I enjoyed this review video. My opinion is to just buy the bundled DLC in package such as Year 1 Pass when it is ON SALES. When it is on Sales, the base game + Year 1 Pass is much cheaper than the base game alone. This is the time to buy and extend the gaming experience to another level.
I just paid 64.99 for all 3 year passes very happy then I found out I'm still getting season 10,11,and 12 when they come out I think these people just hate n don't have no idea how much you get now got my son a map pack for far cry 5 you don't get mush
I've owned snowrunner since it was released and I don't find the DLC excessive at all. There's no RNG, there's no loot chests or buying in game currency. There's just new maps and new trucks. And there's a LOT to do in the base maps, and there's a LOT of base trucks. You don't need the DLC at all to get the full experience of the game. But it's there for people who want it.
I've enjoyed all the Spintyres games and have just picked up this one. I'd love to see this level of traversal difficulty "imported" into an open world action game, especially one with time constraints. Also factoring in "spreadable fire" ala Far Cry 2 as an additional "obstacle" would be truly spectacular. The devs could fuse something like this with a Disaster Report game combining perilous "on foot" and vehicular traversal with various emergency scenarios - I'm staggered that nobody has really attempted that tbh. Imagine a scenario of having to rush to save your family and factoring in branching story paths....ah man, the possibilities this presents.....
For real, I wish we had new disaster rescue simulation games. I remember having so much fun with Emergency 4 back in the day, now combining that with a game like this one, add in to that an active modding community and a good co-op, it would mean thousands of hours of fun.
I just got a Moza r5 wheel, been playing ATS and ETS2 so I'm definitely gonna give this a try. I want the world to be more intense, and more open-ended. I want to explore
The begining of the game is is quite brutal, once you unlock a few decent trucks you can actually start making progress. Even after that it still takes a lot of patience to stick with the game. The tire DLC was much needed and have been enjoying it a lot recently.
I’m a long time World of Warcraft player. And I was fortunate enough to discover this amazing simulator. It has since fully consumed my life. I love it
Nice review! You do however get a lot of content with the season pass dlcs (especially the first one is great) - so if you like the base game they are totally worth it! regarding the paid truck dlcs: you’re right they are totally overpriced, but they aren’t required at all since they are only OK (saber should have just included them in the base game/season pass)
If I’m not mistaken, it’s cheaper to buy the yearly passes for like 25 bucks. You get 4 maps per pass. Separately, they’re like 10 bucks a pop. I haven’t bought any yet but I plan on doing so when I complete all the regional progress.
@@phoenix0166 yeah that’s why I only got the individual vehicles I was interested in the jeeps where worth 5 bucks I think. The passes have been amazing bhhoping they add even more
You and I don't how much the licensing costs from Stallantis to put Jeeps in a game, for example, but I bet it isn't cheap. Also, I'm glad people get paid for their work developing all the many new trucks and other high quality content year after year (it's been four years now since the game released), just like I expect to be paid for my work.
I like your presentation style and that you don't mess around for the people who want a short and simple answer while still going into depth for the rest of us, you've definitely earned a new subscription from me! I will say however that the price chart you showed is off, at least for here in Canada, because the game is $53.49 at full price and even 50% off for Black Friday it's still at $26.74..
I really want this game but I wanna know if I can have fun without paying for anything I’ve never tried it so can someone tell me will I have fun playing without worrying about dlc etc??
Snowrunner is absolutely still worth buying. One of the best games I've ever played. Only problem I've run into is two of my best trucks disappeared from the game. They weren't hiding in a garage slot or map or truck storage. They were completely gone from the master truck list when inside a garage. I gave up on them. Then last night, I finished the Steel River Township task list, jumped to a garage to plan my next mission, and my missing trucks were back in truck storage again. I was a happy camper.
