Fallout 3 and New Vegas are both my favorites, for different reasons.

Fallout 3 has a better overall atmosphere, and i feel like it hurts NV cuz they were forced to reuse alot of assets that just dont fit a desert environment. But overall, NV has a much better story, mechanics, and does much better in terms of worldbuilding than Fallout 3. Throw some QOL mods in there and the better game shows its face rq

Fallout 3 had a bleak atmosphere like the first game, and New vegas had great storytelling and player agency that the second game had.

Same and fully agree, Bethesda fallout is extremely flat and 2D. To where new vegas seems like an actual world

Fallout 3 was also my first Fallout. Played it when I was WAY too young to understand anything, but that first view of the Wasteland was cool af.
Years later, I played Fallout 4 and I did like it my first time, specially Far Harbor. But when I played NV? Oooooooh my god. Fell in love with that game, it's the best RPG I've played to date. The characters, the world, factions... Perfect for me.
Also played 76 and the classics. Liked the latter more than the former. Over the years, I got to say that I appreciate more the classics and NV over 3, 4 and 76. I still like 3 tho, that old Creation engine hits me in a special way and gotta admit, the concept of the new power armor introduced in 4 feels like it's the right depiction of it. The name alone, "power armor" evoke that feeling of being in like an Iron Man mark I armor.

The og Fallout was my first, and still is my favorite. I marathoned the two when I heard that my favorite company was making a sequel so I knew I had to get caught up. I just prefer the ruined, punk aesthetic of the first game to the more light hearted sequel and the 3d games leave some things to be desired.

I first got into fallout because I really liked the creature design and art style but played 4 first because it was the only one I had access to at the time, I quite enjoyed it but was far from my best fallout experience.

My first Fallout was 3 and NV is still better.
Srsly its not even a question of preference, NV just does far more better stuff than 3.
    However I do like 4.

My first fallout game was Fallout shelter in which wasn't all that fun. and then I play fallout new vegas which blew my mind, and then I realized I can mod the game which make it alot of fun. And then I play other fallout games. I'll play fallout 3 in which improve the overall greatness of fallout. and then I decide to play the original. I play fallout 1 and then 2 and then fallout tactic and stop there. Can't play fallout 4 or 76 because my laptop wasn't strong enough.

My first experience with Fallout franchise was getting Fallout 3, played a lot of it and then was hesitant to get Fallout New Vegas cause it "didn't looked like Fallout" but i was so wrong. Fallout New Vegas showed me how well video game can make you think your decision and playstyles.
The anticipation of Fallout 4 was enormous but when i played maybe a week or two it started to feel numbingly repetitive. Dull choice making and too similar main questline not the mention settlement needed constantly your maintenance...
Fallout 76 intrigued me but i didn't get the game until the wastelanders update. World was way more interesting, when you saw some interesting point in the distance you definitely wanted to go and explore. Also the main quests were in their own way more better while thinking about the setting of the game.

Without mods 3 is my favourite, started on 76 (I know, I know) 4 probably my second favourite followed by new vegas.
In particular I love fallout 3s vibe, pure loneliness surrounded by empty space.

I will fully admit that I got swept up in the hate-train Fallout 3 was getting after New Vegas came out. The game did deserve some dunking on, but as the hate kept going, I started to realize just how toxic and hostile the fandom was getting, and I just... really hated seeing that, and took a good look at what I really disliked about 3 all that time, and how bad it truly is.
FO3 was my first Fallout title. I'd played Bethesda's Oblivion before, and saw reviews in gaming magazines, so I got it, and played a ton of that damn game, even without DLCs.
After I played 3 and loved it as a kid, I found a White Label collection box containing 1, 2 and Tactics on the cheap, and I played them all, never beating any of them (because dumb child), but I grew an appreciation for the older lore.
New Vegas comes out, fixes a ton of the story problems I had with 3, and revamps the gameplay as much as it could while using the same engine... and obviously, I loved it. This must mean FO3 was trash, right? And I held that opinion for years.
It's only been a couple years that I've truly realized how useless it is to denigrate anyone for liking the wrong title in the series.
I keep thinking I really should go and replay 3 again, or mod a Tale of Two Wastelands playthrough together. Maybe time away from that green-tinted wasteland will let me feel like a kid again when I do, surprised by every weird quest that I've forgotten, smirking smugly whenever I remember a good loot stash somewhere.

My first Fallout was Fallout 3. Still at the top of my list together with fallout 4. I dont like NV either. Dont know why, just the vibe with Fallout 3 is more fitting imo.

