How to Draw a Wooden Fence Post (or tree bark)

- Artist Savina Francisco shows you the techniques for creating realistic looking texture on a wooden country-style fence post. This same technique can be used for creating tree bark for certain types of trees, including juniper and oak trees.

Just recently started to draw tree bark following different tutorials. Just wasn't happy trying to "create" the shapes. Came upon your wonderful tutorial- As soon as you said "Find your patterns" OMG there they are!! I see patterns in everything, why didn't I notice before? Because others are not showing it this way!! You explain so well that I am done looking. THANK YOU!!!!
Why are people saying too long? I appreciate her explaining all the steps. Watching how she does it is just as helpful as her explaining what she is doing.
Perfect I like the no time lapse videos people need to realize that sketching realistic takes A LOT of time! be patient people teaching my 3 year old about patience he gets it more than some adults!
I prefer videos without timelapse also, so that I can see a technique really clearly. Unfortunately you're right, though - people want to be able to do or see something in 5 seconds or less, but that's not how a good drawing is made in most cases. Thanks for your comments! 😁

Illy That's kind of you - thank you! To be honest, I never realized we lefties had it any harder than right handers until just recently. I started playing around with drawing using my right hand and realized we lefties sort of have to "draw blind" sometimes! It's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't give attention to your limitations, though! :)

In-spite of drawing this " I shall Plant A TREE " maybe it will grow enough!!!
Make it wooden with the help of the Stodoys instructions.
Great video, but I would suggest that you record youreself while you are drawing and your voice separatly. So you can speed up youre drawing phase and make the hole video more dynamic. And if you make a script, you'll be able to avoid these short pauses between your sentence.
Just a suggestion. You're still a wonderful artist.
