@@SDisonYT Yes, they're "one of the only" kind of people who annoy me as well. I am 70 and I loved this. Watching young people watch Queen for the first time brought back all the excitement of younger life. And loved your analysis of the song - the words and the music.
My son said , “Mom I just found this band called Queen, you’ll just love them!!! To which I replied , “Your Dad & I listened to them when we were dating in high school” lol
When my daughter was 10, this song hit the charts again after having been in the movie Waynes World. We were in the car and it started playing on the radio and I sang along word for word. Afterwards my daughter looked at me in amazement and asked how I learned all the word of a song that just was released. Ha, I told it was not new, that this was from my teens - she was shocked. LOL
You can't interrupt the song like this this is the type of song that has to be listened to as a whole, this is a masterpiece he was a genius and every genre of music has acknowledged this song from 1975.

I was thinking more about when he said this song makes me think about being in heaven moment before he starts talking about killing a man and basically being in a living hell
Freddie Mercury, vocals, Brian May, guitars, John Deacon, bass and Roger Taylor on drums created the sounds of the 70's and 80's. I love it when kids of today appreciate the complexities of older songs, and the way you two kids' eyes popped out shows there's hope for the future. Best reaction video I've seen to date!!
That's so true, and yet the new generations coming to this world have yet to discover rock music of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, etc... It's all new to them. Boy do I now feel old.
“Is this opera?” Bro you hit the nail right on the head! That was the whole idea behind this song! The album it was on was called “A night at the Opera”
5:12 -- I can see it.. How much the lyrics hit home with you my dude.. You feel it in your heart and I absolutely love you for that... Freddie would be so proud how his words hit home...
Im 60 years old and I absolutely love it when a young person hears this rock opera for the first time. Probably one of the best songs of all time. Your reactions say it all.
Same It brings me back to my youth when I first heard this track and was just as blown away 😂 I can still remember where I was when I first heard this many many years ago !
Glenn Danzig of the Misfits, Samhain, and now Danzig is number one, Ronnie James Dio, of Rainbow, Dio, and Black Sabbath, who invented the metal hand sign, are beyond Freddie. Listen to Dirty Black Summer by Danzig and Rainbow In The Dark by Dio.
Listen to Queen 2, the second half (the BLACK side). Every song on that side makes Bohemian Rhapsody sound like a cakewalk! They did the choir thing on their first 3 albums and seems the general public has no idea.
He was a beautiful person, with a truly God given talent. He spent the days leading up to his death writing and recording music for his band mates... Who didn't replace Freddy, but added Adam Lambert to pay tribute to Mercury in 2017.
Much appreciation to you two … I fear that one day the classics such as Bohemian Rhapsody will be forgotten. By you doing this reaction video it keeps Queen and so many classics known by this generation. And the music that existed from pure talent and vocals … not produced on a sound board or computer.. Such an amazing group … and Freddie 😊 … we miss ya, man! Keep pushing others to be curious about music way before their day … there’s some incredible stuff out there!!! Thanks guys♥️
And they are acting like they've never heard it... lol youtube reacts, man.... they freak out like its their first time seeing moving images.... its like they came from the 19th century, the world is so foreign to them
Freddie is damn amazing, can never be replaced. I think the only singer that has some semblance of familiarity to his voice is Brendon Urie from Panic and the disco but then again that's just my opinion.
The song's been around for 45 years and still going strong. Band members are: Freddie Mercury - Vocals, piano, guitar - songwriter. Passed away '91 Roger Taylor - Vocals, drums, guitar - songwriter John Deacon - Bass, Multi instrumentalist - songwriter Brian May - Vocals, guitar, multi instrumentalist - songwriter. Doctor of Astrophysics. Queen are an incredibly diverse band. If you continue on this journey, you'll find yourselves going from rock to soul, from jazz & blues to pastiche vaudeville, prog rock and anthems, nothing is left uncovered and it's all original material written by members of the band.
Honestly (not being defensive), just curious why you would say “multi-instrumentalist” for Brian and John, and not Roger, who plays more instruments than any of them? Curious distinction.

Freddie Mercury's voice was perfect. They actually did a scientific study on his voice and his voice fell into the perfect range for just about EVERYONE...which is why just about everyone LOVES Queen. RIP, Freddie. I'm glad that I got to see you in concert in 1981!
Queen, at this stage of their career, were one of the heaviest rock bands in Great Britain, but also at times the most harmonious with lovely melodies combined with some of the loudest, heaviest rock music one can imagine. Absolutely fantastic !

The one guy they met with about this song said he "wouldn't do opera cause it wouldn't sell". Queen left his office and found another label. Radio stations wouldn't play it back then cause the FCC had a time limit on radio songs of 3 min.

