@Blake N that has nothing to do with the sleeve, it has more to do with the person being addicted to food. I found your #AskDrA section but there are so many episodes I don't wanna watch all of them to find out what your thoughts are on fasting. I know with a full stomach it is a good thing but with a sleeve is it recommended? How do I convince myself to go with this surgery since all I have is nervousness about not being able to eat or guzzle a tall glass of ice water on a hot summer day. If you see this Dr A I would love a response. I think in one video you stated that you or your hospital has done over 9,000 of these. Even if you're a patient of his could you comment on this. There aren't really any side effects with the gastric sleeve. No issues with malnutrition as long as you take your vitamins and eat nutritious food. You shouldn't vomit if you are careful with how much you eat. If you obey your stomach and stop when it warns you to stop, you will not have to worry about feeling nauseous or gaining back your weight. My highest was 235 lbs., lost down to 137 lbs., thought that was too low, and tried to gain back 15 lbs. It took a YEAR to gain 15 lbs. LOL It's normal to feel scared, but feeling healthy will be more important. Best of luck!
I wish that I had seen your video sooner! I had an ESG 1.5 years ago and went from 188lbs to 152lbs. My goal weight is 135l. I still overeat sometimes without any consequences. I wish I did throw up so I'd stay closer to the 4 oz recommended for each meal. I see all these comments about the great weight loss and maintaining the weight loss for patients who had Gastric Sleeve surgery. Are they talking the surgery versus the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty? I thought that if I can have an Endoscopic procedure versus a surgery, that would be the way to go. I am so disappointed! Mostly in myself.
The surgeries/procedures are just a tool. Alot has to do with changing your relationship with food. Some doctors offer guidance through dieticians to help and may prescribe something to help with overeating. ESG is very effective. The problem is you had no support after your procedure. Alot of doctors tend to just do the surgery/procedure and send you on your way with no tools or anyone you can call for help with diet. Thankfully some doctors are changing that.
@@heatherbrowne2597 Thank you for your reply. I did have lots of support. I had regular appts with dietician, nurse, doctor and weekly visits with a therapist. I was stating that my food addition and comfort eating lead to my limited results. @Tarena Carrion I lost 35 lbs in the beginning. I had lost 125 on my own in approximately 15 months. I thought this would be away to lose the 50 I needed plus help control my eating. This my personal experience. I have no saline in lap-band. I can’t sit down and eat a meal. It wasn’t the answer for me. I’m addict to food. That’s the problem. No miracle surgery will change that. I'm really stuck at a crossroad.
Hello! Don't worry!
Maybe this video can help you :)

@@Endobariatric wow, I am surprised you was able to respond. Thank you. I will definitely watch this video when I am able to tomorrow. You are a man of your word getting back to your viewers. Thank you again.
I was able to watch this video today. I am getting closer to pulling the trigger and getting this done. I did contact a local place but most the testimonials are gastric by pass and all of the testimonials are 10 years old. Makes me hesitate and wanna look into a different facility. Thanks again.
@@cheatingiscompeting3647 I'm glad I helped you! We wish you the best during your weight loss journey!
Can you talk about being on antidepressants and getting the surgery ? Does it affect the weight loss in anyway?
Hi Louise!
It doesn't affect the weight loss, don't worry!
Best awareness

so.... which one is best then??
Gastric sleeve!
Hi I’m suppose to get vsg the 23 I’m re thinking it I’m 212 I’m scared that side effects won’t be worth the surgery since I have no health problems
Hello Marithe!
Don't worry, it's normal to be scared, but don't worry, the surgery will help you to improve even more your health
@@Endobariatric
The lap band was a terrible for me. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
LOL
It's normal to feel scared, but feeling healthy will be more important. Best of luck!
I'm losing over 5 lbs a week just doing the pre-op liquid diet!
You should not.
I wish that I did have bad physical response when overeating so I would have had the help of the negative consequences to help me.

I’m similar in size and want to get around your current weight. Do you recommend the ESG?
#askdra# if he states that if we introduce foreign things in our body it eventually has to come out, how is it in reference to the staples that are used and stay in there? Will they erode and need to be taken out?

Your videos are fantastic.
the balloon is a total ripp off
Really? Did you have a bad experience?
Super brother💕
I had a adjustable lap band I would wish it anyone. It was done approx 14 yrs ago. I can't eat meat bread. Mainly a soft diet. If at that I can throw up. It never ending. To eat a sandwich or chicken breast not going to eat 2 bites well send me to the bathroom throwing up. Sometimes even ice doesn't stay down. PLEASE PLEASE don't have this surgery.
@Tarena Carrion
I lost 35 lbs in the beginning. I wish you the best. Do your research.
Sounds like your band is too tight.....get some fluid removed
God bless you ❤
I agree, your band maybe too tight. I've had it for 14 years as well and didn't have that issue unless I ate too fast or tried to eat bread.
I'd love to have the Sleeve..But insurance won't cover it..Some people I know have gone to Mexico and had the gastric sleeve done there..But I am too scared to go out of the country for Bariatric surgery.
That is actually were we are located Rhoda.
I had my gastric sleeve done in Mexico HIGHLY recommend it I felt much safer their than I did in any American hospital very grateful and happy for the team
Rhoda Dr. A did my surgery. He is right across the border from San Antonio. Great Dr!! 💙
I had the sleeve done in Mexico around the same time some co-workers had theirs done here in the States. Mexico was a fantastic experience! Top quality care and excellent patient teaching for a week. I was teaching my co-workers because they had the surgery and were sent home after 23 hours in the hospital. Honestly, there's no comparison. Disclaimer: I used a different company, so I cannot attest to this one.
I went through Mexico bariatric center just over 2 months ago for gastric bypass.
Was amazing i highly recommended
Am thinking about a gastric sleeve. Just the nervousness of the whole procedures.
Am 5.6 ft tall, and i weigh about 99kg. Clearly overweight .
I want to do something about my health now. Am 38 by Dec. Dr. A how do I reach your facility? Please reply.
