Heya Chris, Fun to see these even more in-depth. I remember finding that 'Freefall' by Pat as a blind/deaf buy ages ago. Still quite impressive here for being more 'common, much of this'. :-) Arnie Lawrence....yep, I remember you putting that in my hands. A few of these were hand-offs from you to me over the years. ;-) Love that Mike Nock 'Climbing'. Wow, wasn't even aware of Paul's 'Cleopatra'! Must hear it now, especially with you considering it a favorite. Thanks for sharing, good sir. Peace n love. -Carm

And alot of these records are foundation type records..some everyone should own etc..

I was saying to someone yesterday, how humdrum my collection seems and this just highlights it. There are so many here I would like to hear. I have checked some out before, but know very few of them. Chris, this is a very important video for me. The theme is, ''beautiful sounds are everywhere''. I spent many years looking ''over the hills and faraway'' for ''new'' and '' different'' music. I forgot that great things are right at my feet. Chuck Mangione and Jon Hassell, both, make me feel so good.

I should get more A Pecock. I only have X-Dreams, which I think is pretty good. I have that Json Lindh album (aswell as a bunch other) and I spun it just now from you mentioning it. It sure has some pretty awesome tracks! I particularly enjoyed the cello on it. Could be my favourite of his too, I will have to revisit some more of them. Classics here in Sweden, you see them everywhere. Can't remember now what more I was gonna comment on... Well, most of these seems to be outside my wheelhouse, but a few caught my interest, I will check out that Herbie Mann Middle East album, Herbie being a name I've seen many times but I never stopped to investigate whatsoever. Oh yeah and those Abdul-Malik albums are interesting, I know I've heard both of them at some point. Nice. Cheers, Johan

      I love lindh's 70's lp's have them all.
More exotic here stateside than in sweden for sure like lundsten lp's as well..lol..but ya some really wonderful music on this particular one..both those herbie lp's are cheap and well worth a check as they more interesting than his usual fare.
The malik are groundbreakers and fantastic lp's unfortunately hard to find and not cheap in og form but they have been reissued..

We all have our own niche, like I know you don't care much for my noise stuff :) I bought X-Dreams I think blindly in my "first phase" of record buying over 10 years ago, so it's not nescessaraly one that I favor, just the one I happen to have. Cool to see Ratzer, although I remember you riding for him. I saw him live a couple of times. But he's been playing straight ahead jazz and Blues for a long time, nothing fusion-esque in there anymore. Great player though. The Rasa was sampled by Common not by ATCQ. I found that voyage to Uranus some years ago without knowing anything about it but. I figured it would be something you'd like. Have been looking for that Wali and the Afro Caravans since reading about it in a book by John Storm Roberts. A lot of stuff I do not know, some stuff I have seen in the bins but did never buy. Hey buddy. Oregon's 'Winter Light' is not only one of my favorite albums of theirs but one of my favorite album covers (photo by Colin Walcott no less)... Coincidentally for the last 3 days i've been on a total listening 'thing' with Oregon albums, many of which I haven't played for years.... I've got 'Air Pocket' (or had) on vinyl..agree 'Cosmic Furnace' is much better. Joe Pass was just one of the best guitarists... I'm with ya, post- Bill Connors RTF doesn't do it for me either.... I have 2 of those Dave Sancous on the CD reissues. Was listening to 'Native Dancer' just a coupel weeks ago. Siefert I was just listening to on Oregon's 'Violin' album yesterday... I'm also quite a Miroslav Vitous fan.... I have all those Weather Report albums but my favorite will always be their very first album by far... agree their Al Johnson years I dug as well (especially 'Tale Spinnin'). I dig Jan Hammers 'First Seven Days' as well....Love Yusef Lateef as well! I may have to look into 'Primal Roots' i've always kind of dug Sergio Mendes from that era. Love Pat Martino's 'Starbright' album as well! Totally agree-anything with Charlie Mariano is worth having!!! Oh yeah I quite like Mike Nock's "Climbing'-was surprised that it got reissued on CD many years ago so I grabbed it while it was still around. I think 'The Beast' could be my favorite Isham record.... I got the Cale/Riley still as well on vinyl..an odd album for sure.... Oh I dig the George Duke 1976 solo keyboard album as well.... Funny, 2 days ago I pulled out 3 or 4 of those Miles Davis live albums from the early 1970's and TRIED to play them for the first time in years...I didn't last too long, HA!!!!!
Oh i've been after a CD of that 'Diva' soundtrack -I have some of the music on a soundtrack compilation and its just incredible and wanted the whole soundtrack...
Boy I remember the days when I used to see tons of albums in the racks on the Pablo label....
Man, you're hitting on a lot of great stuff here for sure. I love the idea of just diving into a crate at random!
