Beautiful Italien women, saving kittens and made our food of his outside fridge in the truck. We listened to Pink all the way up and down. His biggest dream was to show me this concert. Beside my Mom, Pink was his greatest love! He never could afford it. So we bought it on DVD and wore that CD OUT! So thank you for posting this. You just made me travel with my Father from the humble city of Randers, Denmark, seem like it was yesterday. All the way to Italy and back! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!

And now I'm sitting here listening to this song with my 6-year-old son. Thank you for your immortal music.

I was glad to hear Rick’s keyboard playing balanced pretty well against David’s guitar and Nick’s drums, though I always wish they would push his levels up a tad more (there’s so much else going on on stage!). At least towards the end of this song the balance seemed to highlight the three Floyd members. I always love hearing Rick and David really play together.
If I had been there I would have been sobbing like a baby. Such is the response in the presence of such intrinsic beauty. I am late to the party when it comes to Pink Floyd, but I can honestly say that this is one of the greatest displays of musicality, musicianship and emotion that I have ever felt, heard or seen. What a band.....
I was there for 3 nights straight in November 1994. The first time I'd travelled internationally was for this pilgrimage. I cried myself to sleep in a dorm room in the Carl's Court youth hostel. I was incapable of being coherent for days after. 30 years have got behind me, and I'm terrified that I forgot to run. I've cried enough for you and I.

My uncle introduced my to Pink Floyd's music when I was about 15 years old. Id started to learn to play guitar a few years beforehand having lessons at school (had been having private piano lessons since i was around 7 or 8, and by that point was at grade 4 ABRSM exam level so was getting on with it quite well). Was going out fishing early one Saturday morning so i stayed at theirs the night before. We sat up the two of us once my aunt went to bed, and he put on the DVD of this very concert and we cracked open a beer. Said to me "once you can play a guitar like Dave Gilmour mate, youve done it". From that point on, i sat and watched the dvd in awe and amazement. He was at Earl's Court when this was recorded and said the atmosphere was unbelievable. I had an idol to admire as far as my guitar playing was concerned.
David Gilmor...you're a great guitarist. Precise chords and an incomparable delicacy for the ears... God bless you forever. I thank you for existing in this time and living to hear you play... that ending was incredible...
Simply stunning. I remember that tour so well. Absolutely amazing that 25 years have flown by since then... I would take 10 notes from David Gilmour than 100 from almost anyone else. released on their eleventh album, The Wall (1979). It was released as a single in 1980 with "Hey You" as the B-side. The chorus progression and guitar solos were written by guitarist David Gilmour, while the lyrics and verse progression were written by bassist Roger Waters. That was 34 years ago, I'm free now and listen to PF more than ever, they saved a young girls life back then. I will be forever grateful. 🙏

