i just got the operation in colombia, im down 45lbs in 4 weeks, this is a community and im glad i did it, anybody who needs information im glad to share my experience. do it you wont regret it
Bro I’m two days post op and I’m feelin the buyers remorse already lol. I’m trying to figure out how much liquid I can take in at a time it’s kind of hit n miss. My surgical sites hurt and my abs are killing me every time I move. Looking forward to seeing positive results soon. Thanks for the motivation to keep going bro. Hope you’re well.
Hi there, I've been considering doing a sleeve and have an appointment with my doctor in a week. I'm really nervous but watching your videos has really helped.me stay calm about all of this I am 24 and already been diagnosed with sleep apnea and hypertension which is scary for both my family and I.really proud of you and your journey
Good morning, I would suggest you to go with what your gut tells u. If your doctor suggests it, do it. I have both sleep apnea and hypertension even dealt with sleep walking issues (those sleep walking problems usually don’t want to experience) make sure u do it for u and u only. There are going to be a few naysayers but take it from me… ignore them because they’ll feel like they’re doing something by telling u what they want u to do instead of you doing thing for yourself. Make sure u weigh all of your options regardless of what solution you choose. I just had mine this past Thursday (2/29/24). Although I’m currently dealing with the soreness, I also know that it is temporary. Godspeed my friend
Omg I am now 5 days post op and the first 2 days I was suffering from pain in my chest and heart and now makes sense and I hope you have an amazing recovery journey ❤😊
Ran across your video at 3 am.. I am preparing for gastric bypass surgery.. I am glad to here a male prospective of the surgery..I look forward to a new life and future..Thanks for the video 😀
I am 6 days post op and very tired and weak. I am feeling some of the buyers remorse you talked about. Im glad I found your video to help me through the day. I am ready for some nourishment. Clear liquids is for the birds. Thanks!
It is so true, so much of TV advertises food! I really liked this video. I am on Day 9. Sleeved 13- March-2020. It's good to have people to chat with who help strengthen your resolve and give a positive perspective again.
It's good to hear another man's perspective and the post op struggles. I also valued hearing why you chose to go through this. Sometimes as men it's hard to come to terms with our challenges. I wish you nothing but success in your life!
Thank you so much for your videos! My husband and I are going to have surgery this year and it's hard to find male videos to share with him so thank you!
I just found your channel, thanks so much for all of your insight! I am today 5 days post-op (vsg) and so many of the things you said rang so true to me, especially about craving foods and the buyer's remorse part. It is basically a whole new lifestyle to get accustomed to. It is very inspiring to see you being so positive and successful. Thank you so much! Can't wait to watch your other videos.
I’m 8 days post op! I have to say I was scared at first and I also said what have I done in the OR RECOVERY ROOM. PPL I knew had it was like it’s gonna be normal reaction to want food the smells be like Homer Simpson to a donut! However I remind myself that I don’t want to go back to the person I was to feel the way I did. So I stay on track starting weight was 296. 2 days (before surgery ) I was 283. Today day 8 I’m 269. My back don’t hurt I’m not in any pain besides the swallowing discomfort but it’s not pain. I have taken my gas medicine to stop the gas discomfort that usually comes from swallowing and the after effect do the surgery. I am super proud of myself I was 3 days post op walking around the mall! I now use my Apple Watch to track some steps and to close my rings. It’s not accurate but just knowing I actually did get at least the number on my watch is enough for me! 9 days ago you couldn’t tell me my back and knees wasn’t gonna hurt no more. I’m telling ALL my friends to check it out bc this has changed my life! I feel more confident with myself and I feel like I can get this weight loss thing right! The clear diet sucks but it’s just 7 days which isn’t bad! Then full liquids then sift them solids! Key factor is finding ppl who you can now go out to eat with and sharing a plate vs me finishing a plate! Soups are a great thing and I invested in a blender for my veggies which has helped for my intake. Oye that the medicine will stop ya from poopin for about a week so taking your colace or fiber supplement is super important. If a person on unsure always consult with the surgeon or nutritionist for help that’s what they there for. If you guys are considering don’t listen to people who give horror stories about they friend etc. Do what’s best for you. Best part is most insurances now pay for the surgery Medicaid /Medi-cal pay in full! I had nothing out pocket for mine! Omg and the money I have saved not buying food is fantastic I save enough to go buy me a necklace! Good luck if you’re reading this. Welcome to your journey! Cheers to new beginnings.
You are the freakin' BOMB, dude. One man to another, good for you. I myself am coming up on it fast, August 10, 2020 VSG surgery date, so I'm on pre-op liquid diet for two weeks (Day 8). You didn't describe anything I didn't already see coming; let me tell you about pain from a recent mishap: c. July 1 something went in my back, common for us XXL people. Muscle or spine, I dunno. That was the worst pain I can ever recall, trying to stay mobile with that in your lumbar region? Getting out of bed was excruciating, but I got a system going. Point? Odd timing, I figure that was "awful" (but have 90% recovered, as they said it would, five to six weeks later). How can VSG be much worse? And this has huge benefits in the long term! Can't wait, myself. Of course, will hunt up more of your videos and wishing your journey well over the long term! I have a great ND close to home, whom will keep an eye on me in months and years post-surgery, too: I think she'll be crucial to success.
Aloha,. Thanks for your video! I am also 1 week post op and you literally just described my situation exactly. I'm full of optimism for the future for the first time in a long time. Keep up the good work braddah!
Thank you for sharing this. I started my liquid diet today and feel crappy. I was so excited to start it. It my new life after all and then the nausea and headaches started. Let me just say a good support system helps a lot. I do not have that unfortunately.
I am scheduled for surgery on 12/29. Half-way through the pre-op liquid diet. Stocking up on protein shakes, vitamins, soups, etc. I've lost 13 lb. just on the pre-op diet in a week. My wonders why I need the procedure then. She hasn't completely bought in. That's my biggest problem. I appreciate hearing and learning from your experience, Tony. Thanks.
Thank you for your Honesty! Many people who recieve this surgery only show the before & after, almost look at me point of view. You don't often hear of the lifetime challenges that come along with this decision. You have a supportive Family, your doing Great. One day at a time!
Appreciated this video tremendously, and how open and honest you were about your experience. I'm on this path to having surgery late this year/early next year. Certainly gives me some thoughts to ponder. Hope to hear response to some of the other questions/posts from others so we know how you are doing. Thanks again.
Today is 06/26/2024. I go for my bypass surgery this coming Monday on the 1st of July. I do have misgivings but also want to live a while longer. I'm 66 years old. They are also taking my gallbladder at the same time and fixing a high adel hernia also.
Thank you for posting this, next month is my last dietician meeting and I get a surgery date. Im nervous and excited but most of all My "why" is to be here amd healthy for my 2 children whom I adore! So thank you for sharing!!!
I'm 34. 6'2 and was average 250lb but on meds 281lbs. Feel odd being so young but I can't control these new meds that increased my weight. Surgery is non foreign to me, but this video helps while I'm deciding. Thank You,

