I just remembered this, apparently there was a college student who did a similar study on super mutants for his project i think you can find it on the internet, he deduced that while normal super mutants wont have much of a problem feeding themselves, behemoths will since they never stop growing they'll either die of starvation or get crushed beneath their own weight
I'm 90% certain thats the same for Commonwealth Mutants but maybe all will become Behemoths. It would be cool to see a Behemoth that collapsed under its own weight in-game like an Angry Harold but meatier.😂
Didn't watch the video yet, but my headcanon has always been that both mutants, and ghouls, have evolved (Likely due to FEV) to be able absorb the persistent radiation that lingers around the wasteland, I personally think that would be an easy solution to explain things like Fridge Ghoul. With the existence of Super Mutant Behemoths and things like the Giant Bloated Glowing ones, it feels almost guaranteed for me that many of the mutated creatures and races in Fallout have some sort of ability to gain energy from radiation. There isn't really any other valid way to explain how a barren place like the Glowing Sea is teeming with megafauna
Like photosynthesis, or Gammasynthesis? That has been my headcanon too. A supermutants cells are maintained by metabolizing radiation and they can create more cells the normal animal way by eating proteins. That means they can keep building mass and as long as they have access to radiation have little effort maintaining it. Otherwise the idea that all these greenies are eating their necessary share of food in the wasteland is hard to believe.
“Immune to diseases” shows a nightkin (assuming Dog is a nightkin (I forgot if he is tbh) and I thought addiction was a disease? Or at least that’s what school taught us)
I just thought could you imagine if the institute accidentally made super smart super mutants and like raiders super mutants had full of power armor just bigger! The institute should have made smart mutants… 😢
As interesting as this video is, this just makes me wonder what it takes to feed a Scorchbeast. Its literally a dragon, and im pretty sure it can kill just about anything. You can commonly find Deathclaw corpses in fissure sites, so we can assume Scorchbeast just swoop down and snack on deathclaws. Now that sounds like a video Id love to listen to.

All vault 87 super mutants never stop growing

Even coming from a 30 year old guy watching a UA-cam video of exactly the same topic, that has to be the saddest shit I've ever fucking heard lol.

Very good point, i suppose that definitely was my head cannon and kind of cannon with feral ghouls
I'm a firm believer that super mutants can eat uranium or other nuclear materials
Same, it's what I imagine the transformation factor for turning from a Super Mutant Master to a Behemoth requires

This makes me wonder about how much brahmin and radstags need to eat. Does the second head need more food?
I was curious about this but am terrible at Maths & whatnot so Cheers Buddy.✌🏻😂
Someone on Twitter will see this and share the thumbnail saying “Bethesda UA-camrs are out of content” or something like that.