Hey john enjoy your life and pink floyd / mark knopfler / bob dylan / ac dc / aerosmith / iron madien / led zep / judas priest / black sabbath are the heaviest of this planet and enjoy their compositions and live more and death will fade away.
For me it depends on the mood... all three are fantastic for their own reasons. To me, Pulse is the cleanest and most expressive. Pompeii is the rawest and grittiest and elicits the most emotion. Gdansk focuses the most on the guitar and has elements where Gilmour went the most off the script into unexplored territory.
I'm on the bloody verge of crying each and every single time. An absolute masterpiece and most probably the greatest guitar solo of all time by David in terms of power and emotions ! I can't decide if I prefer the DSOT version of the Pulse version of it. They are both absolutely outstanding. Pink Floyd forever ! 🤘👍👏👏👏🙏❤🎸
When i was around 10yo my abusive step-dad (he never hit me but he did hit my mom lots) introduced me to pink floyd... I hated everything pink floyd for years. Never listened to it and everytime i heard the name it would make me think of him. I'm 39 now and last 4 weeks have been an eye opener, this has to be the most wholesome, healing music i ever heard in my life. I just regret i never truly "listened" to it until now. This is no doubt one of the best songs ever written with the most beautiful solo ever. No way to explain it but it touches every fiber of my body. All those wasted years of hate... Now they don't matter anymore. Don't hate people or you might miss out on something beautiful and pure
It is the most sublime music , singing and guitar playing you will ever hear. David is not just a genius , his playing is from a different world - he takes me to a place that I would imagine to be the impossible , yet it is real and transformative. Will never see a guitarist like him ever again -
I watched the pulse-show in 1984 at an air field in Austria. This song flashed me in an other world. I do not know how often I watched this absolute masterpiece since then. Definitely the best guitar solo ever.
This video, any video, cannot do that ball any justice. I get goose bumps just remembering the effect it made in the auditorium I was at. Fantastic concert. Fantastic band.
Idk how many times I've listened to this version over the past 30 odd years, but every time I do, and during the 2nd guitar solo, I get orgasmic chills up and down my entire body.
Believe me being an absolute music fan, spanning decades of music. But in my humble opinion, this guitar solo is epic! The best my ears have ever heard, indeed! Absolutely majestic.
Yes, it is epic! No selfishly proving/demonstration/show of technical qualities. Just a pure flow of emotions. No second of the entire 5 minutes of the solo is wasted. Definitely one of the best (rock guitar) solos out there. Hendrix, Vaughan, Moore etc. have equally great solos but I don't know... this one always catches me me like nothing else!
Absolutely brilliantly outstanding with the remaster, thanks so much! But one question. Is this the longest version available of the song? I seem to recall another PULSE version of this at over 10 minutes (?!) I could be wrong. Thanks.
Emotionally, I think the LIVE 8 reunion performance had a bigger impact, knowing that that was the last time the four of them would perform this song. But also seeing David Gilmour appear for this song on one of Roger Waters' performances of THE WALL was quite memorable too! Bravo!
Look in UA-cam under Roger Waters-David Gilmour Comfortably Numb 02 Live 2011. Gilmour appeared for this song (+ the finale) during Waters' performance of THE WALL, and freaked out the crowd.
The one that gets me the most is the one from Brazil. The shear love and respect from the crowd of young kids just gets me. None of them were even born when this came out, it is not their native language, and they sing it like they own it.
The BEST Comfortably Numb I EVER heard! NEVER thought it could sound better! 💓👏David's Guitar solo is the Greatest 🇬🇧🎸💓🌟 Love You DAVID GILMOUR LOVE YOU HDPink Floyd❣️
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible.
@6:38 Dave Gilmour knowing that the entire arena is focused in on him, the pressure to not break a string must have been immense, then cuts across to Nick Mason simply "Having It" on the drums, smashing it out!! This has been one of my favourite songs since was a teenager, and this must be the best performance of it they ever did
A minha alma ouve Pink Floyd. Pink Floydiano
I give praise to ever single session player, past and present players. To sit in and even play one song, has to be the greatest thrill to play with such a legendary group. People will be listening to Pink Floyd well over 100 years from now. Gilmore wears that whammy bar out 😂😂😂
Pink Floyd - это не просто группа, это целый загадочный мир, сотворённый Дэвидом Гилмором. Душа парит, как птица, мысли уходят в интеллектуальный Космос и ты отчётливо чувствуешь себя божественным творением.
Seen Pink Floyd 5 times, but I don't know why this solo seems to be everyone's favorite. He's done at least 5 equally amazing renditions in the past 20 years, in my opinion. His ability to find new sounds to create within it seems neverending.
I've also seen them 5 x times including this one and I think this is his best rendition, the Acoustics at Earls Court make a difference I think, plus the actual solo itself (which has had variations over the years) is his best version
Stuart Lamont - As I said, I know a lot of people say this is the best. I just don't see it. While you are mentioning acoustics, I've heard a lot of nice things from the R.A.H.,...
The best guitar solo ever played from one of the best songs ever made by one of the greatest guitarist of all time played in the best Rock band of all time during the best music concert ever done, even after 30 years... David played with his heart and soul....THIS IS SIMPLY A LEGEND
I've not listened to this song in a long time but, now, this takes me straight back to Earl's court: the best gig I've been to. Other gigs, other renditions perhaps....but this is the tour I saw.
After more then 2 decades it just dawned on me. Having visited a concert of this tour as a young boy -which didn't know anything about Pink Floyd- turned out to be my all time high life experience. Being there with my dad, seeing the light specks of the mirror ball on my body, experiencing the music, the lights, the motionlessly staring of all the adults to the show. Every time I see this show my mind freezes and just accepts the joy of the moment, taking me back to my first and only Pink Floyd live experience. This concert has become part of me. Especially this song, but also "one of these days" , another brick in the wall" and " Run". Since then I have been at 100ths of concerts but none has come close to the same experience. I wish shows like these came back. For all the faults my dad might have had, I'm eternally grateful for bringing me to the concert.
No other guitar solo will ever match what David does here. It’s legendary

