Kind of contradicts himself. When you bend your elbows that much, then you start to really use your upper back/mid Traps. That's more like a Face Pull. If the weight is too heavy and you can't keep your arms straight, lower the weight for better efficiency.

Instead of out to the sides can do straight back with straight arms squeezing the rear delt as you rep works just as good if not better imo.

Rear delts by far the my worst body part to train.