TBF, "Excessive amount of microtransactions" aren't that much Excessive, The default vehicles are good enough to get you through the game, Also, Most of their DLC are dirt cheap affordable, costing less than a can of Redbull,
Tried the game because it was free with PlayStation catalog and gutted I didn’t try it sooner, hands down top game! Cannot wait to get the year passes when I’ve eventually done the full game
I've always reminded my kids as they took an interest in driving, that it's easy to make a vehicle move 'forward' and at 'speed' but any deviation to either, is when controlling a vehicle becomes precarious at the very least, always tests your ability to predict the unknown. And requires no less than one hundred percent of ones attention, unlike gaming, because *real cars and real people* don't come fitted with re-spawn buttons. 🤔 The comparisons made between SnowRunner and my current favourite ETS-2 made me chuckle, but it's so true, ETS-2 is like like a cleaner version, but that's where all similarities seem to end. I think in ETS-2 one can literally put the radio on, sit back in an air-ride seat and set the adaptive cruise control to auto-pilot... HOWEVER! NOT SO EASY (in my humble opinion) as SnowRunner is way more challenging, demanding low-speed skillsets in adverse conditions and truly axle-snapping off-road challenges. I spend way too much time loitering in ETS-2 waiting for lazy hired drivers to get their asses into gear! KEEP TRUCKING GUYS, whatever your vehicular passions may be! 😉
Can you buy dif trucks with real money without having to buy with game money? I want to play with different trucks but been stuck with this paystar for a whole lot of hours I mean 3rd map still have the paystar.. I want to be able to experience different trucks I mean that's a higher reason I bought this.. Anybody? Any instruction if I can?
Idiot. Base game is cheaper and longer than most games out there. If you cant afford dlc, dont buy. How are they suppose to support this game without additional revenue?
IF you came here for info this is a good presentation. I would add that this is a GAME not a simulator. The MPG is ridiculous. The tendency to roll over is crazy (I rolled a tractor hauling the tanker on flat ground while not turning at low speed😂) Not a manual transmission to be found. You will be watching UA-cam videos to figure out simple things. You won’t have access to all the cool stuff you see in videos until you’ve spent several hours. Knowing this it’s still a great game that can be equally frustrating and satisfying. 😃
The $20 map pack I bought my son in far cry 5 I'd call that micro content the $25 for a year pass in snowrunner well worth the money they should just be labeled snowrunner 2 it's a whole other game worth of content in each year pass
What bothered me was that there was only 3 main regions and the other 2 or 3 can't remember were behind a paywall lame! Also don't really need anymore then 2 scouting vehicles, and 2 or 3 4wd trucks to make the game a breeze, I ended up selling most of the recovered or fixed up vehicles I found for my first top notch truck with the best possible tires.
Get the base game and enjoy it to the fullest. If it won't be enough for you and you want more, more regions, more cars, then get DLC, no earlier than that. But if you feel like you want a complete experience with everything that game has two offer, and you have a good deal on DLCs, then get them now, why not
There are sites online, such as the spintires wiki, that describe the contents of the DLC so you can see what's in them before you buy them. The quality of trucks and maps is as good as in the original game.
So if you ignore the couple of Car DLC packs which isn't many...whats left is the Map DLC packs. You need to remeber though this games been out for a few years now though meaning they release a dlc map about every 3 to 5 months. Which is 7 bucks.....and these maps are multiple zones and massive with extra cars. So it's not like the game was front loaded with DLC its been released over time. These map addons are absolutely worth it too. What i recommend is getting the base game which comes with three territories....and if your loving it. Drop the 7 bucks each map to extend your gameplay....or if you know your gonna play all of em by that time....get a season pass. You save money on the package deal (25 bundle vs 31 individual) and you get a few extra goodies. The game and DLC go on sale occasionally if you really need to save those extra few dollars.
@@Nyxson Thanks. Nice review btw. Love the gameplay footage you took. Perfect for showing others how the game looks and operates. Kinda hard to convince a buddy to give the game a shot with a game as unique as this.
If you own the season passes there really isn't that many micro transactions. Yes there still is a few but really unneeded. Look what year the game came out to. It was a Epic exclusive for the first year of its life. For a game that came out in 2020 and still releasing content very regularly I'm happy with that.
"When a truck gets stuck it's stuck." Not quite... You get another truck to get that first one out, but it ends rolling over or falling down a hill/cliff. Then you get another truck to get the first one, just to get the one that rolled over 🤦♂️
There aren't really microtransactions, there is DLC, and it is A LOT of content, so I'm not mad at all that it costs. Right now you can get the game and all content (all DLC/Seasons) for $48. That hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay and well worth the money.
