Why is everyone on here crying about the bed size like its an F-150 or something? The Gladiator is set to compete with the Toyota Tacoma(and similar), which has a 5ft bed in the crew cab configuration. You don't hear people crying about the bed size on that rig. This thing isn't for hauling gravel or 30ft ladders...its a sport truck and its going to sell like CRAZY. Lots of Tacoma owners would love to get Rubicon like off-road ability from the factory and now they can. I will wait until CPO rigs are available in the next year or so...but I am getting one asap. My JKU is great but this is exactly what myself and thousands of Jeep owners have been waiting for. The best part is, all of the new model issues are being squared away on the JL, so this truck should be relatively trouble free.
I'd love to see a 2-door diesel option too but with a 5ft bed it will do fine for a camper. Taco's have been doing it for years. Its not a camper you see on a F-350

Yep single cab 6 to 8 foot bed and less stupid accessories standard and I would be in the market as it sits now its a fleep markted to the weekend warrior types and not a serrious work truck

I always wanted a Hummer but it felt like it was just to much and a little overbearing, but I always believed that if a middle ground could be found with a Jeep pick up truck demonstrating that same rugged military styling it would be a perfect fit for me, and though I was hopeful I didn’t really expect Jeep to meet up with that combined style. Boy was I wrong, they met my hopes with great detail.
I’ve had a hummer h2 and h3. Although the 3 is like driving a couch, it pales in off road compared to a jeep. The h2 , even though I put 3” lift and 35’s, still didn’t do as well as any jeep I’ve had or have now. Plus the h2 has way too many blind spots for anything serious without a spotter. I’m on #17 for jeeps. Have a 2010 4 door jku with 4” an 35’s. Absolutely my favorite. I’m sure I’ll grab the Gladiator in 5 years, once they get traded in. Let those hummer feelings melt away......zen......Jeeeeep.....

I would love to see a single cab version with the same short bed, and overall shorter wheelbase. Not all of us are sold on the new long wheelbase Jeeps. A single cab long bed version seems to be a popular request as well. As it stands, I'm not convinced we'll be seeing a lot of these on the road/trail.
I wish there was a regular cab option. I’m not a fan of the 4 doors. I know it’s more space but I’d rather have the regular cab. And and the old online 6 was one of the best engines. Also the option for it to be standard would be cool.

Yep Home store weekender is about right. Especially at 17.5 bed depth using this for work and adding a low profile tool box makes that bed stupid small.

Quesion!!! The mopar after market part such as the accessories storage for the bed will take the space; and can hold 1600 pounds on top of the cover. So can a motorcycle or a ATV can be place on top? @Quadratec
If you're talking about the hardtop and door hardware, there is a spot behind the rear seat when you fold down the driver side to store them when you take the doors off and the hard top off.
So if the full size pick up cost is 40,000 to 60,000 why are all the midsize pick ups 35,000 to 50,000 ? Shouldn’t they be 20,000 to 35,000 seeing they are 5/10s to 8/10s the size ?
How will the hard top come out given that there is a bed in the back. Will you be able to slide the hardtop to the rear until you can pick it up and put it down.

I live and die by my 95 xj. Jeep nowadays is sorority girl, frat boy specific. I don't know how many of these overweight Fiats I've pulled out of puddles, but it's getting ridiculous. The engine barley moves that big body, let alone pushes it through mud. It's kinda funny. My 4,000 dollar xj puts these 50,000 dollar grocery getters to shame!!!!! But you can get some ply wood back there all day. The future of Jeep is looking grim. They ride the fame and power of 20+ yo models that were made by AMC. These Fiats are not even close to the preformance of the AMC Jeep. Maybe on paper, but on the trails they fail on the easiest spots. While all the real jeepers stand by and wait, then have to go get a real Jeep to pull you guys out.

@@GuitarSolosInc. I have a 4x4 89 2 Door XJ Pioneer. They rock, it has a completely rebuilt i6 4.0L motor and 3.5 inch suspension, 33 inch procomp tires and Fox 2.0 shocks. Anyone thinking of wasting money on the Gladiator might have to look at an old Jeep Comanche from the Cherokee era. I really think this Pentastar V6 though is weak as hell to be pushing a 4,650 lb car versus the 3200 lb Cherokee being pushed by the venerable 4.0L I6 that churns out 200 hp 280lb ft torque instead of the weak torque numbers we're seeing from the Pentastar compared to it's curb weight. I may end up getting a 4.7L stroker engine with 270HP 320lb ft of torque for my Cherokee someday but I'm just as happy keeping it stock

Bed payload is the maximum amount of weight the bed is rated to handle gvw is what you are talking about and is total weight the vehicle can carry following DOT guidelines.

this is still a conventional SUV and occasional truck for those who need a truck box in rare occasions. its comparable to the explorer sport track. i actually like it. and also understand others comments. its pretty simple, if you don't like it. just don't buy it...
Shallow bed. Can't even accomodate my yeti with a tonneau. From my experience roadtripping coast to coast, people will steal anything they can. So a locking tonneau is a must for that, especially since there is ZERO cargo room inside. Great vehicle but for my needs, I'm sticking with a JLU SUV. You'd need either a off road trailer to tow or short cargo tubs and coolers if you need a tonneau and secure cargo space.

A 2-door with a longer bed would definitely be a welcomed option. Can’t imagine me putting a camper on a 5 ft. Bed; I’m 6’4” and my wife is 5’4”.

this is still a conventional SUV and occasional truck for those who need a truck box in rare occasions. its comparable to the explorer sport track. i actually like it. and also understand others comments. its pretty simple, if you don't like it. just don't buy it...

what are the indents on the wheel wells for?
Shallow bed. Can't even accomodate my yeti with a tonneau. From my experience roadtripping coast to coast, people will steal anything they can. So a locking tonneau is a must for that, especially since there is ZERO cargo room inside. Great vehicle but for my needs, I'm sticking with a JLU SUV. You'd need either a off road trailer to tow or short cargo tubs and coolers if you need a tonneau and secure cargo space.
