*** Wrong yeast in recipe although London Ale III is the best NEIPA yeast, I used Verdant for this IPA. Cheers!

Great Video Gash. Been brewing for two years now, always love watching your vids they are solid.
Made this one. Ended up 6.3% absolutely delish, used rain water and set water profile on Beersmith.
Dry hopped 45ltrs with 150 simcoe cyro and 200 citra.
Thanks for video, most excellent
This is my kind of beer! Thanks for sharing Gash, can't wait to give it a go. Love your work
Cheers and thanks mate!
That ale looks stupendous in the glass!
Nice work Gash, sound delicious! Also, those extra hard cold crashes have made all the difference to my hazy's, thanks again for the advice! Cheers!
Thanks and Cheers Schikitar!
Loved this one, and super useful too. Cheers 🍻
Looks BLOODY DELICIOUS Gash.I think i might do a Citra and Galaxy version.Cheers!
Cool vid Gash. Another awesome grain to glass. Cheers brother 🍻🤘
Thanks Parko!
That zip tie trick is genius! Looks like a great brew, cheers!
Cheers mate!
Looks like another winner. I’ve liked using NaCl to help drive up the Cl but still keep the Ca under 100. 40ppm of Na does not come off as salty.
WOW WEEEeee wish I had looked sooner haha just checked out the links below what a legend I've pretty much tracked everything down myself now but yeah awesome work mate your a top Bloke aye
💪😜🤙
You poor bastard, hope you got out before lockdown. You are blessed with that cool cool Melbourne tap water though, I finished off a brew today with the counterflow here in mid north NSW and the coolest I could get to was 32. Plenty of Voss on hand though, no harm done. Cheers buddy, all the best 🍻
We got out! Thanks mate
Looks like a bloody beauty Gash 🔥 👍🏼🍺🍻
Cheers mate!
Another great recipe. I’ve got a keg of the 3 oat with all Citra so I might try Azacca and Sabro for this one. Hope you all got across the border safe and sound.
ohhh I have some azacca and sabro in the freezer awaiting a recipe as well this looks delicious!
I brewed a neipa once and it was oxidized. Went into the bottle a beautiful color. Not so much on the way out of the bottle.. Afraid to try another with my brewing setup but this looks damn tasty. Cheers!
Yeah hard with bottling, especially glass bottles, consider PET bottles and squeezing air out, still not perfect. Never bulk prime them either. Cheers!
Great vid Gash. Where did you get the flow restrictor thing on the output of your chiller?
Hey gash great work as always!! If I want to make up a half batch of this brew is it as simple as just halving all ingredients including the water or is there more to it to maintain he same flavour?
Just brewed this one, waiting patiently. One thing I do to monitor activity is just run a bit of line from the spunding valve into a jar of starsan and watch the bubble activity. Let's me know when it's right at the end of fermentation to add the last dry hop without taking a sample or using a tilt.
Well done. Stay safe
Cheers and thanks Curt! You too mate!
nice shirt👍🏼
Hi love the AC DC T shirt 👍🇬🇧
I think you will get better results if you dissolve the yeast in water first.
I use two packages and I always hydrate.
Looks bloody magnificent Gash!! Few of those on the trip to NSW would take the edge off nicely!! Quick question off topic as I know you use US05 quite often, do you find the need to adjust the attenuation % in Brewfather or do you leave it at the 81%? I’m finding I’m getting more like 84-85% fermenting at 19c at 7psi. Might also need to double check mash temps as my FG of late are lower than I’d hope. Anyway, thanks for the great work and look forward to the next vid!!
Nice one gash! Will have to brew this soon. Can you explain a bit about the SO:CL ratio? I thought you would want higher SO for a hoppy beer.
Its opposite with NEIPA and most Hazy beers, you go massively in the direction of Malty water profile, even more than stouts etc, just so you can throw massive amounts of hops at it but reduce the perceived bitterness. Cheers!
my tilt sleep during the krausen with verdant too :D
Looks the goods Gash 🍻
It’s bloody tasty mate! Cheers!
Hey mate, did you start with RO water as that seems like some pretty intense water additions?
Hey mate love the look of this. So basically needs to be treated like a NEIPA? closed transfer etc?
Hi Gash. Does that digital refractometer measure in brix or SG?
Another awesome video mate, that looks the goods. With these big dry hop recipes, how many litres do you generally get in the keg without picking up trub etc?
I always get my 18-18.5L to fill a 19L keg, and if I feel the need I can usually bottle one or two if needed but to be honest I just fill a keg that’s enough for me. So one full keg easily, the conical shape of fermenters helps with this too. Cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork thanks mate, I've been only been filling up to about 17 litres as I've found im getting a bit of hops/trub if i go any further, and I'll bottle a few as well as it drops out nicely in a pet bottle. I might try also cold crashing an extra few days see if that helps too. 🤘
I’ve found the verdant yeast has a stall at day 2-3. I usually start ferment at 20c then day 2 bump to 22c and it cruises though fermentation, done in 5 days
This was done in 5 days, was just junk on the tilt, cheers!