I would not say micro transactions, actually the DLC’s is what keeps the game moving. It is good to see that developers have not abandoned the game, specially because there are not a lot of options for off road / truck simulators. So, no, I would not say micro transactions. It is not pay to win, and the amount that a dlc is worth vs all the content that it has, it is definitely worth it. 80 cents or a buck for a skin? Vs 30 dollars for a battle pass? Yea…
Although Mr. Nyxson is a great game commenter, the complaint about micro transactions is not accurate in my view. You don't have to buy anything extra at all to enjoy the base game 100%. You will have over 40 trucks of different kinds, and three different regions, each with multiple maps with many, many things to do. If you like that enough to want more, you can buy (or simply not buy) DLCs that come out four times a year and offer many new kinds of trucks including some amazing famous ones and challenging maps in different parts of the world, sometimes with a completely new kind of trucking activity you can try. There are also some smaller ones for something special like certain famous trucks. You can pick and choose any parts that are interesting to you. For example, I passed on a season DLC that had a new truck and maps for truck racing, and another for large farm tractors and farming you can do. To me, I enjoy the game so much and the additions are of such high quality that I'm glad to be able to get some new content for a few dollars when I want to. As a person who works for a living and likes getting paid for my work, I also think people working on the new stuff year after year deserve to make some money.
Definitely a gamepass download. But if I didn’t have gamepass, I would hope for a demo, because I would never know how great this game really is without gamepass… this is intriguing but I wouldn’t pay full price to see if I’m going to like it or not, but I think it would’ve been worth the gamble
I have played this game from day one and I just love it, however the content and quality has dropped in the last few updates. Tennessee is disappointing to the max. Just my opinion as someone who has been playing for years. Lets not get started on the glitches.
Everyone needs to tell the snow runner people to fix their game. I couldn't play since season 7 came on xbox series X. Can't even play with my friend Try to spread the news please. I really wanna get back on a game?
If you think about it tho most games are like 70$ now a days so when you buy the whole thing with the dlcs it will be about 70$ and its actually worth it looks so good
Its DLC, not Micro-transactions. Nothing wrong with showing what extra stuff people can have for a few more bucks. There's a lot of DLC, but it's also fairly priced, it's not gonna cost you hundreds of dollars like an EA game or Paradox game with the same amount of DLC. Just get the base game and try it. It's fun. I don't even like cars or driving them. I can't even tell you what a muffler does. But this game has a short learning curve and lots to do and is surprisingly fun. Got it cuz I watched it in a video. It has a bit of a Farming Simulator feel to it, so if you like those games, go for it. Haven't tried it co-op yet, all my friends only play the popular big name games like CoD and Dark Souls, while I play all the fun lesser known games like Streets of Rogue and Project Zomboid. So it's hard to convince my friends to play games that are actually good.
I love this game and have played it from launch and have almost 1000h in it without even finishing it yet. I have bought both the year 1 and year 2 pass both of which I have found incredibly worth it. I don’t think there is an overwhelming amount of micro transactions it just looks like there are a lot but you can get almost all of the content and useful trucks with the year 1 and 2 pass. I will say that you do not need to buy any dlc and the base game will give you over 100 hours of content.
Here's the thing about the paid DLC trucks. You don't need to buy them. They're no better than the trucks included in the game. Some of them are actually worse than the vanilla trucks. The reality of the paid DLC trucks is unless you're a fan of any of the brands of vehicles, there's no need to buy them. You can complete the game without them. The year 1 and 2 passes are worth it though. They come with plenty of content and a bunch of trucks.
I don’t think dlc is considered micro transactions. Considering they’re so cheap for loads of content. Not to mention the myriad of free mods that heavily outweigh the dlc content. This review feels very half-assed to me, and with the false narrative of micro transactions, it would turn off a lot of players.
you forgot another thing. MODS ON CONSOLE!!! and dlcs dont really count as micro transactions in my opinion. buying money is more, or if it shoves season passes into your face.
your "microtransactions" are just different trucks, maps. some skins. modestly priced. they aren't needed to have fun. the maps are good. this guy might have a valid complaint if you were bombarded through out the game to buy things........but if you don't look at the store page on steam, your not gonna see what you could get.
If you are playing on Xbox Series X don't buy Snowrunner unless you have patience to launch it and try again from last save because it crashes every single day. It's what i have seen everyday i play and i don't see any improvement. It can update, you can turn off some graphical effects and disable all mods,it doesn't work. The game by itself is good but this is a cancer, never in my life i have seen a game crashing more than 60 times on Xbox SX for 2 months and this is my warning,be prepared.
