- One of the most common types of tendon inflammation, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis (also called de Quervain’s tendinosis) is a painful condition where the tendons of the thumb swell. When this happens, you may lose the ability to move your thumb and wrist normally. It can be caused by overuse, repetitive grasping or inflammatory conditions like arthritis.
Activities that require a sideways motion of the wrist while you are gripping with the thumb can aggravate this condition. Hobbies and sports that use this motion include:

DQT is one of the most common types of tendon lining inflammation (swelling). This condition affects women eight to 10 times more often than men.
Symptoms of DQT can include:
⚠️Pain and tenderness along the side of the wrist on the thumb side.
⚠️Pain that gets worse as you use the hand and thumb.
⚠️Pain that travels into the thumb or from the wrist to the lower arm (forearm).
⚠️Pain or difficulty when moving the thumb, especially when grasping or pinching objects.

I think I might have this condition, because sometimes it hurts whenever I grab something. There are days when I don't have pain for months, but then there are days when it hurts like hell. The pain is most noticeable when I'm working.

I found this after being so much pain before like this symptoms since I pregnant 8 months, until now I'm in 8 7 weeks post partum. :'( and still I have wrist pain like this. I hope this can solve my problems. I am waiting for solution for so long. I go to doctor and they didn't examine me, they just its normal, its my hormone 😐 but It stay hurt till now.

I was cuffed soooooooo right around my wrists and the cuff went into my wrists where my nerves get effected. This happens to me
Can an issue with trigger finger cause this? The diagram of the muscle perfectly shows the tendon that is causing me muscle and wrist pain. My tendon feels painful and burning. If I put ANY pressure on it like picking up a cup??, or bend my wrist the pain and burning radiates, even bringing discomfort to my bycept and shoulder with a slight burning and pulled muscle-like sensation.

I think my wrist got messed up from fitbit wearing. The blood flow somehow feels disrupted and it feels like a sharp shock in my wrist.

GEEZ!!! I have somethng like this and so far its been 2.5 months.. Its got a little better but not much. i wear a wrist hand brace at night and another 1 day time.. horribkle CANNOT BELIEVE this has not healed by now..
I was working out back on lateral marching. Instead of making a fist. I had my thumb like I was giving the thumbs up. When I pulled I heard a pop somewhere near thumb or forearm. I can still move my thumb, make a fist. No bruising or swolleness on my forearm or hand. Could I have tore something or sprained/hyperextended my thumb?
If your thumb locks up, you have trigger thumb. I had it on both thumbs caused by hyper extension. No swelling, just painful when it locks up and releases. Surgery fixed it. I could move my thumb instantly with no pain.
Can this condition make you have trigger thumb?

It’s more in my wrist. Imagine going for a hand shake then bending my hand up towards me, that triggers a weird sensation almost like 2 muscles rubbing against each other or something 😢
You’d be strengthening the muscles around your wrist, to support your wrist better, ultimately reducing inflammation and pain. Good luck!

@@anmolgoel7145 I had to get injections. The injury is a self-perpetuating one, moving your thumb at all prevents it from healing, and not healing makes it worse.

@@Kooptj I didn't have the opportunity as I was bartending every night. The injections cleared it up immediately with no side effects or rest/recover whatsoever

Don't massage at the wrist (extensor retinaculum), you'll only aggravate the inflammation.
You're better off massaging the muscle belly lower down the arm (1/3)

I don’t quite have this but I feel a pinching pain in my wrist when ding things like push-ups or dips. I want to move on to handstand push-ups but my wrist can’t even handle a normal handstand

With wrist exercises it has been getting better over time I can hold a handstand for maybe 10 seconds since writing this post. But it is definitely still prevalent

Tried it but made my pain worse, my main pain is runs from my fingers on my right hand straight through the back of the hand and in to my wrist.
