I commented before about using it and watching this review I see it mirrors many of my thoughts. While I've never had the FEMM flip or tip, I've come close but for some reason that back end held it from going over. Usually this is the result of hitting terrain and that front end snapping to one side causing you to drive off the road to correct. This truck handles different than almost every other truck in the game. It's got power for days but you gotta be careful with it or it will be the one controlling you. I still don't have the Diff-lock for it yet but dropping it into high gear has kept it pushing though the difficult terrain when auto starts to slog down. I haven't taken enough damage to wear the engine down but I did notice that because of it's size that you are unaware of just how much weight you're moving around and the slightest tap on something will nickel and dime that engine. It doesn't seem to have a lot or resistance to damage. But, with that engine drinking a ton of gas, most of my trips have been short to medium length, so I get it in for repairs a lot. I just did a mission last night where I compared the time and results between it and the Twinsteer (with the JAT tires) and frankly the Twinsteer is a lot more stable now and that I might still use it for quick jaunts if I need 4 cargo instead of the FEMM.
I just finished my driving an hour ago. As you said, the FEMM is absolutely bonkers. It does make the WS Twinsteer a bit obsolete, especially since it can't tow trailers. I do think it's inclusion is bit unnecessary, as it's basically the completely outclassing the competition, with the possible exception of logging and fuel tank size (the Mack Defense has a bigger fuel tank than it and it's tiny in comparison). I will use it a bit, but I think I will go back to my smaller trucks soon. The MTB is a special one. Just this season is when I got back into scouting. With the JAT tires, it became fun again as it buffs all smaller scouts which is highly necessary. I drove the Neo Falcon, as it is also an Indian vehicle like the MTB. To unlock the MTB I scouted a lot with the Falcon and it turns out I absolutely love it. Sure, it's kinda mid, but it has decent tire size, switchable AWD and is decently balanced. For a B power rating it get's going quite nicely on the road and offroad it's going fast, but not so fast that it spins it wheels too much. Towing the radar trailer also went well, with the MTB struggling a bit more. I think the MTB is a worse Neo Falcon, mainly because it drinks more fuel due to the always on AWD and smaller fuel tank. Also visually I started to love the Falcon a lot as well. Great review of these two as always 👍👍
Nothing makes the twinsteer obsolete my guy. The twinsteer is 4x faster than the femm and you dont always want to deal with trailers. It will always be one of the best trucks in the game.
@@heavyo6146 Fair enough , but I think the FEMM is pretty fast for the size. Yes, the WS is faster, but in the end, I think the Twinsteer needs a trailer hitch (to at least make it able to turn on the generator in the zone). I will most likely get back to using smaller trucks with the semi trailer. I find those a bit more comfortable to navigate than these huge trucks. I did use the Twinsteer a lot in the beginning when I didn’t have the ferry unlocked yet to get to the trailer store better. It did remind me that it’s pretty capable and I only flipped it once. As one of the originals and the poster child of the game, you’re right that it truly is an iconic truck which will keep driving if you’re careful with the terrain 👍
One thing i do to avoid just using one truck is i don't change the Addons keeping them locked in one role so i can force myself to use other trucks for different roles. I normally use just spare duplicates of trucks i've picked up across the seasons for things like the seismic viberator and magnent scanner.
Hey man, first time commentig One of your videos. But trust me i watched all your trucks reviews. Nice work! That being said...i think you were a bit to harsh on the Femm...like i can feel You don't want the truck in the Game. You compared a super heavy Femm with the 605R...come on now... Of course the 605r will win. Why not compare with the other super heavy Kenworth 963? Wich i love and thought was the King...before the arrival of Femm. Anyway, love your work. Keep at it! Seikenden (from Reddit here).
Hey glad you have been enjoying the content. It probably sounded harsh, but Im just describing my findings. So a few reasons I didn’t compare the Kenny because the Kenny lacks power and the 605R is actually the first of the super heavies to be put in the game. I used the 605R against the FEMM because they are some of the top performers in the class. Also being that a lot of folks wanted to know if the FEMM was the King or not. I actually think the 605R is as versatile as the FEMM they have similar amount of addons aside from the 605R not having a small crane. The Kenny overall is a great truck, but it wouldn’t stand up to those pulls against the FEMM. It’s been tested by myself and a few other content creators so I felt The Kenny is a good truck to compare to the Derry Special or the Mastodon being that the mastodon has the same torque and addons are well. I have even done comparisons on stream with the Derry special and the FEMM as well. IMHO the best heavy truck isn’t one that just has a bunch of addons.
I think it's a okay release. It's good to have another truck that can have the 4 slot bed. I'm not sure it needed the best engine in the game and huge tires tho.. It's a little extreme.
I got this scout yesterday using Mack Defense. I upgraded it and used it and it's not too bad but still doesn't beat Ford F750 with the best engine. As for FEMM it is very good and has good power and the articulated frame isn't that bad. I only use it for 4 slot cargo and for trailers i choose Derry Special or Ken. Is FEMM the best truck? In my opinion Kenworth 963 (Ken) is the best and i've seen in the game what this monster can do.
@@NProvinceseeing you hauling that construction rig with a fuel carrier on your back made me think of a tanker+saddle combo it could have, like the KW963. But the devs decided not to give it one. Fortunately, the mods exist...
Amazing content and lots of information as always, I can't thank you enough Nate! That being said, may I ask your opinion about the new buffed Jat OMD III tires and how they compare against the good ol' UOD II's?
Hey thank you! So the New OMD buffs. I briefly ran those through a test strip real quick and they somehow came out 10 secs slower than the old versions. Im gonna have to do more testing on this because that cant be right. I'll look into this more
I didn't like the Rock Grinder at all. It's slow, wobbly with the crawler suspension and has the same balance issues as the Scout 800 (loves to do a backflip). And its roof rack has less fuel than it should (based on the number of the jerry cans). Also, its difflock takes forever to find. I'm 42% through North Carolina and still haven't found the upgrade.
The only unique thing FEMM adds is a 4 slot sideboard bed + trailer combination. It performs well enough in mud, but I just can't get over how twitchy it's articulated steering is. It requires constant high concentration to catch it instantly when a little rock or root decides to throw the cab to the side. In that regard even WS 9600 is a more relaxing vehicle to drive (if only it had a trailer hitch in vanilla).
Wow, this hasn't been my experience with the fem, I feel like it doesn't tip, 4 slot cargo, trailer support, unmatched off road proformanc, doesn't get boged down
I never said it is tippy actually. Those were just cautionary points added in. I believe if you look into what I mentioned, by the files its very stable, but can get into some bad situations. Offroad deep mud performance, yes I also mentioned it was top notch
Even then, do we really need more of these? Ya know the game used to be referred to as the “Dark Souls” off off-roading back in the day. Now I think it has turned into something else
So these are two very separate types of vehicles. i don’t think one replaces the other to be honest. The Paystar is almost an off-road truck type and the FEMM is just a massive high powered cargo specialist
I feel like alot of the stability issues with the 37-AT have been from the fact that its center of gravity moves as it turns, particularly with all 4 slots loaded. The frame and everything on it swings to the outside of a turn, the same direction the G forces at play are trying to push the thing during said turn, and in rough terrain thats also the same direction you'll usually be leaning to begin with. That being said if you need to just get a bunch of cargo through a giant mud hole, thats where it excels. As for the MTB, nothing special but nothing really against it either. Once I got it I did use it to scout the rest of the region and even without a diff lock it did alright.
