutout is for the cover to hinge, but otherwise good install

    Thanks for posting this. 800$ cnd for for tazer and oem stuff, or 26$ on Amazon for this setup! I'd be hooked up direct to battery. Q- DOES THIS STYLE PLUG HAVE SOME DRAW, EVEN WHEN NOT IN USE? I KNOW IF I LEAVE SOMETHING PLUGGED IN I MIGHT KILL BATTERY IF TRUCK OFF BUT ANY RISK IF NOT IN USE?

    Thanks for a great video. Do you think it's possible to install the plug without removing the square plastic panel on the bed wall? Just figured it's water tight and by cutting it, it no longer is. I know it would be a hassle, but could be worth it. I'll probably be using a piggy back fuse holder for mine. I plan on installing an aux switchpanel sometime in the future but for now that would do it.

      I think its doable. I was just doing it as easy as possible. Haha

    the fuse wont protect the controller unless your running power back from the plug. The fuse only protects down current...

    We just finished installing everything, so far so good! Did you add any heat shielding to the wires that you ran up to the engine?

    • @abbyrayvlogz
      @abbyrayvlogz  2 роки тому

      Yes we have this plastic covers but I do not think they are heat treated.

    Why did you order two sockets instead of one?

    • @abbyrayvlogz
      @abbyrayvlogz  2 роки тому

      Cascadia 4x4. it comes with its own controller.

    So with this set up the 12V is always powered right? I want to do the exact same install for my Gladiator. I want to have a fridge and a Ecoflow back there.

    • @abbyrayvlogz
      @abbyrayvlogz  2 роки тому +2

      Yes its always powered but it does not drain the battery because it is hooked up to my solar management system.
