@Laser I don't know if I'd say that, more like the good stuff mostly went underground in the 2000s because everything radio-friendly became so formulaic and predictable because the music industry started caring more about appealing to the lowest common denominator instead of simply supporting great music.

It’s not about “conversion” to a particular genre. it’s just the appreciation of all genres. You are learning that all genres lend to each other. You don’t have to like it all but appreciate the fact the these people, group, etc. put themselves out there. Just as you are in your reactions. Enjoy the ride! The best is yet to come!

It's true, that many, many artists from a wide range of genres can and do appreciate other artists and even pick up some small things from those other genres and add and mix them into their own music. Cross pollination, in a way. Run-DMC and Aerosmith, Willie Nelson and Ray Charles, NIN and Johnny Cash. The list goes on and on.....

This is the first song with Brian Johnson as lead singer after the death of Bon Scott from alcoholism. After not knowing if the band would continue after Bon's death they found Brian and this song was their comeback anthem, they were "back in black" because they were mourning Bon's death and also announcing they were back on stage again.

According to Angus, Bon Scott chose Brian himself as a replacement! Brian was playing with his band Geordi ( I think that’s how you spell it...) and Bon said “ That guy would be who I would want to replace me.” At least according to what Angus wrote in some album liners in that reissue of Back in Black back in the earlier 2000s.

@@johnbutler5650 I don’t remember Angus saying that anecdote, it’s a popular one people talk about but I don’t know if it’s been confirmed by the band. The one that I know is true for sure is the one where Bon saw Brian and Geordie at a show and thought he did a good job and towards the end of his life, he told the guys that he remembered when he was with Fraternity, he saw this guy in England performing and Bon praised him for his voice. The guys remembered that because Bon never praised anyone like that so they figured that he couldn’t be too bad if Bon was himself a fan. Later on, Mutt Lange said that he got a letter from some guy in Cleveland recommending the same Englishman and so the band took the hint and tracked down Brian.
      Rest is history