New here. I have a referral. My surgeon told me NO today for another hernia surgery. My BMI is 46. 264lbs at 5'3 and 51. 😢 my next adventure. Life changing. Ty for your videos.
My doctor said I had a small hernia barely can see it on the X-ray that he will take care of the day of my sleeve surgery! Praying all goes with me! From all the research I've done. The first few days are the toughest but get easier.!
Hi! Thank you so much for sharing. Tomorrow I will have surgery and I am happy, excited, and scared. Alongside all of that I am keeping positive because I know in the long run my health will be at a better place and I will be able to do things I once enjoyed--like jogging🙂
I just got the surgery done 03/01/22 I definitely feel the struggle I’m the same as you I didn’t have pain or get sick the only thing that really bothered me was my throat and chest but it’s 75% gone I’m doing really good Just the food part is really a big struggle for me right now
Just had mini gastric bypass surgery yesterday. I went into this surgery knowing I would have buyers remorse, because I've been so comfortable stuffing my face with anything. But truth be told, there's not a lot of things that you won't ever be able to eat 2 months from now. You just can't eat too much or too often those things.
This video was awesome! Very straightforward and personable. I literally like I was at the table with my friend. Thanks for sharing and Beat of luck throughout your journey! My Surgery is on Monday, 8/1/22 and I am EXCITED 🥳

