    Took this to the course and some sound results. A couple of fats but only with the 7 and 8 irons. I think I was trying the technique from too far from the green?

    • @rjgolf
      @rjgolf  Рік тому +1

      Hey Bob... not sure how far out you were, but some key points to watch out for are 1) ball position (maybe too far forward if hitting if fat); and 2) make sure your body position is not too far away from the ball. Also, the Chipping techniques in this video are meant for when you are just right outside the green. If you are further away, such as 30 yards or more, that's more of a Pitch to me and, good news... we are posting our first two Pitching videos today! Best, RJ

    Hmm. That is not the common way to do overlap grip. Normally you place pinky over. Not under of the glove hand index finger

    • @rjgolf
      @rjgolf  Рік тому +1

      Thanks, @Jatama for the feedback. You are correct. I'm demonstrating the "reverse overlap" grip and forgot to say the word "reverse" in the video! However, if you use the traditional overlap grip in your full swing, I would recommend trying the reverse overlap in and around the greens for better feel-and-control. The traditional wisdom for the reverse overlap for short game shots is so the dominance of the left (strong) hand is reduced somewhat resulting in better finesse-and-feel. I'm left-handed, playing right-handed and have found this to be invaluable around the greens and with my short game in general. If you get a chance to try this out, I'd love to hear your feedback; good, bad or ugly!
      Cheers, RJ

      Thank you, John. This comment means a lot to me. I'm a Certified Adaptive Golf Instructor by the SMGA specifically for helping wounded veterans with their game. I'm certainly honored to be able to help you with your own work and activities with veterans. I'd love to hear back from you on how the tournament went. Of course, I appreciate the kind words for my videos, too. Stay tuned because we have a lot more content coming soon including some specifically designed for players with physical injuries. Best, RJ

Keep up the great work and content boss!!

      @@rjgolf i'm 74 yrs, old, 13hdcp, and been golfing for 40+ years but i can't seem to get the cap lower than that even though i put a lot into my game through practice and playing. i live in massachusetts so our season is shorter than some places but i practice year round.

      @@rjgolf i went out and did some chipping in my back yard and got instant good results with your method. i had been lining up too square and too wide and would tend to fall back on my right foot. this really helped, thnx.

      Love to hear it, Steve. And, to the point of our "Fastest Way To Break 100" video (even though you are already below), you are the right track to lower that handicap even further by improving your Chipping technique.
      Here's that video, if you haven't seen it already: ua-cam.com/video/-zpEYwL5hvA/v-deo.html