Thanks Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Love the review, just curious if youre having youre troops play the game for the Russian winter when Ukraine goes on the offense
The 2 season passes are definitely worth it. There are a few extra dlc that are not included. But these are some extra vehicles, that don’t give any extra atvantages. One season pass is 25€ (I think) you get 4 regions and tons of trucks with it. If you buy everything individually its getting expensive, but the dlc pass is the price of 2-3 map dlc and you get 4 map dlc (wich include trucks) some skin and some truck only dlc for it. There are still many trucks left without any dlc pass, but they as said above are some specieal licensed trucks that are really not the best. In fact most of the best trucks are in vanilla and some are included in the map dlc. The best example is the scout class: there are around 20 scouts by now, but the in the top 5 there are only 2 dlc scouts and those are within the season 1 pass. Having one or two of these scouts is benefit enough since you usually don’t need more than 2-3 scouts. Another great example is the heavy duty class. The dlc heavy duty trucks all have their gimmicks, that make them kinda unique, but they are just some famous American trucks. I got them all, but that’s because I am obsessed with collecting 😊
Snowrunner absolutely does not have ALOT OF MICRO TRANSACTIONS! IT HAS DLC TRUCKS If you want that does not make or break the game and if you buy the season pass you get all the phases and extra content like paint schemes stickers trial maps for free! Besides the paid scouts and trucks DLC thats offered! You act like saber forces you to buy micro TRANSACTIONS in order to progress the game!
Technically DLCs ARE microtransactions. But I understand what do you mean, you probably refer to microtransactions to things like skins, XP boosters and such. But technically Truck DLCs, new regions and etc ARE microtransactions as well.
What is this guy talking about micro transaction every year pass is a whole game worth of content I've been 4 weeks playing as much as I can play and I don't have half the maps open up I've just been going through and finding watch towers and few missions to get the free vehicles and open the garage and some much needed bridges
Had me til you mentioned microtransactions Not gonna spend money on a game that will constantly ask for more money Get a better investor ffs or go private and develop a good fucking game ffs people
I like it a lot, and almost finish everything for first year pass. But I figured out that it has roots from russia, or some part of it. And it became dump, russian trucks are better, no random damage, more tough and has better AWD&FWD. So I have to stop, because I don't want to support russian devs in any way, even by taxes and some small amont of my money would convert into a rocket. I'm looking for an alternative.

I just did that right now
I just paid 64.99 for all 3 year passes very happy then I found out I'm still getting season 10,11,and 12 when they come out I think these people just hate n don't have no idea how much you get now got my son a map pack for far cry 5 you don't get mush
I like the no nonsense disclaimer at the start of the video saying "long story short, yes"
I preordered it and it’s now one of my most plaid games of all time
I’m a long time World of Warcraft player.
You are talking about the price WITH tax, that's why it's off.
Here is the source of my info: steamdb.info/app/1465360/
I felt the mud physics to be alitte bit better in Mudrunner.
I really want this game but I wanna know if I can have fun without paying for anything I’ve never tried it so can someone tell me will I have fun playing without worrying about dlc etc??
The main game is defenetly worth it, the dlc are just extra content and you dont need them to progress
Some of the vehicles have had to be removed due to licencing battle between Spintires (original game) and Mud/Snowrunner (Spinoff)
Praise Allah
If you played with toy trucks in the back yard as a kid, you'll like this game.
Watch this man more people and like his videos, like bro 1000 people watch this video and 50 like it
❤️❤️❤️
TBF, "Excessive amount of microtransactions" aren't that much Excessive,
The default vehicles are good enough to get you through the game,
Also, Most of their DLC are dirt cheap affordable, costing less than a can of Redbull,
Tried the game because it was free with PlayStation catalog and gutted I didn’t try it sooner, hands down top game! Cannot wait to get the year passes when I’ve eventually done the full game
The only thing missing from this awesome game is gta style radio stations 😊
Use ur own music
I've always reminded my kids as they took an interest in driving, that it's easy to make a vehicle move 'forward' and at 'speed' but any deviation to either, is when controlling a vehicle becomes precarious at the very least, always tests your ability to predict the unknown. And requires no less than one hundred percent of ones attention, unlike gaming, because *real cars and real people* don't come fitted with re-spawn buttons. 🤔
The comparisons made between SnowRunner and my current favourite ETS-2 made me chuckle, but it's so true, ETS-2 is like like a cleaner version, but that's where all similarities seem to end.
Not with the overall cost a d microtransactions/pay to win
basically euro truck simulator but with improved physics on hard mode
The $20 map pack I bought my son in far cry 5 I'd call that micro content the $25 for a year pass in snowrunner well worth the money they should just be labeled snowrunner 2 it's a whole other game worth of content in each year pass
Dark souls was exactly my thought as well when I played snow runner first.
What bothered me was that there was only 3 main regions and the other 2 or 3 can't remember were behind a paywall lame! Also don't really need anymore then 2 scouting vehicles, and 2 or 3 4wd trucks to make the game a breeze, I ended up selling most of the recovered or fixed up vehicles I found for my first top notch truck with the best possible tires.
this is the game death stranding was trying to be
Are the DLC worth it to buy? What do you get in it?
