By the way, “Back in Black” was the album following the death of Bon Scott, the previous singer. ACDC were on hiatus for a while and didn’t know whether to continue being a band. They came to the conclusion that Bon would want them to continue. With the highest respect, the band wanted to show they were “back” but in “black” mourning Bon. Hence the “Back in Black” album.

For REAL. I will be 57 this year. Used to rock out to this album in my 8 track player getting ready to go out and party! Couldn’t hear for a week after their For Those About To Rock tour in 1982 when they fired canons during the concert.

I'm 54 years old and this was my first concert. By the end of the show, everyone was high as hell and our heads hurt from banging to the music. I'll never forget it. You have to react to Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. My second concert. They're so bad ass!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Thank goodness Circus magazine used to print lyrics to certain songs (this was one) otherwise it would have taken me forever to figure it out. No help from the internet back in the early 80's and the album had no lyric sheet..

The story goes Bon saw Brian singing in Adelaide I believe, and told the band, if he ever dies, this is the guy to replace me!! Not long after, he did die, alcohol poisoning I believe, and in came Brian!!
If he havent died it would be just be called "we're back" but to respect for bon is on black

You're right about that and I believe it but there is also stories about him (true or not) that he was constantly in trouble at school and would be in detention then would have to rush home in his school uniform to rehearse with the band.

First time I saw ACDC on the Midnight Special. I was a teenager, Bon Scott was singing Can I set next to you girl?, I was hooked. I am almost 60 and I love them still today as much and maybe even more.

My high school was a football power back when I was there in the 80's. Our home uniforms were solid black with gold trim......so at home games when the team came down the hill from the field house they played "Back in Black" to fire up the crowd and try to intimidate our opponents. This song, the main song on the album, is the band declaring that they wouldn't give in to the tragedy of the loss of Scott.

Although the bass line isn't complicated, I don't know if anybody could play it perfectly because he's not doing the "normal" note progression for a song like this. I think the bass line is epic myself as a bass player that's been playing for the past 37 years. I believe this song is a tribute to Bon Scott and this album came out in 1980. Angus would run home from school to practice, never had time to change and then just used it to be unique. THIS is the album that made me a rockaholic. 11 years old and it hit me a ton of bricks.
