This video offers a different spin on composition for a tree study. Thanks for the inspiration. I plan to go out soon and look for a similar composition, maybe with sycamore trees which I really like because of their interesting and unique bark patterns. Your drawing looks like the live oak trees which are plentiful where I live near Austin Texas. Thank you for another very helpful and inspiring video.

What is the most useful art tool or item that you have used?
They are all useful in their own way. But if I had to pick one it would be a black colored pencil.

I've figured out how to draw trees in detail, so this is very helpful. Love that method of creating leaves by dabbing the willow charcoal. I'm curious...Have you tried a Tombo Mono eraser vs. a pencil eraser? I find pencil erasers are harder on the tooth of the paper.
No, I never have. I'm sure it's better.

I tried having a dark charcoal background in one of my drawings. It turned out to be very uneven ( I used the pencil I don't have powder ) and strokes were visible too.
Any tips on that?
Just create powder from your pencils or sticks.
@@MiroslavSunjkic But can I do it with pencil? I don't have the woodless ones you use :(
@@matrishah7779 just cut them open extract the lead and break it into powder.