Damn this video is inspiring, BIAB coming my way soon.....
Question, what mill are you using?
i use a Malt Muncher 3 roller and a Maltzilla. bit.ly/MillsAll Cheers!
Looks like a class beer. What pressure did you use at the start? I thought it's better to use no pressure for verdant yeast initially. Cheers
Nah few psi won't hurt anything, cheers!
Great video! Cheers from the states, where our whirlpool arms go counter clockwise 🤣!
Love that Verdant, still drinking my first hazy with it, and can’t imagine using anything else for my IPAs for a while at least! 😁🍻
Yep goes alright doesn’t it. Cheers mate! :)
Your NEIPA'S are awesome. I'll be brewing this for sure. So you ever go all golden promise base malts in your brews?
I don't, but I would, its just I buy grain by the 25kg bag and Gladfield is great quality as good as any other I've bought and cheap. It might not be as tasty as one with golden promise, but its one of those things these days buying in bulk I just get what's reliable, cheap and quality, but I cant have 3 or 4 bags hanging around, I don't have the space or time to use them all.. 99% of my beer gets drank by me.. Especially the last year.. Cheers mate!
Thanks mate. I get 25kg Simpsons golden promise and I love it. I see a lot of brewers use Gladfields Marris otter and thought I was missing out. Think I'll stick with G.P. now. Thanks again. NEIPA ON!!!
@@shanethoroughgood yeah try it for sure, i don't think you'll be disappointed
Is the full recipe available online somewhere?
Yes there’s a link in the description of the video, Cheers mate!
That's a sweet refractometer! What did it cost?
This is it here , there are more expensive ones that list the gravity as “1.000” Cheers! Digital Refractometer - Refractometer - amzn.to/2Rx9a8f
What was your Mash out temp? 75?
76 usually cheers!
Do you think it would be ok to use a steeping basket for the hops or is it better to just throw them straight into the wort?
Same question for dry hopping
I would rather use a large grain bag, but if you have a good basket that gets some flow through it it will be ok. Dry hopping in bags is hard at these quantities, if you do though give the hops plenty of room and try and make them sink. Cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork cheers man!!🍻
Looks another cracking brew, shame no recipe in brewfarther for the 35ltr zilla
I do have it, just been difficult getting things all right while I’m on the road! Harpoon Hazy IPA - Brewzilla 35L - The Home Brew Network if that link doesn’t work look in the description. Cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork awesome, thanks.been doing mostly your hopstomper and sabrotooth since I got my brewzilla.Done sabrotooth, with 20g/ltr but with your 3 oat neipa hop additions, omg was a few comments I got from friends :)
What pressure do you ferment at?
For these big double dry hops I usually keep it down about 5psi to 10psi max, otherwise you may have some troubles when dry hopping and the krausen rising up and out! Cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork Does releasing the pressure and adding hops defeat the purpose of fermenting under pressure? I've always been a bit worried to do it.
@@ChewyBravo888 no not at all, pressure is back up in a few minutes. The pressure thing isnt what I'm interested in really, just a few psi pressure to keep oxygen out is all I'm interested in. Cheers!
Shouldn't the Cal to Sulfate ration be the other way around with more sulfate for the hops? Also, did you degas your FG reading? The co2 in the beer will throw off the reading.
Sorry not trying to nit pick, just curious.
With NEIPA and most Hazies, they swap the ratio around, like a stout kind of profile, and it's because you use a ton of hops in these and they aren't as aggressive bitter wise as a normal IPA. So they swapped water profile to try and mellow out the huge amount of hops usually used. I did the old school spin of the hydrometer, CO2 for hydro will make a big difference when bubbles form on the hydrometer and float it a bit, the spin gets the bubbles off and quickly take a reading, thats why the hydro was still spinning. Cheers mate!
@HomeBrewNetwork Makes sense for the water but I think for an accurate reading you should degass if pressure fermenting.
@@killswitchh I've compared between my tilts. pills, EasyDens, refracs and SmartRef and there really isnt any difference even worth mentioning. Cheers mate!
@@HomeBrewNetwork appreciate it!
Point Crook? Was that a slip or on purpose? 😊
Also, I thought you were a fair bit North of there, but many years since I've seen you in person so I'm probably wrong.
I usually am, just ask my wife 😁
Nice video as usual. Cheers!
Point Crook was on purpose lol i grew up nsw central coast, been in Melbourne too long.. over it. Cheers!
Under pitched you think? Maybe 2 packets?
On the edge, normally for a video I would use 2 for insurance, but in the end it was done in under a week with a late dry, so quite normal in the end. Cheers!
I've never ever not used the pump during the boil. Not one issue ever. You need to be placing that lid on once you get down around 70c to stop wild yeast strains getting into the wort. DMS stops around 70c. The more you play with the more dough balls you sometimes get...come on now.
all thiat citras ascyou lose the beautyty
