    That's a very impressive colour on the red! And what an awesome way to brew! I get through a lot of beer so have been toying with getting a bigger system but didn't like the idea of having such a large amount of one style, but this idea is flipping genius!

    Great video. Most split-batches I see or hear about involve only yeast, so I can't be sure if I've seen anyone split a batch this way. Cheers!

    Great video. I'm gonna have to learn more about Aussie lager before I visit there again. No idea what VB and the other one is. Thanks man.

    Hey Gash, love your videos - you're an inspiration to us all! Coming into winter I'm going to need some means to heat my fermzilla. Looks like you just use a heat pad on yours? No issues with hot spots on the wort , or warping the PET fermenter? If you could throw a link to Kegland that'd be great. Cheers mate.

    Hardest part about this: what will I do with all the time I'm going to save by eliminating that second brew day. Love the way you think about brewing.

    What was left over in the boil kettle you could strain and save it for a yeast starter.

    Random question for you boss. What gap setting do you typically use when milling your grains for your all-in-one system?

    Hey Gash, where do you get the clamp you put on the hose to slow the wort rate into the fermenter when cooling?

    I've used my brewzilla twice now and used a couple of your recipes. I feel like I follow what you're doing to a T, but I keep ending up with FG's at half of target. Pretty discouraging and I don't know where I'm going wrong. I love the content though and will keep coming back to try again.

      Hi Nathanael, I've had similar problems too. I had to take a close look at my process to get to the bottom of it. One thing to do is to check your grain. I was using some Viking Pale Malt that wasn't giving me great gravity numbers Check your grain to make sure the kernels were cracked fine enough. Check your strike water temperatures to make sure you are not over heating and stifling your grains enzyme potential. Use an iodine test to make sure you are fully converting your mash. Sparge with enough water, remember you can always boil longer to reduce your boil volume to increase your gravity. Make sure your grain bed is set properly and you don't have channeling in your grain bed when sparging. If you are still not hitting your numbers at the end of your boil you can always add some sugar to boost your numbers. Hopethiscellardweller.net/index.php/en/

    do Pride of Ringwood have any flavor when you add them towards the end of the boil? someone told me it is the flavor you taste in Carlton Dry or Great Northern Lager, you know that woody / herbally taste? is this correct or not?

      Ebbegarden Kviek

    • @torgrimsor
      @torgrimsor 2 роки тому

      As Gash says, its a Farmhouse yeast - we in Norway call kveik, that means the same as yeast. I hope Gash has saved some of this Ebbegarden for other projekts. I'll tell U about my last one (the same I recomended to Gash). I did it for the third time, but afrer reasing about hoping during fermention ang what the yeast can transform - and after reading about underpitching, I did a 8% ABV cloudy NEIPA-ish mosaic juice. Its actually a "clone" of Amundsen Brewerys "Apocalyptic Thunder Juice" and it has its name for a reason! he first night, it was lika a fresh pressed orange juice with no alcoholic taste. Boil volume 27 liter. Boil time 90 min. Recipe: 6 kgs pilznermalt, 300 gr flaked otes , 150 gram mixed 4-types flaked (otes, Rye, wheat and barly) and 500 gr. lactose. Hops: 100 gr Mosaic 5 min. 100 gr Mosaic 80 degree 20 min and 100 gr Mosaic in fermenter with the kveik at 33 degrees. This time I did not oxygenate or shked the fermenter - and for the first boubole in airlock took 60 hrs! (normal 2-8 hrs).
      The fermentation process was alot slower than normal. 3-4 days instead of 40-48 hrs. And the underpitch gave results: I have never tasted anything like this - but I've heard you otherd has described how a real NEIPA taste like :) Orange and grapefruite juice the first night - next night over to lemon and grapefruite. It changed a bit every day, and even 2 weeks later I can still taste this special juicy caracter (botteled 10 bottels). This beer was so nice I brewed a new batch last nigth, but this time a split batch with Verdant IPA and Ebbegarden in the other. Can keep u posted if you want to hear the Verdants performance compared to Ebbegarden. Gash: Thanx again for a brilliant cannel! Best Regards Torgrim S - Norway