Music is what love sounds like! Music is life! You are indeed fortunate to have made this discovery. Bless you.
Yes. This is, the Greatest Guitar Solo of all Time;
Agree
Please God do any miracle and bring another Pink Floyd to us!
5 mins of complete awesomeness. It's just amazing. It's perfect.
Is it to short lol
Best solo ever by David Gilmour 🎸💯
My favourite song of all time! Will have this playing at my funeral!!!
I love Pink Floyd..but my song is from LED ZEPPLIN..my time of dieing😎🍺🍺✌️
Me too
Absolutely brilliant, magical music with amazing lyrics with an unforgettable lead guitar solo,
The greatest piece of music I have ever heard in my 52 years Of life
It is the most sublime music , singing and guitar playing you will ever hear. David is not just a genius , his playing is from a different world - he takes me to a place that I would imagine to be the impossible , yet it is real and transformative. Will never see a guitarist like him ever again -
0.00 - 9.31. Best part!
hehehe yes i agree ;)
I appreciate all parts of the song not just the solo :)
That’s true!..lol
I watched the pulse-show in 1984 at an air field in Austria. This song flashed me in an other world. I do not know how often I watched this absolute masterpiece since then. Definitely the best guitar solo ever.
When David sings or solos, I smile! Just beautiful
Pink Floyd kills depression pure therapy what a tune
Prescription-strength Pink Floyd.
Thanks for the GREATEST ROCK & ROLL BANDS IN MY HISTORY 4-20-63!!!
gilmour, obrigado. monstro, uma lenda; Este é maior solo de guitarra de todos os tempos. PUlse é o maior show já produzido da história da música.
Dave's solo with the lightning rig doing all sorts variations of lights. Man just absolutely phenomenal.
This is WONDERFUL, HISTORIC, many thanks for your hard work HDP , Love the widescreen, so much better !
Absolutely brilliantly outstanding with the remaster, thanks so much! But one question. Is this the longest version available of the song? I seem to recall another PULSE version of this at over 10 minutes (?!) I could be wrong. Thanks.
I have heard every version of this song and solo multiple times in my long life but surprisingly this one made me tear up. :)
Emotionally, I think the LIVE 8 reunion performance had a bigger impact, knowing that that was the last time the four of them would perform this song. But also seeing David Gilmour appear for this song on one of Roger Waters' performances of THE WALL was quite memorable too! Bravo!
@@davidyoung5114 when was that presentation of the wall with roger and david? Is there a video?
Look in UA-cam under Roger Waters-David Gilmour Comfortably Numb 02 Live 2011. Gilmour appeared for this song (+ the finale) during Waters' performance of THE WALL, and freaked out the crowd.
The one that gets me the most is the one from Brazil. The shear love and respect from the crowd of young kids just gets me. None of them were even born when this came out, it is not their native language, and they sing it like they own it.
The BEST Comfortably Numb I EVER heard! NEVER thought it could sound better! 💓👏David's Guitar solo is the Greatest 🇬🇧🎸💓🌟
Love You DAVID GILMOUR
LOVE YOU HDPink Floyd❣️
Yes ...it pierces my soul that feels dead almost always.
One of my very favorite versions of this song and I’ve heard just about all of them. The light shows alone are worth the price of admission.😊👍
This has been one of my favourite songs since was a teenager, and this must be the best performance of it they ever did
I drove from Devon and back in the same day just to be there. Walked out of the gig stoned and I don’t do dope. What a night!
The greatest solo guitar piece ever played! No one will match David Gilmore masterpiece!. A legend has been created!
Same, drove down from Liverpool and got stoned without much passing my lips
A minha alma ouve Pink Floyd. Pink Floydiano
A distanza di 30 anni e con la tecnologia di allora, rimane il concerto più spettacolare ed emozionante mai eseguito da quando esiste la musica. ❤
I give praise to ever single session player, past and present players. To sit in and even play one song, has to be the greatest thrill to play with such a legendary group. People will be listening to Pink Floyd well over 100 years from now.
Gilmore wears that whammy bar out 😂😂😂
I had once believed that David Gilmour's solo at Pompeii was the best ever but I have determined that the solo from Pulse is the best I have found.
Pink Floyd - это не просто группа, это целый загадочный мир, сотворённый Дэвидом Гилмором. Душа парит, как птица, мысли уходят в интеллектуальный Космос и ты отчётливо чувствуешь себя божественным творением.
The Best there is and best there ever will be, thanks for sharing this GEM !
One of the best solo guitarist in the World. This song is amazing
Its an outerbody experience listening too this epic tune.
so Beautiful ! thanks for this wonderful treasure
Medical team played this for me while I was going under for heart procedure! Awesome! Never forget their kindness and professionalism!!😊
@@samuelluria4744 Agreed, and the modern versions don't sound like someone shot Nick with a tranq dart before he set the tempo.
The best guitar solo ever played from one of the best songs ever made by one of the greatest guitarist of all time played in the best Rock band of all time during the best music concert ever done, even after 30 years... David played with his heart and soul....THIS IS SIMPLY A LEGEND
The band is the best in the world every thing they is absolutely fantastic 👏
This really is the best guitar solo of David's career.
I still think they are the best band in the world 🌎 I am 80 years old I could listen to them all day
Hi, I´m 70, having breakfast right now with good headphones on and getting high as so many times before. Love it so much❤
im 115 and having a BIG horse steak with akg headphones
I've not listened to this song in a long time but, now, this takes me straight back to Earl's court: the best gig I've been to.
Other gigs, other renditions perhaps....but this is the tour I saw.
Topaxci was at Earl’s Court what a concert will never forget it till the day am up at them pearly gates living the dream
I can listen to Gilmour playing this brilliant guitar solo ten times a day - a one in a lifetime, its magical !!!!!
The best piece of music ever made in history of mankind right here ! 😍
An absolute god given guitar solo makes me cry listening to it its so good
I can’t pass any day without listening to this song
Saw this at the L.A. Colosseum 1989....the greatest show I ever witnessed ! R.I.P. Richard.
You guys write history. Playing such a solo in frond of all these people and not to mention all these flashing lights. 👏👏👏
This never gets old!
Every time I listen to it it puts me in another place, with shivers up my spine, prob the best guitar solo ever
Comfortably Numb !!!
Still breathtaking after all these years.
One of the best solos you will ever hear. Thank you. 🔊🔊🎧🎧
