The story behind the shorts: The lead guitar player (Angus Young) wearing the shorts (technically a school uniform) is the younger brother of the rhythm guitar player Malcom Young. When Malcom started the band, Angus was in junior high school and wore a similar uniform to school. The band practiced in the afternoons when Angus got out of school. Angus was so anxious to get to practice that he literally ran home and started practicing without changing his clothes, so he was always playing in his school uniform. If you really want to see what a world wide sensation this group is, please check out any songs/video clips from their "Live at River Plate" concert that was held in Argentina back in 2009. Most of the concert is available to watch on UA-cam. I bought that DVD for my husband's last birthday as he has been a fan of AC/DC since he was young kid back in the 1970's. He claims that it is one of the best concert films he has ever seen. You can literally feel the energy from the audience of over 60,000 people in the stadium through your TV or monitor screen - simply mind blowing! It was a 3 day event & each night was sold out. The final count was over 180,000 people in attendance! My favorite songs from that concert are Hells Bells, Whole Lotta Rosie, Thunderstruck, Highway to Hell, and no one can ever forget - The Jack! You won't be disappointed with any of those suggestions. Happy New Year! :-)
Absolutely his singing style in this song is rap-ish. He did/does that a lot, as did Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. Others too, even if we don't outwardly identify it as a rap style. Truth is, that style has been around a long time. I could point out a number of songs from singers and bands you wouldn't expect. One is the song No One Came by Deep Purple from their 1971 album, Fireball. In fact, I suggest you head into classic Deep Purple era for some excellent reaction videos to masters of their craft. Brian Johnson's singing is really syncopated around the music, which makes it sound like a rap-rock crossover song. It might have been the first rap-rock crossover, before that was a thing, and without even trying to be.
Although, he stopped using it on stage soon after, opting for his heavily modified Jet. Just a note for the uninitiated, the White Falcon in this video isn't THAT big, it's just that Malcolm was tiny!

Do check out No One Came!
I have to hand it to you, think you have the best and most sincere reactions to ACDC. Out everyone I’ve seen so far. AC FUCKING DC! Peace, Phil
Angus and his schoolboy uniform. That is his signature look.
If you want Blood (you got it) - AC/DC [original video]
This song and zz top's ' nasty dogs and funky kings' were my 2 favourite kick ass tunes of the 80's
That hook at the song beginning was actually worked up during the Highway to Hell tour in 1979. But the lyrics are all Brian Johnson
“Let There Be Rock!!” You gotta rock Bon Scott!! Hes badass!
you should hear Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart "I'd Rather Go Blind" live in Amsterdam, Stevie Ray Vaughn "Couldn't stand the weather" and Yngwie Malmsteen "Black Star" live at the Budokan
Thunderstruck...........
YOU put your back into it!!!!!!!!!!!! You get so into the music, you look like you're getting banged the whole song..=P...LOVE IT!...MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!! =P
Angus young the one your talking about is wearing a school uniform he is known as the bad schoolboy btw wb hun
Angus and Malcolm's sister came up with Angus' signature outfit, schoolboy uniform for grade school.....bad boy !
They modeled the energizer bunny after ANGUS!
Scribe.. this is the continuation of real rock n roll" Loud, Dangerous, Rebellious! Enjoy it!!!
Such a great song. I'm happy you enjoyed it too!
Brian Johnson's singing is really syncopated around the music, which makes it sound like a rap-rock crossover song. It might have been the first rap-rock crossover, before that was a thing, and without even trying to be.
Welcome to AC DC baby! They are THE rock n roll band! You should try Thunderstruck next!
I'm an elderly millennial(Xennial), born in 1984 on the cusp, and I know AC/DC.
Beautiful young lady,.. YOU ROCK !!!! HELL YEAH !!!
That guitar is a Gretsch White Falcon
CeeBee And that vintage is likely to be a fortune. I can’t wait to say a ‘59 White Falcon is the crown jewel of my collection!
Although, he stopped using it on stage soon after, opting for his heavily modified Jet. Just a note for the uninitiated, the White Falcon in this video isn't THAT big, it's just that Malcolm was tiny!
@@continentalaquatics2725 I would love a vintage White Falcon - just such a cool sounding guitar. I'm glad to say I KNOW what the jewel of my collection will be one day - my father has a '59 Les Paul that will one day be mine and it is just an absolute honour to hold one let alone play it!
CP88 Nice! Is it a burst?
It's a pretty big guitar anyway, played by a legend of just 5'3"!
You're so on point here. I saw one other reactor have the same comparison with this song.. sounds like he's rapping - just before rapping his the mainstream. I agree. The lyrics particularly feel that way. I also LOVE that you reference Chuck Berry because I've seen people middle aged not even pick up on that and I think - how do they not know this?? Great reaction!!!!!!
So he always wore the school boy shorts outfit. If you’ve seen the movie, The School of Rock, at the end, Jack Black has on the short school boy outfit on stage with the school kids. 😎
You are one cool lady and I love listening to you talk about your music and your musical journey. The excitement you bring to the music you are discovering. This was my First concert when back in black came out. As Mr. Rogers says I like you just the way you are. So sweet Scribe Peace out!!!!
Malclom Youngs 59 Gretch White Falcon he only used that guitar on the back in black tour and then he used it agian in 2010 on the black ice tour best rythem guitarist ever R.I.P Malcolm
Yep, the phrasing is hip-hoppish af. I've always said, this is one of the top FUNK bands ever