No one with a voice like Freddie Mercury. One of the best groups that I had the pleasure to see in the mid 70’s. I’m a 74yr old Black woman who had a friend who took me to see Queen as a Christmas gift.
Freddy Mercury was the greatest male voice in rock. Queen's set at Live Aid is considered the greatest live rock performance ever. "For 20 minutes another Queen ruled England". And the world.
@Ronald McReynolds Bro what are you Smoking ,many consider him the best male vocalist of all time ,he is known as the greatest frontman of all time ,and wrote one of the greatest if not the greatest song of all time
And I had a chance to see them in 1982, and passed in order to study for a physics test. Figured I’d catch them on the next tour, which never occurred😭
“Unfortunately,” TIME opined, “Queen’s lyrics are not the stuff of sonnets.” The New York Times, reviewing a 1978 appearance at Madison Square Garden came down equally hard: “Lyrically, Queen’s songs manage to be pretentious and irrelevant. Musically, for all the virtuosity-though it was cheating a bit to turn over the complex middle portion of their ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ to a taped version, with empty stage and flashing lights-the songs still sound mostly pretty empty, all flash and calculation.”
@@williamhernandez167 it is fairly obvious if you dig into the lyrics. The man Freddie "kills" is the straight image that was considered necessary to successfully navigate the world then. There was great worry (just like Elton John had) that coming out would destroy his career.
You Kwon the scene from Wayne's World where they're all head banging ? I'm doing it EVERY morning while I take my almost 5 yo to kindergarten. She asks for it, she's been asking for it for over a year now. Freddie will live forever❤️
Also, the guitar he's playing is a diy-build... he built it as a teenager with his father out of an old tabletop and the mantlepiece of a fireplace, because at the time they couldn't afford a guitar....
I just had a realization...... that I fall in love with bands that like to experiment with different genres and sounds.. ummm no wonder I'm in love with BTS right now for the modern music era.. I miss Queen. :(
@@fedezzefelbudapestet6493 LOVE Jim Morrison! The Doors had their own sound that was unbelievably unique and amazing but what I meant about Queen is that they have songs that are so different from one another you can't possibly label them into a genre. It was just so much variety from one band!
@@courtneymcclure2837 Definitely, they had a wide variety of sounds, truly amazing,at the same song, they go from classic to rock, that transition is fantastic, not many bands can experiment with numerous sounds and still keep their identity, and be successful, truly amazing
To me one of the most amazing things about Queen is that Brian May has a PHD in Astrophysics and he designed the guitar sound effects pedal that made his solos so unique.
If this blew you guys away, you need to see their live performance from Live Aid. They absolutely brought down the house...no band will ever top that live performance! Freddie Mercury has no equal & I feel blessed to have grown up in the era where I could witness this man's genius in action. RIP Freddie....we miss you.😢
The story has been told that Elton John was waiting off-stage for his turn to go on, and when Queen finished and left the stage, he said to them, "You bastards! What are the rest of us supposed to do now?"
I was at Live Aid at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. Live Aid was held in Philly and Wembley Stadium in London (where Queen performed) . Elton John played in Wembley and then took the SST (Super Sonic Transport, a now defunct airplane that could fly from England to America in half the time of other planes) to Philadelphia where he played live for us. We got to watch the London performances, including Queen's, on the Sony Jumbotrons in the stadium in Philly. Best concert EVER! Coming up on the 40th anniversary in 2025 and I still remember it like it was yesterday
I'm 60 years old, I saw this group and this song live in 1978 at the Montreal forum. and I remember it like it was yesterday because it was so great. One of the best progressive rock band !
You can tell they've actually heard it before, at 3:40 he, and at 6:50 she, mouthing along to lyrics..how would they know the. next lyrics if never heard before?
It's a rock opera. The story of a murder, trial and the aftermath. Hence the different infusions of music. It was iconic at it's time and has never been repeated!
The song was not about a murder. It was about how life would have been if he could have lived as a gay person his entire life. At least according to Freddie Mercury. 'Bohemian Rhapsody' WAS Freddie's confessional. It was about how different his life could have been, and how much happier he might have been, had he just been able to be himself, the whole of his life.
When he says he killed a man...i thought he means him because he got Aids and knew his death was imminent. Missing out if not listening with headphones. Remember this was the 70's when hallucinogenic drugs were the thing. Someone loved him and left him to die. ( Aids) One of the best songs ever!!
This song is almost 50 years old, this is not a song this is ART spread by a genius one of the greatest most talented singer, performer ever. Even in extreme pain, could barely walk or stand he carried on right to the end to be THE BEST ever. Gone too soon but what a legacy he left. Love you for ever R.I P Freddie

I did not know that ..good shit
"One of the only"?? What does that mean? "The only" or "one of the few"
How can anything be "one" of the "only" . This phrase drives me nuts.
It's one of few, but certainly not the only, lol.

LOL
I am thankful that I grew up in 60s and 70s--we had THE BEST music!

Freddie Mercury - Vocals, piano, guitar - songwriter. Passed away '91
Roger Taylor - Vocals, drums, guitar - songwriter
John Deacon - Bass, Multi instrumentalist - songwriter
Brian May - Vocals, guitar, multi instrumentalist - songwriter.

When it came out, the Times called Bohemian Rhapsody a “sheer bloody masterpiece”.
