  • Take a page from Jack Nicklaus' playbook and learn to hover your clubhead at address. This simple technique releases tension in the body, keeping you loose and in the present moment.

I’m working on this. It’s difficult, but my fat shots are fewer and misses are now on the thin side and more playable. I also found it is rounding out my swing and is eliminating the feeling of a steep downswing. Thanks!

I am a low hp player and I have always hoovered my clubs , even my putter on the long putts. If you do it then you do not have tension on your arms, the speed of the back swing is always the same one and the grip is more relaxed. This coach is one of the few that has ever mentioned something about hoovering the clubs, very good !

Hi, these is great instruction. Are you going to make more video on full swing from set up to impact? I hope you recover from your injury

You're welcome Ty and thank you for sharing your feelings. Hovering the club will take your game to the next level. Your backswing will start to feel a hot knife through butter. RJ

I was really taking some deep divots and hitting more fatties than I should, until I began Hovering. Thanks for reminding me of this great Nicklaus tip. It does make a difference to strike.

Thanks, Charles. Glad this could serve as a good reminder for you. Btw, in addition to better ball striking, remember this also will reduce tension in the arms and hands for a more consistent and repeatable takeaway. Best, RJ

As a a newbie to the game this piece of advice is invaluable as I often struggle with this issue where my hybrid actually catches on take away, this and the video for set up distance will really help me keep up the good work with these great videos
