@@DIFFY86 that’s such a huge step, I’m so excited for and proud of you! Be patient with yourself, it’s going to be a big change and will help you change your relationship with food in a positive way. Take it day by day, stick to the liquid and soft diets provided to you for the first few months after surgery💙 it’ll be uncomfortable but I promise once you get through the discomfort and are able to lose enough weight to comfortably exercise, you’ll soar from there! Those cheapy fruit flavored popsicles that come in those plastic tubes were a huge life saver for me and eased a lot of my internal discomfort too
Awesome, I'm a new diabetic and need this surgery so bad, I try everything to lose weight, working 4 days a week eating healthy and my weight just stays. Hormones, pre menopausal ugh I definitely need this and am going in June

@@amyburns5199 Hi! Thank you for asking. The surgery itself was quick - felt like I was asleep for literally 5 min. But honey, after I woke up I was MISERABLE 😩 I felt extremely nauseated to where I was throwing up blood immediately after I woke up because there was no food in my system and the nurses had to keep injecting nausea medication into my IV which stopped working after a while.
After going home and still having to take vitamins & pain medication 💊 without being able to eat was the worst 😭 Taking sips of water throughout the day like they tell you to was next to impossible for me. Everything I went through post op NOBODY talked about so I thought I was prepared but I wasn’t 😅 Needless to say, I dropped 17 lbs 5 days after surgery and by the time I went in for my 2 week checkup, I was close to 30 lbs lighter. I know the numbers sound great but the experience is something I NEVER want to go through again 😳
I've just started the classes and all the rest that goes with getting the surgery. Nervous, but, watching your vids have helped alot and the comments from others who have done this are also great. Thanks so much for making these vids!!

What type of ‘class’?
There is a program you have to go through before getting the surgery. The one I read about includes seeing a nutritionist and psychiatrist. It lasts between three to six months
I'm on my journey to VSG I'm on the part of seeing the nutritionist and in about 3months I'll be ready for surgery. 🙏🏾

I’m having surgery in fourteen days on July 22nd and I’m nervous and excited. On day two of my liquid diet and yeah it’s hard but it’ll be so worth it In the end.

Just started my program. Surgery could be between 2 and 5 months in future. A little nervous but I have a great surgeon who has helped me. As someone with PCOS and 150 -170 lbs to lose, this is my last chance. I will do everything I can to make it right.

@Jasmine Jackson hi! not sure if you still need help, but the first step is to do research on the surgery and the surgeons in your area. Look at reviews and once you've found the one get an appointment to do a consultation call to get an appointment. Usually the office will reach out to your insurance to see if they cover the surgery, if not, you may have to call your insurance yourself.

@Ruxandra Theodora V Honesty just trying to take it one day at a time. I had my post op appointment yesterday and my surgeon said I'm progressing well. I had to take my meds crushed for the last two weeks and it was getting depressing, but he cleared me to do whole now. Big relief. I've questioned my choice briefly, but I know it's because I'm in this stage. Praying for continued healing. I'm so happy to know this stage isn't forever! Thank you so much for asking. I've seen people show the before and after, but the in-between needs to be talked about because this isn't easy or glamorous right now💯😭

I'm wanting to get the gastric sleeve surgery done, but I have PCOS and it's so hard for me to lose weight. I'm 22 right now and about 300 points if not already and I really need it done! 😔 I'm hoping if I'm eligible to get it done, I'll hopefully be able to lose weight before and after.

I have an autoimmune disease that makes it virtually impossible to lose weight due to constant inflammation, hormone and cortisol release. I’ve tried paleo, keto, weight watchers and pills from my doctor. Then we decided to go to the next step. I haven’t had my surgery YET (it’s day after tmro 😮) BUT I’ve already lost 10 lbs just on the 8 day pre op diet. The diet is HARD, I won’t lie to you, but all I can think about is how much this will change my life. Best of luck if you decide to go thru with it! ❤
All you girls, I know the pcos is a nightmare, my wife deals with it as well. Fight with everything you have to get the surgery, I am 35 and had this done at 33. I went from 335lb to 198, I gave up a lot of enjoyment in my 20s to being so overweight. Get this as soon as you can and be able to enjoy your youth without being in pain and miserable all the time. I believe in all of you. This changes lives. I know pcos is a bitch but keep going. It is worth it 100%.

I’m still trying to decide between the gastric sleeve and the gastric bypass smh 🤦🏻♀️ I’m currently 449 with pcos and high blood pressure . I’m so nervous and can’t decide witch of the two to get . I have to hurry and make my mind up because the process has already started and the doctor said I can be scheduled around June or July ... I know with the gastric bypass you can’t EVER AGAIN smoke marijuana. And with the gastric sleeve you can . The waiting is hard, but I have been learning and mentally preparing for my new life, so I’m glad for the time. But I’m very excited that it’s only 24 days away. Have hypothyroidism. Have done everything under the sun to get to a healthy weight and I have been unsuccessful to lose weight through diet and exercise AND portion control. Would this work for someone like me that feels they don’t really over eat as it is??? Trying to find answers why I try to do everything right and can only lose about 10 lbs instead of the 80 I need to.

I’m 16 and I had a thyroidectomy on oct, 2020 and I’ve gained over 40 pounds, since then I am unable to breath properly due to the excessive weight gain. I exercise and eat healthy daily yet I am unable to lose weight, would I qualify for this or will I not be able to since I’m a minor, and if so would my insurance cover it?

I’m 17 and had a pseudo cerebral tumor last year brought on my being overweight. I’m eligible for this surgery and I just really hope I’m able to get it. I’ve already lost 21 pounds in preparation and hope I can loose more after the surgery.
You can do it girl. I'm 35 and I spent my youth obese. I didn't do this until I was 33 and I've gone from 335 to 198. I'm a guy and for my height I'm happy at this weight but once you learn the life adjustments that go with this procedure, it will allow you to get to whatever weight you are healthy at.
I beg you, don't give up your 20s to weight like I did. Do it when you can and enjoy your youth. Good luck!

@@antoniai9630 nearly 3 years now. Big life adjustments, but it's just normal now. Because of how little I eat now I have started taking a vitamin supplement as well just in case but it's been well worth it.

I’m 21 and at my highest weight right now 285. I’ve tried to lose weight for a long time. I’ve been doing ww but it hasn’t worked. I’ve been working out 3 days a week and I only gain weight. I eat the healthiest out of everyone in my household. I’m not into junk food and I eat salads because that’s what I prefer. I did keto in the past and only lost 10 pounds. I’m stuck and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been looking into this surgery for a year now but scared of the side effects and how my body will react. I’m also scared of being this big and having a heart attack or stroke because I have high cholesterol and have to take medicine for the rest of my life my doctor said. I also have epilepsy and hypothyroidism that could be factors for me not being to lose weight. I’m not sure if this surgery is for me but I’m looking more into it.