I had my surgery 4 days ago and as soon as I woke up from my surgery I had immediate buyers remorse. I was in so much pain that when I woke up from surgery I started crying like a big baby. I was dry heaving every 10-20 minutes for 2 straight days. Which probably explains the unbelievable amount of pain I’m still having right now.
You have been a big inspiration to me. I keep dreaming of what my life will be like after surgery. The wait is driving me crazy. I want to be healthy. There is so much I want to do that Iv not been able too. I want to live and fulfill my dreams. Iv wanted to go swimming for the longest time now. Just putting on a swimsuit around others I haven’t in 25 years.🙈 I’m very modest about the way I look to others . No one wants to be obese. It’s a sad life....
Hi it’s been 3 years since this video and I’m wondering how’s your maintenance journey going? And if you’re currently struggling just remember you’ve got this
Just got my surgery this past Monday, feel like crap. I keep getting hunger pains and Im so bloated. Now have diarrhea from the liquid diet. But I know I will be alright. I know this will all be worth it
I'm considering having the sleeve, but my biggest fear is.. I just can't cope with hunger pains.. Have you got through that yet or are you still hungry..? Thank you
Wish I had a support system like yr sister, I'm basically doing this on my own. Next week Wednesday 4-5-23 I'm very nervous I tolerate pain really well but I'm supper nervous about tht Gas pain. And I think the best stage will b pureed foods I can't wait for that, bcuz this liquid preop is sooo hard and I said to myself by August I'm sure I'll be able to eat a vegan burger I'm dying to try
Keep posting videos and can you please say the full date of when you make the videos I see a lot of videos on here and everyone leaves out the year. But I will be having my surgery this year in 2020 and I’m also going to have the sleeve. I can’t wait I’m so excited but good luck to you and please keep posting
I get my sleeve on the 14th and I am terrified. Did you throw up at all. That is my biggest fear feeling sick and being in a lot of pain. I almost thought about backing out but I remember my why. Your video has really helped me stay calm.
I wonder how 50 years ago most people were of a normal weight. And now we have an epidemic that is only controllable with bariatric surgery. The one thing i have noticed is either way you must avoid sugars. Could it be the vegetable oils, high fructose corn syrup, and fast food.. And also portion size. Which is the one thing the surgery helps with. Crazy thought if you have to learn to change your diet anyway, why not try before getting this drastic surgery . Im getting cold feet.
Just came across this video as I’m contemplating and researching sleeve surgery. Just wanted to see how you were doing now. I noticed this was two years ago when you posted the video. Just curious how you are doing now and what your total weight loss is and if you’ve been able to maintain and if you still feel like you made the right decision :)
I'm in the same place, contemplating and researching and trying to be sure I have my eyes open to everything involved. So appreciated this video, hope he sees these comments and can update.
I had mine done Feb 24th 2020. Started at 249 as of today 232. I had a lap band put in 2011, it worked at first but later major stomach problems. Colon Cancer in 2010, being a guy I lifted things I shouldn't and well many hernias and crap I wanted the lap band out and got the sleeve. As you know our stomach is smaller and its nice not to get clogged up by the lap band. Don't take much to get full with the sleeve! My best to all!
@@curtisforcum in Jan 2020 I was 390 march 3 surgery day was 359 and today april first im 335, i had the sleeve and it has not been bad as far as pain and i have not been sick. I had to really buckle down and walk more and yes will power no cheating on food, i take alot of vitamins for now. Keep me updated on your progress and keep going im always around to tlk if you need ideas👍
Week and a half out and I'm surprised how much liquids I can consume. I thought it would be tiny bits but I'm able to drink an ok amount. I still can't do 2 litres a day though. Maybe as time goes by

Awesome 😁👍 you got this. You made a great decision. 🙏
I got buyer's remorse when I first threw up after gulping some water due to a tablet getting stuck. Funnily enough my sister also really motivated me
When I get a serious craving for something I sip pickle juice. That killed the craving.
Well done in making the right decision I’m also booking the sleeve soon I’m so nervous but I know it’s needed

Well looks like he lost 100lbs in 4 months! Hopefully he was able to keep up with it.
I just had a bypass on the 28th of March. The liquid diet part after is messing with me since my pouch can only hold an ounce.
it's been 18 months for me and it is clearly the best decision I've ever made
Thank you for this video.

Hope everything went well for you.

dunrob13 great job. I’m sure you’ll do great. Just be patient and follow the program. God bless.
Watched your. Videos glad for ya. I get sleeved tomorrow 3/3/20 im excited but nervous.👍
Maybe as time goes by
Good job 👏🏻 video