I will always have fallout 3 deep inside my heart as it helped me with my shyness and insecurities by talking to people, you may think, how a game can help you with that? Well, everytime I talk to a NPC and it suddenly stopped the time and you only focus on the person you are talking to make my imagination flustered and think: "hey, we all have time to respond, yes, it's very little by literal milliseconds but I wnt to put it on practice, same by focusing in the individual who am talking to instead of just looking away or something" AND IT WORKED!
I struggle with that for 15 years and now I can talk with anyone and even people liked me very much, you just don't know how much time you have to actually think of a respond to whatever the other people are saying, dont matter if it is an actual choice or a simple conversation, the fact that you can think while having a conversation it's mind blowing.
And the other question: "how you put that knowledge with a group of people?" That's where fallout 4 comes in as it showed me that people will comment while you are having a conversation with another guy even if it is inappropriate or related to the matter we are discussing, the fact that you can get interrupt and know how to approach it makes it very valuable.
Aside my personal achievements, I feel like fallout 2 is the better game of the series (yes, even than NV), why? Easy, how it plays, like dude, you can have a deathclaw as a companion, sure the animation takes long while entering combat as it has to take its robes off but still very cool and the fact that you can use a car or break doors with your barehands makes it incredibly unique.

My first was Fallout 2 got it on a whim loved it went and got 1 thought it was OK. Then I didn't play Any Fallout till New Vegas came around. I didn't even Know about 3 until after the New Vegas launch. I had moved on to other games and didn't think about fallout Until I gave NV a chance. And Just opposite of the Narrator of the video I like it better than 3. But that is to be expected as the game play improved from 3 to New Vegas. 4 is my least favorite of the new FPS type fallout games. It looks sleek but I hate the story and can't immerse myself in the game. 76... I've never even tried to play it as I am not wild about 4 and 76 just looked like a rehash of 4 but On line when it launched.

Wasteland and every thing after (-76). When they came out. Comparing them to each other now is silly, this series spans generations of gamers.

Best of Fallout 3: the atmosphere/vibe, random encounters, exploration and map the Soundtrack by inon zur
Best of fallout new vegas: rpg, storytelling, characters, world building/lore, choices, supporting cast, weapons, radio soundtrack
Best of fallout 1 and 2: rpg, antognists, humor, voice acting
Best of 76: power armor, settlement/camp building, crafting, weapon mods, online, map/world design, engine, third/first person gameplay, free updates
I didnt add fallout 4 since 76 already has the same mechanics as fallout 4 does but imrpoved upon, for example, the settlement/camp stuff is already 10x better without preston lol... and fallout 4 just doesnt add anything new to the series after 76 release, its just a boring rehash of fallout 3 :/

First game : Fallout 4 (never played 76 and don't plan on it I find the concept awkward like ESO)
Now, I have a really hard time playing it (along with the 3), it's just bad overhaul and an awful "rpg" (mail simulator, no impact on the world, no character development, awful Bethesda writting etc). It is still fun with mods though (Sim Settlements alone makes Fallout 4 worth playing because the game is again about rebuild the world rather than just seeing some old dust)
I prefer the 2 first games, despite their age they make way more sense when played
I became a typical Western cost lore >>>>> East cost lore

I played the fo1 demo when it first came out. I was really excited for the story, but hated the gameplay. I gave up on fo until fo3 fixed that.
From there I loved the music and environment of 3. The story and game play tweaks of nv (like ammo types and degrading weapons), and the customization of 4. I'm still looking forward to 5

Fallout 3 is my first and favorite. I picked it up at Walmart in 2009 on Xbox 360 while I was playing Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare I got at Walmart. I'm 34 and Walmart is the best place to shop. Haha

My first Fallout game was 76. It was during the pandemic (when I was personally at a not-so-great point mentally) and my brother had gifted it to me as a means for us to play the game together. Exploring the game's take on Appalachia and the gameplay loop helped keep myself occupied in my free time. It really helped me work through a lot of things and kept me hoping that things would get back to some sort of normal (thankfully, that's come to pass for the most part, but at the time it didn't feel like it). Playing and enjoying 76 led to me buying all the rest of the series on Steam and having now played through both 3 and NV (haven't gotten around to playing or beating 1, 2, 4, or Tactics), which I enjoyed just as much as playing 76.
Honestly, if my brother hadn't gifted me 76 and I hadn't played it when I did, I don't think I'd be such a fan of the Fallout franchise as I am now (and yes, that's also counting all the bad things that have happened to the franchise) and also wouldn't have such an appreciation for the franchise, for all the games' faults and strengths. I still play 76 from time to time whenever a new scoreboard season crops up, but even after I finish the scoreboard, I still sometimes hop on and roam around the map, exploring and re-exploring Appalachia again and not once do I ever get tired of the scenic landscapes when I look out from Vault 76 or looking out from Foundation. Building C.A.M.P.s has been fun (if not slightly tedious) and swapping builds to try something is also fun (alien blaster and grenadier builds are hilarious to play with). Despite 76 being my personal favorite game atmosphere-wise (NV takes the gameplay part, bar none), I still am grateful to have played these games that have changed my life (I know it's a bit cheesy and overdone to say it, but I do truly mean it).

I have heard that the big advantages Bethesda Fallout has, is the gunplay.
    I dislike the gunplay.