Get the base game and enjoy it to the fullest.
If it won't be enough for you and you want more, more regions, more cars, then get DLC, no earlier than that.
But if you feel like you want a complete experience with everything that game has two offer, and you have a good deal on DLCs, then get them now, why not
worth it 100%
There are sites online, such as the spintires wiki, that describe the contents of the DLC so you can see what's in them before you buy them. The quality of trucks and maps is as good as in the original game.
What is the difference between demo and paid snowrunner ?
I play on Nintendo switch and I love it because it is still the nicest game I have played in the past years.
Snowrunner is the best game ever👐
Doesn’t come close to original spintires
Do you think it's worth it on playstation for €60 for the game with all dlc? In my country it's on sale right now.
Can you afford it? Then yes.
I personally would not pay that much (but that's ONLY because my region has way lower prices)
That is one perfect advice👍
@@Nyxson Thanks. Nice review btw. Love the gameplay footage you took. Perfect for showing others how the game looks and operates. Kinda hard to convince a buddy to give the game a shot with a game as unique as this.
How are the graphics for that game? The game looks big so I’m not expecting rdr2 level graphics but not stinky.
Just got it free this game is pretty amazing , off road traction kool trucks and dope mechanics
Yea…
thanks. good video :)
Looks kinda spooky....but this will be the next one I get...can't believe I haven't already got it. Damn Forza!!!
Probably in my top 5 games easily.
Yeah lots of trucks are locked away, but what about all the mods...
There's no MTX's in this game, just some DLC trucks and Seasonal Maps.
On sale on psn rn im coping
Just buy it and learn it, I promise you won’t be disappointed. The satisfaction of this game is uncanny sometimes
supper fun game and just FYI: unlocks/aka bypassing transactions are super Ez... sorry but after three releases of the same game.. all should know!
GTA should have this physics with cars and environment
I doubt that 90% would enjoy it
Just downloaded it, hope is not to hard to play
How is it? I‘m about to buy it
The only thing play This game, you need to be Patient!!
I have played this game from day one and I just love it, however the content and quality has dropped in the last few updates. Tennessee is disappointing to the max. Just my opinion as someone who has been playing for years. Lets not get started on the glitches.
It's pretty much Death Stranding without the weaboo shit.
Jk I love Death Stranding.
Everyone needs to tell the snow runner people to fix their game. I couldn't play since season 7 came on xbox series X. Can't even play with my friend
Try to spread the news please. I really wanna get back on a game?
$20 for a season.... so $60 for all 3 seasons for like 1000 hours of content or more. Way better than $30+ for skins in other games.
If you think about it tho most games are like 70$ now a days so when you buy the whole thing with the dlcs it will be about 70$ and its actually worth it looks so good
mods are in game too
Its DLC, not Micro-transactions.
I play this while working
The game by itself is good but this is a cancer, never in my life i have seen a game crashing more than 60 times on Xbox SX for 2 months and this is my warning,be prepared.
thanks
Yes. The answer is yes.
Don't try to get anything done just how with the flow trust me
16$ on steam atm
I hate the micro trans stuff .. mx atv games have a lot of that .. bit i might buy this one
srsly - you call extra content maps and truck microtransactions ? kinda weird
They cost money and do not come with the game... it is a textbook definition of micro transactions
I hate the darksouls comparison... the game is nothing like darksouls, it's long and tedious, it's not difficult
What is this guy talking about micro transaction every year pass is a whole game worth of content I've been 4 weeks playing as much as I can play and I don't have half the maps open up I've just been going through and finding watch towers and few missions to get the free vehicles and open the garage and some much needed bridges
if you don't play with a friend it's not worth it
Do you play it? If yes then add me, I’m gonna buy it next week with year 1,2&3 passes. You on PlayStation?
1000000% worth it
Had me til you mentioned microtransactions
Not gonna spend money on a game that will constantly ask for more money
Get a better investor ffs or go private and develop a good fucking game ffs people
Idiot. If you want more options and regions, pay otherwise base game is big enough.
No go on steamed.
micros transactions butttttt theres mods lol
They take forever to fix their f****** game
I like it a lot, and almost finish everything for first year pass. But I figured out that it has roots from russia, or some part of it. And it became dump, russian trucks are better, no random damage, more tough and has better AWD&FWD. So I have to stop, because I don't want to support russian devs in any way, even by taxes and some small amont of my money would convert into a rocket. I'm looking for an alternative.
